how to reply to the frequently asked question in the interviews such as this one" tell me about ur self" actually what does the interviewer expects from us when he asks this question?

The interviewer doesnt care about your love life, family life, friends life or life at school, he wants to cut to the chase and talk about YOU. YOUR interests, your weaknesses n strengths, how well you perform on a job and your other work expiriences. And if you havent had a job before and this is your first interview, then let them know that. Dont fake during an interview, whatever you do stay calm and try to stick to being honest. He/She doesnt want you to fill thier head with a bunch of far out things to make yourself look good. The most important thing is to go in calm and be yourself. Let them know your interested in the job and give details about how you as a person would be right for the job and list your qualities and make it interesting but as i said, stay honest and dont stretch anything that could turn into a lie. Just be yourself and who you are and about 95% of the time by doing that, you have the job in the bag [ BedtymeCarebear01's advice column | Ask BedtymeCarebear01 A Question ]

things lyk that are good ^ .. they dont expect you to tell them yur whole life story .. just enough to make them interested in you.
MFS answered Tuesday October 26 2004, 9:47 am: Usually, they are looking for a "high level view" of you - they want to see how well-rounded you are, see where your interests lie, etc. Thus, when asked that, it is better to give light details and provide lots of different things about you. This way, if anything catches the interviewer's interest, they can ask you another more specific question regarding one of those things. Hopefully an interview won't open with this question first - that should be frowned upon as it doesn't establish what the scope of the interview is. [ MFS's advice column | Ask MFS A Question ]
DruidX answered Tuesday October 26 2004, 9:07 am: Most of the time the interviewer will want you to sell yourself, ie say what sort of expierience you have, what your strengths are, what hobbies you have and why they are pertinent to the job, stuff like that.
