Ok i got my period and i have really really bad cramps. i had such bad ones that i threw up 4 times and i had just taken medicine so i threw it up. Also when i sleep i wake up like every hour because it hurts so bad. What is something i should take or do??
OreoGirl answered Saturday August 14 2004, 11:46 am: well u should go see a doctor to see if they can give u anything
there are also strecthes that can help releive some of the pain. i dont kno exactly which ones so maybe u could look it up online.
u could also put a corn bag(or sumthing hot) where u have the cramps. hopefully u just have bad cramps in the beginning. thats wut happens to me and then they go away like the 3rd day.

lovelyrita answered Saturday August 14 2004, 1:19 am: I used to have cramps like that, and birth control pills worked wonders for me. My cramps are tolerable, my periods are lighter and more regular, I have fewer breakouts, and there's also that wonderful little side benefit of not being able to get pregnant. However, you have to take them every day, not just when you're on your period, so you may find that to be too much of a hassle. [ lovelyrita's advice column | Ask lovelyrita A Question ]
lorelei answered Saturday August 14 2004, 1:09 am: I have had this EXACT same problem since I was 12. We're some of the unlucky ones.
First of all, avoid greasy or rich foods during the few days before your period because it can make the symptoms a lot worse.
The second you start to feel cramps, take something for pain (I take two aleve. It works well for me) and lay down. If you can, put a heating pad or a hot water bottle over your stomach.
If that doesn't help and you still get sick, go see a doctor. Your doctor may give you some prescription-strength medicine for your pain, or they may suggest that you try birth control to regulate the hormone levels in your body.
I have had this exact same problem when I was 12. I didn't seek help for it til I got sick for 5 straight days and absolutely had to go to the hospital. I highly suggest seeing your doctor and letting them know.
Good luck and I hope you feel better. I would really like to know how it works out for you (since I don't know anyone else with the same problems I have), so please let me know! [ lorelei's advice column | Ask lorelei A Question ]

JimNYGfan88 answered Saturday August 14 2004, 1:03 am: My ex-girlfriend had really really really bad cramps just like you. And something she did was take birth control pills. She was told by her doctor that it gets rid of cramps. I'm not sure if it gets rid of the period all together, but taking birth control pills definitely helped her with the pain and she felt fine all the time after she started taking them. So I would recommend going to see your doctor and asking if birth control pills would be a good idea for getting rid of these terrible cramps.
