Worried about high school....

hey..im going into high school next year as a freshman...and im naturally shy and kinda a know-it-all sometimes...
im worried about friendships and other realtionships being strained....and how i will handle taking all honors classes...can anyone tell me how honors classes compare to regular ones??
if anyone has good advice on handling the freshman year of high school....please tell me!

my friend emily thinks she is emo. SHE ISNT. She is the farthest thing from it. No one can convince her that she isnt though. Its so annoying. In her instant messanger profile, it says "IM EMO AND SO PROUD". every one tells her shes not, and its so annoying. DSFDBDFG. How can I get across to her that she isnt? She wears polos, and all she wears is hollister and abercrombie. she use to cut, but that was only for a day. she thinks that that makes her a hard core emo. I am so confused. Why would she want to be something she isnt?

if your bf of one year physically hurts you..like kicks you in the leg..punches you in stomcach..throws you on the ground..pins you down..grabs you by the jaw..you get the picture..well anyway if that happened to you..and you have been together for a year and nothing like that ever happened..what would you do? would you forgive him? after how long? would you make him get help? i mean..we've all done really dumb stuff before...

Friends and Alcohol

Right so I'm 17 years old. When I was 15 i went through some rough times and I turned to alcohol as a solution. It got pretty bad but i got over it eventually. Now I'm older i'm still having a rough time and I find that I keep going to alcohol as a solution.
As if thats not the worse of it, when i do drink I get absolutly wasted. Meaning i cry, i say embaressing things and I generally piss off my friends.
I'm terrified my friends are going to hate me for this. They drink, they've done it before. So many people have told me that they wont hate me for it, especially as its happened so often.
I just wish i could get over this paranoia that everyone hates me. its horrible.
I also want advice on what to do about this ...

i've liked a guy named .. dan, scine i was in 2nd grade, we went out when i was in 4th through 5th. but then 6th through 8th [until now, im in 8th]] grade, i was over him. and last weekend we hung out, flirted. he lives next store to me, so were on the same bus and today he sat with me and we listened to his ipod. my plams got all sweaty, and my plams never get sweaty. i was nervous about like what to say and stuff. i neverrr get nervous with other guys! but valentines day is soon, and i wanna like .. make a move on him. i dont know like how i should. how should i? how should i even let him know i like him?

a) Move yourself around randomly
b) Dance like dancing to hip hop (grinding et cetera)
c) Don't dance
d) Just hop around because the only time you listen to that kind of music is when you're tripping?

Losing My Grandpa

Okay so tonight i lost my grandpa. and feel so horrible because i wish i had been closer to him. i am really scared that i wont be able to deal at the services and stuff thats coming up later this week. do you guys have any seggestions for saying goodbye easier and not letting go or moving on but becoming at peace with whats happened and idk. im not really sure im still in shock, because this was all so sudden and i feel so bad because the last time i could have seen him, i took it for granted and didnt go, wow i feel so awful. my friend says i should speak at the service and that would be like a way of saying sorry, but idk if i can evn pull it together enough to get to them.
but any help would be great

I'm a freshman highschool girl and this year I've really grown up this year. You could say I've grown into my looks. I stand with the same group of people every morning before classes and every morning I get these little smiles from the guys. They also look at me then when i turn around to look at them they quickly look away and then say something and kinda point at me. Is this a good or bad thing? I think its good but I don't want to get my hopes up too high. So what are the guys saying/thinking? Boys answers would really help but girls should answer too.
