Mackenzie answered Tuesday July 13 2004, 5:25 am: You could try Sleep Aroma Therapy. It comes in soaps and you just wash your hands in it. I'm not sure if it works or not.. it might just be all bull, but it's worth a shot if you're desperate. I think it works for me, but if it's becoming a real problem.. see a doctor. Feel better! deathmoose777 answered Monday July 12 2004, 12:16 pm: I have this issue too. DO you fall asleep late and wake up late? It's a syndrome, i foget what it's called, but basically it means your internal clock is on Tokyo time. I always stretch before I go to bed, which relaxes me and loosens me up so I'm not tense. blackmamba answered Monday July 12 2004, 3:05 am: well.. i had the same problem. i got a better mattress and started taking tylenol pm. both helped, but the tylenol is bad to take if you have to get up earlier than like one or two o'clock. ooh or maybe cut back on the caffeine and boost your physical activity. peace out man. BlueEyedBlondie725 answered Sunday July 11 2004, 3:23 pm: Sometimes I have trouble too, so I watch T.V. for awhile and what else I do is I listen to music really softly... that always helps you fall asleep. Hope that helps.
endilwen answered Sunday July 11 2004, 11:48 am: Reading a book at bedtime often helps people to settle down for sleep. Also avoiding eating, or drinking anything caffenated before bed. Try and wear yourself out during the day by exercising, working, going somewhere with friends etc. Also, if you get up late its hard to fall asleep at night; regular hours are always the best for healthy sleeping.
accolade answered Sunday July 11 2004, 11:17 am: one thing i gotta say is that counting sheep doesn NOT help. you want to get into one position and stay that way as long as you can. make sure you're comfortable, and lots of times having a fan or some music going helps lul you to sleep. whatever you do, never think about sleep while you're in bed, it just postpones it.... breath slowly, and just wait for it to come.
rainbowcherrie answered Sunday July 11 2004, 10:03 am: What you need to do is to start winding down earlier in the evenings. start by having a nice bath or shower then get into your pjs and have a hot drink like cocoa or something. then get into bed and read or watch tv or whatever. lie down and get all cosy and try to sleep. if you still find it hard, read for a little longer or read until you just fall asleep. hope i helped :D. <333 [ rainbowcherrie's advice column | Ask rainbowcherrie A Question ]
Roxybabii922 answered Sunday July 11 2004, 8:55 am: Reading a book makes you tired, if you aren't into reading, you could also try taking like a nyquil or however you spell it, they put you to sleep as soon as they kick in... [ Roxybabii922's advice column | Ask Roxybabii922 A Question ]
EsseNeminem answered Sunday July 11 2004, 7:48 am: I am a chronic insomniac, its rather hard for me to get to sleep, so I understand your problem. The thousands of suggestions I have received can be summed up into these three statements: 'Make sure the room is dark and any sounds are calming and somewhat quiet' and the dreaded 'Do something active during the day that will let your body know that you need rest' and lastly 'Get daily stresses off of your mind before bed, do something calming that takes your thoughts away from everyday life'
These, unfortunately, are cures for temporary restlessness. You may have a problem that is not so easily cured, in which case I would consult a medical professional, but try the simple things first, they can be of much assistance. Also, try not to second guess them because they seem as though they would be ineffective at first glance, sometimes the little things are what keep the mind healthy enough to help your body function properly.
Good Luck =) [ EsseNeminem's advice column | Ask EsseNeminem A Question ]
