After putting chap stick, lotion, etc on my lips, my lips are really soft, but when I add lip gloss over it my lips tend to peel. I use Clinique and MAC lip gloss some of those most expensive lip glosses n it still makes my lips peel. Is there anything I can do to not make them peel? Its driving me insane! This is the ONLY thing I cannot figure out!
SleepingBeauty answered Thursday August 26 2004, 9:35 pm: use vaseline instead of lip gloss. It won't dry out your lips and it'll look the same. If you want it to smell and taste like lip gloss put some Vaseline in a clean, empty film case and put vaseline and a powder drink mix that you like and mix it in. Let it sit over night and you'll have flavored, slightly tinted lip gloss. [ SleepingBeauty's advice column | Ask SleepingBeauty A Question ]

AskColleen answered Thursday August 26 2004, 3:26 pm: you could try a slick chap stick. it makes your lips shine like lip closs but it also keeps your lips from chapping like chapstick. I'm sorry I can't be more of a help.
luv n' luck

Ask_Anything answered Thursday August 26 2004, 2:30 am: im not positive why your lips peel, but you may be allergic to something in the lip glosses? or you have too much product on your lips and it might be irritating the skin? try not putting so much on and stay away from the lip gloss for a while and see if your lips still peel. if nothing helps- go see your doctor! good luck! =] -ask_anything [ Ask_Anything's advice column | Ask Ask_Anything A Question ]
juicyfruit answered Thursday August 26 2004, 2:26 am: Try not putting ALL that on your lips and just chapstick. And why do you buy expensive lip gloss anyway, especially if they make your lips peel? Try going to Wal-Mart or K-Mart or something like that. [ juicyfruit's advice column | Ask juicyfruit A Question ]
xo_dream answered Thursday August 26 2004, 2:24 am: Hmm .. I use MAC + Clinique all the time, + I've never had a problem with them drying out my lips, so I'm not sure =/.
Get a really moisturizing // healing lip balm, and let it soak in for around 1O minutes before you put your gloss on -- if it helps, do that twice, and then use your lipgloss. I don't know what else you can do .. sorry I couldn't help more! [ xo_dream's advice column | Ask xo_dream A Question ]
