Does anyone have any tips on how to really project through an entire auditorium while you're singing?

babe,
dig down and pull it up from your stomach or get a really good microphone...or tell everyone to shut up ]
My Choral teacher made us do these breathing exersices, where you'd breath in for six counts or so, hold for ten, and let out for twelve. Also try singing from your diaphragm. (I can't spell, sorry lol) =) ]
Do alot of breathing exercises. They help. And breath/progect/sing from within your stomach not your chest. And maybe use a mic if ya can.
Hope I helped

Use your diaphram and make sure you're breathing properly. I'd talk to a vocal coach about some exercises that can help, because they can help you figure out just what *you* need to do to be loud enough + whatnot :o). ]
you need to have a lot of breath. take deep breaths when you have a break in the music or sumthing so you have enough to sing with. open your mouth wide and dont sing through your nose or throat. sing through your diaphram. then you can really get that nice sound. dont sing too hard or you will get sharp, but dont sing too soft then you will get flat. if they have a microphone, get up close to it and put your mouth like right by it. open wide, and let your voice do the magic. have fun! -PA ]
Take big breaths and use your diaphram muscles to project your voice. If you're singing, I'm assuming you've been properly trained on how to use your voice. If you haven't been properly trained then I suggest doing some breathing exercises. A good exercise that I always do is I place my hands on my waist, fingers pointing towards my toes, I breath in and fill up my entire lungs with air and then breath out slowly counting to five. Do this about 10 to 20 times and then work your way up to more. A good warmup is key. Also, just feel the song you're singing. I find when I'm into the music, I do better. Hope I helped!

This is why I took specialty singing :), haha.
Well, when you're up on stage, they usually have a microphone. If they don't, then that's pretty weird. But, just in case there isn't one, then you have to REALLY open your mouth. It would help to lift up your eyebrows and drop your jaw as far down as you can. After all, the more open your mouth is, the more sound can come out.

Its best to keep your head up and at a position on the stage that allows to you to see every area of the auditorium. If you can't see audience members, then they can't hear you. Its a pretty psychologial situation, as Siren already pointed out. In my opinion, I believe it really helps to imagine an enormous voice, and to place yourself as a powerful presence on stage. Its not a good idea to just sing louder, because you'll end up coming off screaming. A lot of singers actually look at the furthest wall, and sing to the wall. If at all possible, have someone stand at the back of the auditorium that you will be singing in and then sing a little. You'll get to do that anyhow if you were practicing before hand. ]
OOH, Singing! My specialty!!
I'm going to assume you already know how to project, just not through an auditorium. I have that problem, kind of. I sing opera, so I'm really loud, but it doesn't really CARRY.
Singing is as psychological as it is physical. Your mind will play a BIG role in singing, always.
Okay, firstly, look at a spot in the VERY back of the auditorium and think about singing to that spot. Think about filling the auditorium with sound.
When you breathe, think about filling your body with air, and singing from your toes.
If you don't know how to project, I can help you, but you'd have to IM me so I can ask you questions, etc. My sn is SirenCytherea on AIM.
Hope this was helpful!

Do not go closer to he microphone because it will sound all fuzzy. To project your voice you make your voice a little louder and then sing. Breathe deeper when you need to project louder. Hope I helped! <3 ]
heh..use ur diaphragm..i dunno how to spell it so i hope u got it. but um thats what my teacher always told us to do wen we were in the auditorium..hmm i could explain it better if i could show u. um hope i helped..good luck with the singin thing. ]
