How do you know when you're in love? What does love feel like?

How do you know? I mean, I don't actually know if there is love or not really. I don't think I've ever felt that emotion. Is it like in the movies? Butterflies and all of that? Or is it something else? Can anybody describe it?

Why does my period smell different than usual?

I've never had a "smelly" period before and I just started today. My period is always exactly 28 days after my last one and this one has been right on track. This time it smells different though! I mean, usually it just smells like blood but today it smells like something else too. I can't describe it but it smells nasty.
I am a VERY clean person! Sometimes I shower 2 times a day even when I'm not on my period. Why does my period smell different this time? Is it because I ate something different than usual? Do I have an infection? Should I see a doctor?

I've come to realize lately that I'm into having sex in what I'd consider to be a weird way, by being spanked and choked fairly hard. Yes, I know there are people who are into that kind of thing, but I'm just an ordinary girl and I'm extremely embarassed and ashamed of myself. How can I deal with this or change my preferences?

i just came to a new school last week. its been a week now and i dont really hangout with anybody during lunch or anything. its not that im weird or shy or anything, its just that people there have their own friends already. What do i do?
for the last week i just walked around the whole campus in circles just to kill time until lunch ends.
i dont wanna do that anymore!
i know its easy for a girl to make friends at a new school, but its not that easy for a guy.

Okay I guess I'll just jump right in here...
I am a girl, first off. I am 19 years old, and ever since I was really, really young (age 3 or 4) people have ALWAYS commented on how much older I look then I really am.
When I was 15 I once had a police officer hit on me while I was on vacation with my family because I looked that much older. When he found out how old I was the officer was mortified and kept apologizing and left... (It was at the beach)
It didn't bother me because he wasn't mean but it bothers me that I seem to look so old. That is only ONE out of the thousands of situations that have happened like that to me for the last 16 years or so.

Hello Advicenators,
I like the Harry Potter books and the entire Twilight series. I was wondering is the Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith was a good book or not. I think LJ Smith wrote the Night World series too but I never caught that one. Anyway, would someone who enjoys those sorts of books (Harry Potter and Twilight) enjoy Vampire Diaries?
Oh, and by the way, is the Vampire Diaries similar to Twilight in any way other than involving vampires? I REALLY loved the romance between Edward Cullen and Bella Swan...

I know it's probably really stupid to ask but is Julia Childs a real person? I watched the Julie/Julia movie (starring Amy Adams and Meryl Streep) with my friends a few days ago and was curious if it was like based on a true story or anything. I don't know anything about Julie Childs or whatever if she is real so I'm pretty clueless if these things really did happen...does anyone know?

How to stop crushing on my teacher?

For some reason I developed a massive crush on a teacher I had. She was young, attractive and really nice. I can't stop thinking about her, . I keep thinking she hates me or think I'm stupid, even though there's no proof of that, and I keep thinking she'll completely forget me and I made a fool of myself in my class even though I really didn't. The thoughts of her not liking or having a bad impression of me pain me so much,. I also find myself staring at her yearbook picture constantly and I feel miserable and mopey all the time. How do I get rid of this crazy infatuation? .I would never act on the crush don't worry about that. Don't tell me I need to get over it I already know that I just don't know how?

I know brown discharge for a woman usually just means old blood either right before or after her period. But what if it is no where near my period and I'm getting that discharge? I don't think it's a yeast infection because I'm not burning or itching and it does not have an odor. I also know that discharge is just part of being a woman and that its normal...but is brown normal?

I found a lump in my breast last week. It is still about 2 square centimeters big and I believe it is still in stage 1 if it is cancerous. I did some research and I found that if I choose to leave it untreated, I have about 1-2 years left to live. I'm 15, a sophomore in high school. I've had cysts in my ovaries and the lump may be just a cyst too, but I don't want to tell my parents in case it is cancer. They have to put 2 other kids through college, so I don't want to take my siblings' futures away as well. Breast cancer victims normally die, despite all efforts and amount of money. I don't know what to do. Could you help?

I have a friend who I met when I was still with my ex, and we still talk, but he's literally been in and out of my life since we met last winter. I really like him, but it would be a long distance relationship since the college he goes to is almost two hours away. But he used to really like me, now I'm not sure. How do I hide anorexia from my friends?

Acting career

I want to persue a career as an actress (13) i'm pretty sure i'm devoted. But anyway, i've had a drama class in seventh grade and i was in the school play. I will be in the play this year also. I study actors/actresses very carefully to try to and pick up good techniques from them. So I have somewhat experience, but nothing like actually being on a movie set. QUESTION: What do you ABSOLUTELY need to know to become and actress? And some great techniques to use. Where do I get my start? Its all falling apart!

Im 15f, and my family is falling apart. my dad always cusses and uses bad language in practically every sentence (hes a yankee) mom doesnt like it because he always does it around my 2 year old sister. knowledge power?

I recently learned i have the gift of knowledge. Not normal knowledge but not like einstein. I know things it took adults 40 years to learn and i am 13. my mom says knowledge is a wonderful gift.
1. can i use my knowledge to maybe gain supernatural powers? or make myself dtronger or something.
2. How can i use my knowledge. it's cool to know things but it's sort of a boring gift (not that i don't love it.) what can i do with it that is interesting? and dont say find a cure for cancer or something scientific or mathematical.

I'm a senior in high school and over the years I've had to suffer, and still more than ever, really, really bad jealousy. And I don't mean I'm jealous over people in my grade being prettier than me or getting guys, but I mean being jealous of people being smarter and better at stuff than i am. I am pretty smart, i work really hard, and do well in school and everything else I do, but there are always handfuls of people who are way better than me.
