ive just started doing pot this year and i feel that ive becoming addicted to it now. When i did it for the first time i told myself that i wouldn't get addicted, but now its so hard not to do it. Most of my friends do it and when im around it i just wanna smoke it up with them too. What should i do?

It's just like if you were to go to rehab for cocaine, your not aloud to hang out with your old cocaine addict friends. They tell you to find new clean friends. It's a whole thing about self - control. I'm not telling you stop hanging out with all of your friends because they do pot, just try hanging out with them less often then you normally would. You can't stop doing pot unless you have self-control.
S_C answered Sunday October 17 2004, 6:44 pm: Well most of my friends do pot, well actually 90 some % of them do pot, but I don't, I do do some bad things, but pot it way too addictive for me, and they still like me. Try to quit, once you run out of money, since it's some pretty expensicve stuff, you'll realize you can't afford this, you can't handle it. I mean don't get me wrong, being high is a pretty good feeling, and it doesn't actually do that much bad stuff to your body. There are some numbers that you can call, but I saw somebody else already had them, and I didn't want you to think I was copying. Talk to a teacher, or a counciler. Usually all teachers say come to them if you need to talk. In that last years of my life, there were about 4 that I could really talk to. I have a teacher now I could ask if you'd like me to. Drop one in the inbox, I have plenty of teachers I'm not embarassed to talk to. If I remeber, then tomorrow in school when I confront her about something I need to know, I'll bring up your problem, she already knows that I do advice, so have the questions I ask her, she thinks either have to do with her class (parent/child development) or this site. So I'll try to bring it up, and once I do, I'm going to edit this whole thing and delete it, so make sure you hurry and read this. Good luck with the addiction. MissIiVannaH answered Sunday October 17 2004, 5:16 pm: Well you can try to avoid those friends that do.Stay busy join a program for that. you learn wut pot can do to you and what it can cause your body to react to then you might regret doing it.You need to talk to someone about it and let it all out because that will help you and that person can help you quit but you need to stop now before it get serious and you hurt yourself.I hope it workouts for the best. liddylflirtx3 answered Sunday October 17 2004, 4:20 pm: You can't tell yourself that you won't get addicted. Teens get addicted to cigarettes and smoke so much faster than adults - within 2-3 weeks! You need to get away from pot now. Whenever you feel like smoking it, go eat something - like candy or have some gum. Also, stay away from the people you know that smoke it so you won't be tempted to.
It's a horrible habit, an also very bad for your body! If your friends offer it to you just say no! Get rid of any pot you have now - the only way you can really help yourself is to quit, and soon! [ liddylflirtx3's advice column | Ask liddylflirtx3 A Question ]
Sherry answered Sunday October 17 2004, 4:20 pm: If you want to stop, then you need to stop hanging around people that smoke. But if you dont want to stop completley, there is no way to really stop your addiction unless you stop all of the smoking. [ Sherry's advice column | Ask Sherry A Question ]
Karen answered Sunday October 17 2004, 4:05 pm: You could try not hanging around your friends that much who do pot or do other things that will get pot off of your mind!! You could read, write, go on the phone/internet, watch tv or movies, etc. Just try to do things that will get pot off of your mind!! Hope I helped :) [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
