I'm a 13 grl and I'm really self concious about my body. I always think I'm fat but my friends say I'm not.. But I think they r just being nice.. I've thought about becoming anerexic. I know how it hurts ur body and stuff but I dont care. I've eaten less in tha last few days. Am i becoming anerexic? How do you know if you are?

You can also go to your doctor and ask her if you're at a healthy weight for your age. Right now, you're not anorexic. To be anorexic, you don't eat at all. Don't become anorexic! People die. It's not safe. You are wasting the beautiful body that God gave you. It's not worth it at all. When you are anorexic, you are being selfish to your body. You can lose weight by eating healthy, Lots of veggies and fruits, grains, meats, and not a lot of sugar.
Do your friends and family a favor, and don't become anorexic. God gave you this body, and to thank him, you can treat it well.
American magazines tell girls that being skinny is the only way to be beautiful. That's not true. Look at girls and women around you. That's what beautiful is. Everyone has a different body. You should be proud of it. Love yourself and love your frineds. To me, that's living a good life. Don't become anorexic.

I don't think there's a sure way to know if you are but I would definitely talk to a parent, counselour ,a friend, anyone! Just tell them what you said here... They'll be happy you came for help and will support you..
Loverx33 answered Wednesday December 8 2004, 8:56 pm: i have the same problem. i AM skinny but i just feel BLAH! many girls have this problem. dont stop eating, i mean i really havent eaten a FULL meal in a week, and i feel sick. i just havent been hungry. ur body needs food, so dont make this problem. excersise more if yu want to lose wieght hunni! good luck babay!

You shouldnt do it, have you been trying to eat less or are you just eating less? Sometimes i eat less then usual but i dont not want to eat im just not hungry.
If your annerexic you will not eat any meals during the day { i've heard} just remember that anerexic is a serious eating disorder disease and you can get really sick. The only thing to do to " get skinnier" is to go on a appropriate diet. Just member that it doesnt matter wut you look like on the outside it matters bout the inside!!!

When I was 13 I wanted to become anerexic too, but I didnt want to die. Most girls think their fat, when their really not. I'm a 14 year old girl, and ive had those exact same thoughts. my friends tell me im not fat whenever i suggest it, and i still find it hard to belive them sometimes, but im working on it. anorexia is NEVER the answer. it can take years, even decades off your life. do you want that? to die at 40 because you were anorexic as a teen?
i had i friend who was anorexic. it started out as just a diet. she seemed to be doing alright. i never suspected it. She was thin, tall, gorgeous and healthy-looking. it was impossible to believe that in her mind, she thought she was fat. I never knew that my friend, one of the best i ever had, would loose her life from anorexia.
anorexia is SERIOUS MENTAL ILLNESS.
now, if you still feel that you need to loose weight, eat healthy and get some excercise. join a sports team, if you havent already. youll be amazed at how much better you feel about yourself.
next time you look in the mirror, remember this: anorexia is NEVER a solution. eating less is proven not to work. its EATING RIGHT that counts.
now, back to your last two questions. no, i dont think you're become anorexic, yet. However, you sounds like you could. DONT!!!!!!!! please NEVER surrender to anorexia. theres really no way to know for sure if your become anorexic, other than thinking you very fat when people say your not at continuosly eating very little or not eating at all.
KeLsEy__x3 answered Wednesday December 8 2004, 7:50 pm: being anorexic is probably one of the worst things you can do to yourself besides bulemia. if you want to lose weight, go to the gym or go running. and if you dont eat breakfast in the mornings your matabelism will eventually slow down and you will gain more wight. SO EAT. you are only anorexic if every time you look in the mirror you think your extremly fat and stop eating.. if your just eating less.. then that ok. but if you just stop eating then thats not!! I'm not trying ot be to blunt about this but I'm just letting you know...Don't ask you friends if they think your fat. It will drive then crazy. I had a friend that did that like everyday and i can't stand to talk to her. SO STOP! And becoming anerexic is the losers way out and you don't want to be a loser do you? NO! Try takling to an anerexic person and i know you'll change your mind about becoming one. And don't just stop eating b/c then you'll gain more weight. FunnyCide answered Wednesday December 8 2004, 7:41 pm: ok, im not gonna get sappy or whatever - thats not my thing. but heres how it sounds to me: you are probly not fat, if you think that you are overweight, it may be like, 3 or 4 vanity pounds. if you think that you are seriously obeise and overweight, dont get anerexic, that can kill you. it will kill your life (social life - you will lose your friends) and people will think less of you. you could be on your way to becoming anerexic, but trust me - thats not what you want. you need to eat right (that doesnt mean a leaf of lettuce for supper only that you dont eat the cake, just a salad thanks) and exersize. (dont over do it!) just ride a bike or do areobics etc. 30 min a day at least 3 days a week. its not a good idea to do heavy streneous exersise every day, leave sunday to rest (well, any day is good, but because God rested on the seventh day - sunday - and said to remember the sabbath and keep it holy and that we shouldnt work on sunday, that is a good day to choose) if you are craving a snack, get an apple instead of a cookie. fruit is loaded with natural sugar that will keep you going and digests more slowly than junk food so that you have a longer waiting time between times that you are hungry. you may want to tell your best friend and she can help you keep this on track. you can even join a gym that can offer classes to help, if you think that you are becoming anerexic, tell your parents and see a doctor.

Theres a difference between eating healthy or dieting and anoerexia. Anoerexia is when you only eat a carrot for the day..etc. Do you have a scale at home? Suden weight loss is another sign. Have confidence in yourself and if your truly unsatisfied and your overweight or somethin..then make adjustments like eating healthier.
