sorry this is so long! but any help is appreciated!

for the past 2 weeks i have had 3 hour soccer practices every day. sometimes we had an extra 2 hours in the evening. the practices go like this:
1 hour conditioning: stairs, sprinting, laps, agility ladders.
the second hour is scrimages and the third is drills that consist of mainly dribbling and running with some sprinting.

OK!! now for my question!

after the first couple of days i had lost about 6 pounds. then i started slowly gaining back but i dont feel like im getting "fatter" if anything i feel more in shape than i've ever been. and my diet isnt anything astounding i get recommended amount of calories, if not more, mainly from protiens and stuff i dont eat candy or drink soda.

COULD I HAVE GAINED WEIGHT IN THE FORM OF MUSCLE?

Just like the other 2 people said, muscle weighs more than fat. You're probably gaining muscle. I don't know if you are a boy or a girl, but you're not going to get huge. You're not lifting weights, and, if you are a girl, most girls don't have enough testosterone to get big. A body fat test would be good. The scale isn't going to help a lot here, since muscle weighs more than fat and you might end up weighing more than when you started unless you were overweight.

Try putting an anti-itch cream or gel or something on them. Also, when you get bit, don't even touch the bite. I know that it's easier said than done, but I leave them alone and they are usually gone in about 1-2 hours. When you scratch them so much that they bleed, there will probably be a scar or a mark there.


Up until the end of seventh grade I was flat as a board, then my boobs litterally shot out over night and continued growing all summer. Adolescent boys are usually immature and are very fascinated with female breasts because they are bigger than their chests. Usually young boys only care about breast size. I'm 15 and a guy, and I've been through that, but now it doesn't matter that much me. So when boys are doing it, it's because they are interested in your breasts. I'm guessing that you're in ninth grade. I've heard that the average bra size in the United States is a 34C. You should be proud of them and maybe show some cleavage . You can't use tissues to make that. However, I'm not saying to be a big slut. On the other hand, girls that do it are probably jealous. I'm not a girl, but girls are always stressing about the size of their boobs. You should consider yourself lucky that other girls want your chest. Besides, who would stuff to fill a C cup, that's a lot of tissues.

Do anything cardiovascular (anything that requires endurance), like running, swimming, jump roping, you get the idea. Those low-carb fad diets usually don't work. You need carbohydrates, but not a lot more than you will use. Get carbs from sources such as whole-grain breads and pastas, fruits, vegetables, milk, and meat (which is also a good source of protein). Stay away from refined carbohydrates, these are the bad ones. They are usually found in white bread, sugar (pop/soda, candy), and pasta that isn't whole-grain or whole-wheat. Search the internet for more, I'm just giving you some ideas for the basis of a weight-loss diet. Don't get too much fat, but you still need some. I would also suggest using protein powder as well. Even though you aren't going for muscle, your body still needs protein because even if you're not lifting weights, any form of exercise breaks down your muscles. Some powders also contain essential amino acids. As I said before, cut back on the sugar. Avoid desserts and stay away from candy and sugary pop or soda, whatever you want to call it. Diet pop is OK, though. Keep yourself hydrated with water. I've heard of people losing 6 or 7 pounds a week. But that's because of fluid loss, not fat loss. I know that I took a long time, but you might find this last piece of information helpful. One pound of fat is equal to 3500 calories. So that means that you would need to either need to eat 500 less calories or burn 500 more a day to lose one pound of fat in one week. Also, you need to burn more calories than you eat. One last thing, your metabolism will increase from regular exercide, so you will end up burning more calories and I've heard that doing cardio in the morning will use stored fat for energy instead of stored food. Try your state university. You also might want to look at the colleges that you want to go to and make sure that they have the classes that you need. Also, learn more about their programs and if they are accredited and have a good reputation. I'm a sophomore in high school and I want to either be a surgeon and then after enough experience, become a cardiothoracic surgeon, or I want to be a doctor. I'm looking for colleges right now. Your state university will probably have the most choices. Be sure to check the job outlook for these occupations, too. There will always be a need for doctors and surgeons, but I have read that anesthesiologist has one of the lowest number of available jobs per year. Hope I helped!


yesterday i was in the tanning bed (wearing goggles)

i felt a bug or sumthin fly on me so i took my google off to get the bug off. they were only off like 2 mins.

now, i have something on one eye that looks like pink eye and it hurts really bad. was it from the tanning bed or just pink eye? (link)
If UV light is intense enough, it will fry your eyes. I'm not sure if you have pink eye, because I think that pink eye usually itches. But it's not a bad idea to get your own goggles.


how much exercise is enough to keep you in shape?? i've been an athlete ever since 3rd grade, but recently i sprained my ankle and it turns out i have a chronic ankle sprain. my parents thought it would be best to take the season off, or just not play. i can run forever, but i just can't turn it. would running 5 days a week for 30 minutes a day on the tredmill plus crunches and the 6 inches stretch be enough?? i eat 3 meals a day and sometimes one snack, sometimes i don't have a snack. any opinions??

I sounds good, just make sure that you are consuming about as many calories as you are burning. Also, get enough protein. You can damage your muscles if your body doesn't have enough protein to use to help rebuild muscle. I have heard that you should get anywhere from .5 to 1.5 grams of protein per pound of body weight per day. But too much isn't good. The protein is in your blood, and your kidneys have to filter your blood. One of the hardest jobs they have is to filter out unused protein. Your kidneys can grow weaker over time from this stress, and continued over-consumption of protein will eventually lead to kidney failure. Trust me, I am starting a weight training program to build muscle and I asked the doctor about how much protein I should get a day. It doesn't matter if you want to build muscle or not, your muscles will eventually get damaged or be more prone to injury if you don't get enough protein.


Next year I will be a senior and I want to try out for the football team. I only want to kick the ball. The only problem is I'm a female that stands at 5'3 120 pounds. I know of many female kickers in college as well as highschool so the coaches can't so much discriminate. I want to become the best kicker in the school. Can someone please give me some tips. Do leg stretches, practice kicking a football or a soccer ball, and strengthen your legs and butt. Work on your calves, but most of your power comes from your thighs and your butt. Do leg lifts and squats. Also, while you're at it, start working out. The coach will like you even more if you are strong. Kickers at times may be the last resort for tackling. Just because you lift weights doesn't mean that you will get bulky. Lifting a couple of times a week will make you stronger, but you won't gain muscle mass. You could get an external hard drive to store them, but that could be a little expensive. Also, you could put them on DVD-RW's (re-writable). You can add and delete stuff from the DVD's. It also sounds like your computer might not have enough memory to run all of that stuff. If that is the problem, you may want to consider upgrading and buying more memory. It is probably low memory if you still have a decent amount of space left on your hard drive but the computer runs slow. Hope I helped!

Eat healthy and get excercise. NEVER starve yourself, because not only do you not get nutrients, but it also lowers your metabolism. Metabolism is when your body burns off calories. If your metabolism is low, not a lot of calories will get burned. I'm assuming that you're a girl because you want to tone up. Try running or pretty much anything cardiovascular. Cardiovascular excercises burn fat, calories, carbohydrates, and sugar. Remember, if you don't eat right, you probably won't lose any weight, even if you still excercise. To get motivated, think about the results that you will get if you work hard. Excercising also has several benifits. You will have more energy, not get tired as easily, sleep better, and have more confidence, among others. You might want to think about trying pilates. Also, try this link

Okay well i have this face wash and it works well to controll my acne and i use it twice a day but it doesnt get rid of the ones i have, it just makes sure no more come. my family doesnt have a lot of money to be buying a whole bunch of expenisve face cleaner so i was wondering in anyone knew any around the house cleaners that work? or ideas of cheaper wash that works well?

I have heard that lemon juice closes your pores. Try putting rubbing alcohol on your trouble areas of your face. Also, it may sound weird, but toothpaste works, too. Put some on a small area of your face at night and cover it with a band aid. You may have to do this a few times, but it does work for me. The calcium in the toothpaste dries the skin, and the fluoride kills bacteria. Hope I helped!

I have read that girls can get their period anywhere from age 11 to 15, but there are probably some exceptions to that. Ask your mom when she got her first period. Chances are that you will get it at about the same time that she did.

Go to Best Buy or Circuit City if you have them where you live. They always have all kinds of rebates and you can get some phones that are free or cheap, but you need to sign a 2 year contract.


I'm curious about the written part of the driver's test. The one when you get your permit and study the book, and when passing it you can legally drive with a parent or whatever.

Soo.. about the test. Here are the questions..

1) How long is it? (Approximate number would be excellent)
2)[From your opinion] Is it Easy, Moderate, or Hard?
3) How long did it take you?
4) What kind of questions were on the test? Were there any tricky unexpected ones, or purely common sense?

I'm curious because I am about to take it soon and I want to be prepared. Any response would be greatly appreciated. But write back ASAP -- I'm planning on taking the test this weekend (most likely.)

In Minnesota, you need 32 out of 40 to pass. As soon as you get 32 right you stop. I got exactly 32 right. I got a lot of trick questions. Just read the question carefully and read ALL the answers and you should be fine.

Go to cars.com. Have someone that knows about cars go with you to check the car. Also, I know that most teenagers don't get a brand new car, but I have read somewhere that if you buy a used car, you can expect to pay around $1000 for repairs and replacement parts in the first year. Furthermore, you should figure out how much insurance and gas will cost.

Those energy drinks are full of sugar and caffeine. They might give you a boost of energy, but you will get tired from the sugar and caffeine dehydrates you. For bars, try a bar called Nature Valley. They are with the granola bars at the grocery store. They have a lot of carbohydrates and I think that they are good. Try to find something with a lot of carbohydrates, but if it has protein in it it's better because protein will help rebuild your muscles.
