Q: My mother bought me a beta fish (a Japanese fighting fish) and I have no idea how to take care of it. I got a book on how to take care of it, but you have to decode it (meaning I don't understand a word of it) The local veterenarians don't really know how to take care of these fish because not alot of their clients have fighting fishes. Does anyone on Advicenators know ANYTHING about these fishes? Do you know any sites where I can find information?

Betas are one of the simplest pets to take care of. all you do is feed it according to the food package( don't feed it more than the package tells you to). About once a week take a cup and get the fish out of the tank. pour the water out of the tank and then fill the tank back up with water. let the water sit for a least a hour so the water gets to room tempreature and its as simple as that.

Q: Hey I recently dyed my hair black and I was wondering if it will look good with red highlights. I have brown skin. if you have anyother colors that might look good please tell me. not blonde everyone has blonde i wand something different.

Red highlights look very good with black hair. My suggestion is to just highlight the frist little "clump" of hair and just dye that red.

Q: me and my boyfriend have been together for quite some time ((3 months)) and we have known each other since he was 15! he is 19 now & im 15... my parents think he is 16 and i hate lying to them but i love him and i want to be with him... how bad does this make me??

If you really love this guy then you need to have the courage to tell your parents that he's 19. That is big age differencefor someone your age. All you have to do is tell them that you really love your boyfreind and that nothing can keep you away from him but you need to tell them that he's not 16. Then they will most likely ask how old he really is so it comes to moment of truth tell them that he is really 19. hope I could be of some assistance.

Q: im fwb with this guy and were pretty good friends..and well christmas is coming up and he asked me what i wanted but i told him i didnt know..i thought it was kinda wierd he was gonna get me something..but anyway..so i guess that means were exchanging gifts..but i really like him ..like i love him..and i know he doesnt like me more then friends..so i want to get him something like special..but not like were going out..like thoughtful but not over the top..any suggestions?thanks tons

You should get him something that has to do with his intrests. If he likes to play sports get him a sports jersey or a football or a new baseball glove. A real present comes from the heart. If you do like/love him then you'll know what he would like that would be a special gift from the heart.Hope I helped.

Q: 16/f.... this may be a stupid question, but what are those people called that you talk to about your problems and you tell them everything and then they give you advice and everything is confidential. They do it for a living. Nothing SERIOUS is going on in my life (ex. I'm not pregnant, I don't go drugs, I'm not a lesbian, etc.), but I feel like I can't talk to my parents (about guys or whatever) I never have and I probably never will. I'm an only child and I've been the center of their lives for 16 years and I hate it. I always have...I wish I can share the spotlight with someone, but thats not going to happen. Sometimes I wish they didn't care about me AS MUCH as they do. I feel like I need to go see one of those people because I've kept so much inside of me all my life and now I think I need to deal with a professional who can help me. And I'm afraid of a lot of things (I always have visions of disturbing things in my head, but thats a different story). How can I tell my parents I need one of those people without hurting them?

Frist of all your thinking about a consuler.In order to tell your parents that you want to talk to a consuler tell them that you have some problems that you want to talk about but you need to talk to someone other than a parent or a friend.

Q: Okay i had my winter dance tonight and this guy asked me to dance. I was speechless and i couldn't say anything. Then he goes "you know what fine, whatever" and i'm like "no come back! Okay i will dance with you i will i'm so sorry!" but, he just ignored me. I had my friends go and ask him to dance for me but he ignored them. I went over and said "Okay i am really sorry and i wish i could take it back but will you dance with me?" He walked away and i knew i had really hurt him. My other friend went over and asked him why he was being like this. He said " you want me to just say okay and dance with her?" and she goes "yea just please she feels like crap come on. And he just screamed a her saying "TOO BAD!" Then i felt it the pain he had felt. I was so sorry but he wouldn't let me tell him. He just ran back into the croud. I looked for him all over but couldn't find him. Then the last dance came and i started to cry. He saw me and sad "now you know how i feel" and went away. Now i feel like CRAP!! i am so sad, and mad and i should have said yes. I am so sorry i need to tell him that but i dont have him # or his e-mail or anyother thing i could reach him by. I feel bad but i dont know why. If it was just a regular guy i would have been okay but its not it was one of my friends and i am so sad. Do i like him? What can i do for him to forgive me? Will he forgive me? Should i ask him to dance at our new dance coming up? i have no idea! Please Help!!!! I'll rate high!!!!! The first thing you need to do is give him time to think about everything. Then try looking in the phone book for his address or phone # and try to apoligize. Tell him that you just so shocked that he asked you that you didn't know what to say and that your really sorry for what happened but you hope that you can make things right betwen the two of you.

Q: My husband and I were talking the other day and he said that if he died he would not want a funeral. I was shocked. Of course he should have a funeral, it's a great way for family and friends to say goodbye. I feel it is more for the family of the deceased anyway. He disagrees, and is shocked that I would not respect his wishes. Who is right here? And if he did die, what are we as a family suppose to do? I would like the love and support of my faamily.

frist of all it is right to respect the last wishes of someone. But i see your point of veiw also. It helps most people to get through a time of death if they go to the funeral because its a time to say goodbye to the person who died. You also can see that the person looks peaceful and that they have moved on to a better place.In this case you both are right but the only way to solve this problem is to talk about it. You never no when someone is going to die and there is no possible way to tell for sure. Try making a compromise with husband. Like if when he dies then maybe only very close family will attend the funeral. this is the best I can tell you but I hope everything works out for the best.

Q: I'm not sure what to give my 1 year old child for breakfast. He is allergic to eggs and I don't think those baby jar foods of mixed cereal and oatmeal fill him up that much. Anyone have any ideas??

Try giving him some oatmeal or a pop tart. The pop tart may also help with teething if he is still or has not yet begun teething.

Q: Me and my best friend were having such a good time, going out away from our children together and then her b'friend goes and gets jealous. Jealous of me, like I'm competition for him or something...I'm not unless she's looking for a lesbian relationship, jesus christ!! So now she feels like she can't talk to me, she even hung up on me tonight!!!!! She said her b'friend doesn't want her to dress up or put on makeup when she goes out...WITH ME!!! Her bf may be think that when you two go out then your trying to pick up guys or going to bar "checking guys out" I don't think that he thinks that you and your friend dating. It may be that he is afraid of loseing her to another girl.

I have this little problem. See, I like this guy but he has a girlfriend. I know that there's definatly something between us because he came to my house the other day and we totally kissed!! (YaY!) But see, his girlfriend & me are not the BEST of friends, but we are friends. I feel kinda weird because I know that its wrong but WHO CARES! HaHa.. anyways! If you tell this guy that you like him then you're only expressing your true feelings for him. If he does like you and decides to leave his gf then its not your fault you didn't tell him to leave his gf and you didn't try to break them up you just told him how you felt.

Just because bf wants you to do something that your not ready for that doesn't mean you have to. Try telling him that your not ready for that yet, but you love him and you hope he'll understand.

Q: 2day my family and i(14) found out that my older sister (27) has a tumour down there, and is supposed to be haveing surgery in a week. after that they will be putting her on keimotherapy(sp?) and well if none of those cure her, she will then only have 1 more year to live..im so scared of loosing her!

Its o.k. to feel scared. its the only natural thing. But remember one thing you're not alone, your parents are going through the same thing. Your sister is most likely ten times more afraid. You need to just hope for the best and pray to God that everything will be alright.I really hope everything works out for your family.

I know how you feel there have been plenty of guys that either I have liked or one of my friends has liked that already have gf. My suggestion to you is to try sending signals to him like when you pass him in the hallway try just taking a long "glance" at him.

Q: Okay last night my best friend dylan called me up and we started talking. He told me that his mom wants to put him in rehab bc she found an empty bottle of tekila in his bedroom and the night she found it, he came home drunk. He and I dont see eachother or talk as much as we used to but I know that he smoked weed and drinks. I just dont kno how much he does it. He really worrys me when he tells me things like this and I think that he needs to get checked into rehab or go to a clinic or something. I really am worried about him and IDK how to confront him about what he is doing. I love him and want to help him out, what do I do?

One thing that you need to do is make sure that he doesn't influence you into trying drugs or drinking. You might want to start by telling him that you're worried about him and that you want to help him get help for his problems. If possible try talking to his mother and telling her that you want to help in any way you can as long as it means helping him.I hope that I have been some help to you.

Q: I'm a 13 grl and I'm really self concious about my body. I always think I'm fat but my friends say I'm not.. But I think they r just being nice.. I've thought about becoming anerexic. First of all stop. You can make yourself very sick by not eating. In some cases you could kill yourself. If your worried about your weight then ask your regular physician how much you should weigh and if your not at that weight then get him or her to tell you what you can do to lose some pounds. Like I said before don't stop eating!

Q: I've been going out with this guy for about 1 month and a half. He cusses me out every once in a while for stupid reasons. But other days hes as sweet as can be. 3 of my friends say I should break up with him, but I love him a lot. Today, when school was out, he seen me and stayed like 50 feet from me and wouldn't even come over and talk to me. It's like he always trys to ignore me. It's just weird how he can be nice one day and an ass the next..whats wrong? Is it him or me? What should I do? Should I listen to my friends? Or stay with him?? hey. I think that you need to really make the desision. You need to think about it and see if it is really love. It also sounds like your boyfriend may have a few issues. These issuses could be from family problems or it could be that he's trying to protect you from something. Like I said before you are the only one who can tell if this is true love or not.
