Should I resign from my position within a club? Posted Wednesday October 18 2017, 2:02 pm
To make a long story short I decided to join a club at college and was given the position of treasurer on the exec-board. I joined because the organization was aligned with my career goals and I wanted to be part of something in my community.
Well now I'm a couple months into it and not really feeling it like I was before. Only about 8 people showed up to our first meeting and nobody really seemed too enthused about it. I also didn't realize that we needed to raise money and it's a lot of money ($1700) per person. I don't think that's realistic at all for college students. We just started our first fundraising activity and it's like people couldn't care less about it. I've been going out of my way to help and to get other ex...

How to set up a neighborhood project to fix our park? Posted Sunday July 19 2009, 8:38 am
We have a park in our neighborhood. Haha, yup. Recently the slide got broken so they are going to add another, and they put up stuff so that people can't ride it as well as several notices explaining what was going on and that they were going to add a new one. it also had a phone number of someone if you wanted extra info or something. I've been thinking of calling the person to talk about my idea to fix up the park. like it would be great for college admissions if like teens in the neighborhood get involved, and it sounds like a fun memorable thing to do to bring our neighborhood more together. cause our park is pretty crappy. All that is there is a tire swing, 4-way seesaw with baby size seats, a dumb slide, a bench, a place for playing i...

Fundraising Ideas? Posted Saturday November 10 2007, 3:08 pm
Okay, so, I really want to go on this People to People trip this summer. Problem is, it's $6,000, and we can't really afford that. A lot of people can't either, so they do fundraising. Any ideas? I went to a meeting today and the guy had an idea; send a letter to as many people as possible, asking for a donation of $50. In return, you would send them a postcard from your trip. Any other ideas as to what I can do?
Thanks :]

Fundraising Ideas Posted Wednesday October 10 2007, 7:47 pm
For a senior class trip we are going to Grad night at Disney World in Florida. Anyway, the trip will be roughly $600 a person. As you can see, it's a pretty expensive trip. It's actually really good for all it includes (meals, bus, hotel, etc.)
Anyway, the students who are going need to come up with some fundraising ideas to help us lessen the price. Unlike with clubs and such we don't have any starting money. We need ideas where we can do things with nothing. (The school has NO money to start us out with and we don't want to risk losing money if the idea fails).
So, any suggestions would be really helpful.
We've come up with a car wash, but I live in NC and where I live there is a drought thing going on and th...

an event to raise money for HIV/AIDS Posted Wednesday April 4 2007, 11:07 pm
I want to raise money by sending the message to my school about an event. For instance someone at my school had bands come in for free and the public had to pay a certain amount of money and that money went to support breast canccer. I want to do that but I don't want to have bands come in and I've tried googling in event fundraising but I couldn't really find any ideas. Theres carwash and stuff but I want something so the public would be entertained and interested to come. I was thinking maybe a dance and the crowd would pay 10 dollars and that money would go towards preventing HIV/AIDS. But I don't think a dance would be that great and I wouldn't know where to hold it because I can't at my house and I think it would turn out to be a disaster. What are some ideas.

Hey everyone.
Well our choir instructor wants us to do a bunch of fundraising. The thing is the stuff that he picks is very boring and typical that we don't want to do it and he gets mad about it.
Like bottle and can drives and selling cookie dough and such.
Does anyone have some good and FUN fundraising we can do?

FCCLA Posted Wednesday January 25 2006, 9:30 pm
Okay, I'm not sure how many of you have heard of FCCLA (Family, Career, Community Leaders of America) But some friends and I have recently joined the club after participating in a few meetings. Well we're having trouble coming up with a fundraising event. We've already gotten school beautification down for our "help the school" event, we have an idea for charity (a easter egg hunt at the clubhouse in my neighborhood because I can get it for cheap pricing) But all we need left is a fundraiser event. We suggested car wash but out of the two teachers involved one is planning a wedding and the other is expecting grandchildren between now and like April (more than one of her children are expecting) so they said no events that can take ...

fundraising ideas... Posted Tuesday September 20 2005, 4:07 pm
i want to go to the UK with my friend on this trip as a student ambassador (because we both got accepted) but it costs a ton, like we need fundraising ideas. so far we have:
babysitting, bake sale, petsit, dog walking, watering plants/ rake leaves/shovel driveways, teaching people about the computer (AIM and stuff), lemonade stand, cookies, garage sale, make keychains, sell candy bars, homemade doggie treats, sell stickers, bracelets, car wash
Can someone please like tell me the name of a company that does fundraising ideas, or just give more ideas ? like suggest something else or tell me a compmany that lets you fundraise. like a girl at my school is selling chocolate for her choir group from this chocolate company...anyone know anything? thanks!
