menstrual cramps I'm on my period and have really awful cramps. What's the best drug to take? Aspirin? Tylenol? I'm tempted to just take them all.

pamprin or mydol ]

alleve (naproxen sodium), or ibuprofen (advil, motrin). I've been told by several female friends that these work wonders. ]
Hey i am also a Girl and i always use Tylenol PMS that always helps ]
Midol Cramp. Take one, wait 30 minutes without puking and screaming, and if it's still there, take another. Don't take more than 2. All it is is Ibuprofin, a muscle-pain drug, plus caffeine. However I seem to have developed a religious dependance on it--Midol Cramp WORKS!! Yes it DOES!!--and half the effectiveness is your belief. Heheh. If you find yourself screaming on the floor bleeding and puking and fevering, take Pepto-Bismol and don't move.
try not to take more than 400-500 mg of ibuprofin at once. You DO like your liver, don't you? ]
I think Advil, IB Profin, and Midol work the best. Try either of those! :) ]
You know, sometimes if I walk around a little or get some exercise it helps. Or it at least takes my mind off of it.
Ibuprofen is the same as Midol, so don't waste your money unless you need the extra milligrams. ]
Go for midol. Or equate, for PMS. Aspirin is good too.
Whatever you do, don't take tylenol for cramps. ]
Don't take them all! You'll die!!
Midol is always a good bet, as is Pamprin. There are medicines aimed directly for cramps... Just spend a little time in the med aisle when you can think clearly and it doesn't feel like someone is punching you repeatedly in the gut. :) ]
I generally take Aleve because it lasts a long time... you can get it anywhere... and you only need to take two at most (I'm crap at swallowing stuff, especially when I'm feeling lousy). Advil works okay in a pinch, and it kicks in faster... I've heard wonders about Midol, but I don't take it... though I think it has caffeine or something in it. I would personally NOT recommend Aspirin or Tylenol, but that may be just my preference. ]
Yeah, I'd go with Motrin if you're looking to pop a pill. There's also a tea called Moon Cycle that really helps me.

That's the one I use. ]
if you don't want to use drugs, i've heard that herbal teas are good (not normal tea or coffee) and i've found that applying heat helps (e.g. hot water bottle, warm bath, etc.) swimming slow laps in a heated pool works, too. try different things, there should be something that works for you!! good luck!! ]
In my honest opinion, Midol is the best thing for cramps. It's actually for menstral symptoms like cramping, bloating, ecetera. If you want to go a more natural route then I would suggest Tang Kuei. Tang Kuei has been used for centuries in China and is particularly beneficial for women because it has a reputation for influencing hormonal shifts in females or you can start taking a Calcium supplement. Calcium may help prevent cramps by maintaining normal muscle tone. Muscles that are calcium-deficient tend to be hyperactive and, therefore, more likely to cramp. Calcium has been reported to reduce discomfort during the menstrual phase of the cycle and reduce water retention during the premenstrual phase.
To learn more about Tang Kuei and some of it's other properties you can do so by visiting: [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) or any Herbalife distributor. ]
The best over the counter drug to take in my experience is Motrin. Alleve is ok too. Then Advil (in that order of effectiveness).
Perhaps you should see your doctor about going on the pill though. That was the only thing that knocked my cramps out entirely. I hear that is the case with some other women as well. ]
