Braces (EEEK)
Hey. I am going to the dentist soon and I know I have cavities. Not more than 3 though. And I know when I go to the dentist, they are going to have me get braces. Do braces hurt at all? I am just wondering. I am not all that tough. But I just want to find out how bad they hurt. Thank you!

hey i heard they hurt the first few dyas pretty bad, but not really after that wen they get tightened to im gettin some 2! it shoudlnt hurt a lot! good luck!

Don't worry! For the first week, braces feel very uncomfortable...but after that, they'll feel better...u'll get used to them!

i just got braces yesterday...July 7th
it depends where u go
where i went they put this thing in my mouth to keep my lips and tounge from touching my teeth, that was the worst for me
and when i got home i had soup and crackers
then about 4 or 5 hours later it was a lil sore if i put any pressure on my teeth, so i took 4teespoons of ibeuprofin(sp??)(pronounce i be pro fin)
then i had sum pork loin for dinner(tho my dad put it in a food processer)
but hey i woke up this mornin wit a few sore's, because i slept on my stomache and my braces pushed againt my lips
but so far so good
just get lotsa yogurt and pudding, that wut i've done, and 2 days after i got my braces..tomorrow
im goin to casa grande for dinner, mexican, i hope i can handle it
it's a lil wierd to eat at first, so u WANT soft foods, u can eat normal stuff like cereal, but it would HURT (trust me i tried)

im not pain tolerant either, but they really don't hurt as much as u would think
if u worry, then they will, but if u relax and take a nap afterwords they'll be just fine!!

i can tell you how bad braces hurt. i got mine and about 2 hours after i got them i layed in my bed with a glass of water and i had taken 2 tylenol. i'm not trying to scare you but just be prepared. tylenol helps alot

Alright braces are a bareable pain... Yeah it hurts when you first get them on because your teeth are moving like crazy, and when i first got mine on i couldnt chew i had to learn to swollow my food in small peices... sad story but true... But after a week and a half or so it feels better. They arnt as bad as people say they are. But you gotta remember even though theres pain... You'll still have a beautiful smile after all the pain and effort! Good luck with the braces!

I'm gettin them! My old friend got them and said they don't hurt at all. I would just do it and get it done with. Just imagine how pretty your teeth will look. :-)

cavaties dOnt give yOu braces...but they give yOu a shOt to numb yOur mOuth...thats a quick pinch and then everything else is just fast and easy!! xoxo

your mouth will just be sore for a week or 2 after they put them on... like its tight ! eat soft foods like ice cream, smoothies, jello, milkshakes stuff like that ! after a while you get totally used to them though and they only are sore for a little bit after you get them tightened !

They hurt a little when you get them on but they hurt worse a day or 2 later.Try takin tylenol or advil to relieve the pain.Good luck <33

hey!! well my friend has braces and she said they hurt but only when she 1st got them on or when you go to the orthindontist (think i spelt that wrong ~lol~) anywayz if ya need to kno anything else i recommend you to TiffanyTalks (shes a advicenator)well hope i helped!

No Braces, dont hurt. I dont have them but my friend says that it doesnt hurt until like 8 hours or so after, and usually last for about 2-3 weekz. But everyhting will be ok after that and just eat right after you get your braces. And she said the glue tastes really nasty. But it leaves you looking pretty so its all good and definetly worth it!

Braces don't hurt that badly. I've been in much worst pain; however, when you get them tightened you might want to stay away from tortilla chips, meat, and other tough foods. Braces are more annoying than they are painful. Get your braces on ASAP because the sooner you get them on, the sooner you get them off.
