hair problems

Question Posted Thursday September 30 2004, 9:38 am

After I take a shower my hair is alwyas knotty. After I comb all the knots out it gets knotty again. Then my hair get really frizzy when it dries. Do you have any ideas on how to get the knots out and how to get my hair frizz-less.

Try using conditioner if you don't already. Or you could buy some detangling spray. Hope your hair gets better!

as soon as u get out of the shower, comb it, then straighten it with a straightening iron. when it dries, comb it again, and straighten it again, usually straight hair doesnt tangle.

hailebop answered Thursday September 30 2004, 3:58 pm:
You want to use a seperate conditioner after you shampoo (rather than anything that's '2 in 1') if your hair is prone to getting really knotted. You should also not brush your hair to rigorously - use a wide-toothed detangling comb slowly and gently and always start from the bottom of your hair and work up.

If your hair is frizzy it could be because it's damaged. Use hot-oil treatments and intensive leave-in conditioners to help it recover, and be careful when styling your hair - if you blow-dry your hair a lot this can lead to frizzyness as the heat damages the hair.

make sure you use a good conditioner for your hair type. a leave in helps, and so does simple detangler. get a good frizz serum to put before you let it dry.

well first off if you don't already you should use conditoner even if you have really greasy hair... use a really lite conditioner. comb your hair in the shower and then after that use john frieda's frizz ease hair serum. it works =D hope this helped.

Draak answered Thursday September 30 2004, 1:20 pm:
I have the same problem and use not only a regular conditioner, but also a leave in spray that helps alot. I'm not sure how many brands out there have the leave in conditioner. I do know that Infusium (www.infusium.com) has a whole line of products designed for damaged hair.

You can also try hot oil treatments, as FernGully suggested. They work really well. You can also try conditioners that are packed with protiens and not just regular cheap conditioners. If you have thick, curly hair you might try not rinsing the conditioner out completely and see how that works for you.

Well use conditioner because it de-tangles your hair, if you already use conditioner and that kind isnt working, i would suggest getting a new conditioner because that one doesnt work on your type of hair... and the frizzyness you can buy a spray for it like anywhere (walmart, walgreens, target, etc.)

FernGully answered Thursday September 30 2004, 12:18 pm:
Do you use Conditioner? Because conditioning your hair will help with frizz as well as knots. If you do use conditioner and still have frizz and knots, I'd give Infusium 23 Leave-In Conditioning a try. My hair knots constantly and I condition, so I have to use Infusium before I can get a comb through my hair.

If your hair is very damaged (which causes frizz), you may want to consider a hot oil treatment.

after you condition it, put on really cold water and brush the conditioner out while its running in the cold water. You will have non frizzy hair

If your hair is knotty and gets frizzy AFTER it dries, then it is likely that it is either severly damaged or thin. My hair used to be really damaged like that, and it got really frizzy after it dried. Try not to go out in the sun when your hair is still wet, because the sunrays can weaken your hair. I would use advice for a hair lotion, because it makes the hair frizz-less, smooth and shiny. Also, it sometimes heals damaged hair [but keep in mind this is the minor effect. If you really want your hair healthy, use the damaged-hair treatement lotion/shampoo/conditioner,etc]. Please DO NOT use frizz-less GEL i used that company and instead of making the hair shiny and soft, it looked greasy and sticky. Anyway, so if you get the knots out with the lotions in your comb, it will keep it from getting tangled up again.

I used to have a frizzy hair, too, so I KNOW how you feel.
I hope my advice helped. :)

Laura answered Thursday September 30 2004, 10:17 am:
Get an anti-knot spray. I think Johnson and Johnson makes "no more knots" but I am not sure. You spray it on and them comb your hair and the knots go away. For frizz, get a leave-in-conditioner. Herbal Essences works great.
