If you drink really cold water it can help your body burn some extra calories. It does this because putting the cold water in your body makes the body work harder to warm you up. It doesn't help much though.. I read that drinking ice water burns and extra 17 calories an hour or something. Some things that do raise you metabolism though are green tea and kelp pills. The most effective and safe way to raise your metabolism naturally is to exercise. Good luck

it only speeds up your metabolism a little....one thing that will def. give you a faster metabolism is running (especially in cold weather, although it may hurt your throat). as far as food goes there really isn't anything that makes it faster....except for weird "witch doctor" stuff, which is NOT recommened!!!!

eatting fish every once and awhile speeds up your metabolism try eatting it once a week like salmon or tuna, but without the mayo or anything, put it in a salad or something

If you're talking about the water you drink, then you're kinda right: it takes more energy for your body to warm up cold water to your body temperature.

No, I don't think that water does anything for your metabolism, hot or cold. I'd suggest, not only excercise, but keeping an active lifestyle. Nothing better than sitting down in front of the tv or computer for a few hours to slow your body down ;)

Nope, that's not true! The only way to speed up your metabolism is to take pills, prescribed by your doctor! Also, if you exercise more, your metabolism will be faster! Hope I helped :)

MelikoDee answered Tuesday October 19 2004, 6:36 pm:
Regular exercise and a healthy dose of your vegetables will increase your metabolism in due time. Water and electrolytes have little to no aid in the rise of your metabolism.

But, if you drink your daily doses of water each day, your metabolism is more likely to work faster. In order for your metabolism to experience the proper chemical reactions for it to increase, you have to drink water. That's what causes the reaction. :)

Water does wonders for the body.

Uhm no . that isn't true. The only thing that would help is probably just pills subscribed by a doctor . good luck!
