Vegitarianism.

Question Posted Thursday September 16 2004, 6:44 pm

Well, I'm a vegitarian. Ever since I stopped eating meat, I've had a horrible appitite. All the sudden I'm never hungry, and when I eat, I sometimes feel as if I'll just puke it right back up...what's wrong with me? I'm not anerexic, I'm just a vegitarian. I think I might need to give it up...

your body needs to get used to not eating meat. Your body depends on that meat for a lot of health reasons. You might need to take some pills that'll give you the nutrients that the meat would usually give you and mabey you won't get so sick then.

I dont think you've looked into vegetarianism very much. When doing this, if you just stop eating meat and start eating everything u usually do, your most likely missing out on some very important nutriants and vitamins that you need to sustain a well balanced body, which in turn will make you feel sick and the way you are. So look it up, find some vegetarian meals, and look out for what your eating. If necessary talk to a doctor about it, they'll give you some good information, because there is nothing wrong with becoming a vegetarian. Hope i helped. Good Luck :-)

Oy, going vegetarian can be hard. I did it once, and I got pretty sick, and I lost a lot of weight in a short amount of time. What has probably happened is that you suddenly cut down a LOT of what you eat by taking the meat out. Suddenly, you're eating a LOT less than your normal amount. Your body's gone into hibernation, only without the six month beauty sleep. Here's the deal. You don't have to give up being a vegetarian, you just need to make sure you eat enough food with protein and get all of your essential vitamins and minerals. It might be a little slow getting yourself used to eating a lot again, but you don't want to get sick or anything. If you find yourself in need of protein and you don't feel like eating a lot, go for a spoonful of peanut butter... But I suggest the creamy kind. I don't like chunky.

Hello I'm a vegitarian also so I know where your coming from. I have never eaten meat so my body has never felt sick from not eating meat but if I was you I wouldn't give up on your beliefs. If you don't already take a vitamins I would start. It could be the lack of the right vitamins that you need that is making you feel sick. If that doesn't help I would suggest seeing a doctor.

Hey! I'm a vegetarian too, and i use to feel like that at the beginning of becoming a vegetarian. Once you get use to it, you begin to feel better. You can give it up if you want, but if not then stick by it and give it some work. if you feel even more sick then ask your doctor and see what he/she says! Good luck hun!

I don't think that you should give up on your beliefs, but if its affecting your health, then you deffinatly should.

Not eating, can lead to anerexia, which is a terrible, terribe disease. You should probably be specific like not eating RED meats or something like that. You need protien to live.

If you're so headstrong about not eating meat, then take protien pills, fiber pills, everthing that has meat and cheese, you need to be healthy.

It's a choice you have to make, but i'd say eat some meat.
