Ask me whatever, I dont care. I usually just answer random questions. I can usually give pretty good info.
Please understand that if my answer is in any way insulting, annoying, or "not what you wanted to hear," it's because I am answering as HONESTLY and OBJECTIVELY as possible. Note that I AM supposed to be an OUTSIDER to the problem, brought in to be a MODERATOR for your issues.

my name is Rachel and iam a 16 year old girl and my problem is that my friend we'll call her trina she's always asking me for money and I don't know what to do? (link)
|
If you've given her money in the past, why not ask her to pay off what she already owes you before you'll loan her anymore?
Or simply say that you won't do it anymore. Will it hurt your friendship? Maybe a little. But (and I say this not knowing "trina") is it a real friendship, or is it based on your money?
|
What would you do if your boyfriend that you really like hates your best friend, and he cursed her out for no apparent reason? What would you do? This is my situation. please help. I will rate! (link)
|
I've actually had this problem...
I reccomend either:
1) Try to act as a moderator. Maybe you can't make them like each other, but you can at least keep it civil.
2) Try to keep them separate. I know it's very hard to hang out with two people at two different times, but it's better than being in the company of two people who keep jumping at each other's throats (it's actually not healthy to be in that situation x-x)
Also, if one or the other brings up an issue (ie, your boyfriend starts ranting about how much he can't stand your friend), quickly (but nicely!) change the subject. This is one of those cases where that silly little rule, "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all", actually makes sense to use.
Hope it was helpful ^__^

I want to learn to play the violin. I own one already, two in fact. I don't have money for lessons and they aren't offered for free at school but I really want to learn. I've tried teaching myself, but in the past it hasn't worked. I've always given up without that initial drive to learn that comes with lessons. It's like I need someone forcing me to do it. My parents have never really been supportive of me learning any instrument and it's unfair that they were both given opportunities in school to play and I haven't. I want to play so badly that I cry myself to bed at night over it. But I have no way to learn. (link)
|
You definitely need to learn. Have you tried to earn money at all? If you're over 11 and there are small children (under your age) in the area, you can babysit (aka kidsit if the kids are insulted by babysit). yeah, if you're a guy (and sorry, but I don't know), then it may be frowned upon a bit, but there shouldnt' be any problem. I do reccomend starting by sitting for relatives if possible, starting off like that can give you a starting point to show people you're trustworthy.
If you're over 15, you can get a part time job with certain restrictions.
Even trying very hard to get some kind of job can convince your parents that you're mature enough and determined enough to learn that they may give in and agree to it, knowing that you're not going to start (with them paying!) and then just drop it for something else.
from your question, it looks like you REALLY want to play the violin, but maybe your parents want some proof that you'll work hard at it.

ok... i have a guy friend & i think bout him 24/7
we have known eachother for bout 1 month but didnt start to talk till 2 weeks ago..so i let him hit it the next day after we 1st talked. ( i know i shouldnt of but i wanted some) & since then we have been pretty close.n-e-way for some reason i say i dont like him & when we kiss i dont see fireworks or nothin. i dont think i like him, but if i didnt then why i spend all day thinkin bout him.he had 2 different situations goin on his gurl & then me. so i told him i didnt want to be on the side. so when i decided not to talk to him i got off the phone for the last time & i started cryin. i guess im havin mixed emotions or somethin. but some1 plz tell me how u think i feel bout this guy................p.s im 16...~1~
(link)
|
1)nice move genius
2)1 month but only 2 weeks ago?????? and you think you love him? sorry, hon, "love at first sight" doesn't work out very often. wait a while before you decide--just because he's "dreamy" doesnt mean he's Mr Perfect. Wait and see if the feeling fades--if it does before 6 months, you probably don't want to worry about the "intimate relationship" which you have apparently already entered. Try just talking to him. If you cant get him to listen to your voice and carry on a decent, intelligent conversation, you're screwed on any real relationship with him--especially if he's not looking at your face or away from you entirely (if in certain cultures where looking at another's face is badbad).
PS: 16???????????? c'mon, where is your common sense?? hell, I have no common sense by most standards (mine is mostly just rules of algebra as opposed to "rules of life") and I think that's pretty dumb, getting that worked up. Yes, I have a boyfreind, yes we love each other very much, but we haven't done anything at all except sit together, hold hands, kiss. that's it. nothing beyond that. THough he does make excuses to look at my shirts. something about the baby snow leopard staring at him... but we do carry on conversations. And it's looking up.
I may be younger than you, but anyone under 25 should know not to do that so soon.
---
THe REAL advice:
the whole "thinking about him 247" and "I dont think I like him but I think about him all the time" things...thats just plain instinct. that's your natural instinct to procreate. with that, you can think anyone is the "most perfect guy in the world". But if you ignore it till you really know someone, you'll be happy with that person even when the feeling fades.

yes or no? (link)

you need to get a life, you moron, and stop wasting time

My girlfriend nevers lets me cuddle her. Even trying to hold her hand is a hassle. Why won't she let me just put my arm around her or something? I'll never understand, because I know she really really cares for me. What do you think? ;) (link)
|
Surely she does like it, but doesnt like it during certain times, like if she's trying to eat or do homework/projects. Maybe it would also help to stop laying in her lap. THat's very uncomfortable.

All the grocery stores near me are on strike or soon will be. I was thinking about Target, which is a discount dept. store down the street from me. I have a friend that works there. Or Smart and Final which is a warehouse store. I have a friend there that I used to work with at the grocery store. I also have worked in restauraunts, so I could work at one close to home. I need to save money to go back to school and finish my child development credits, so I can be a pre-school teacher. I might even try for a job at my daughter's school. I'm not working illegal and I'm 34. They just favored the newer employees at my store, and I should've left a long time ago, because they didn't appreciate my good customer service skills. Well, what do you think is my best option? (link)
|
then why cant you drive? just curious
anyways, I honestly don't know much about business. that sounds like a good idea; working at the warehouse store. really, almost any job is good if it pays well and doesnt cheat you. I honestly can't help you much, i'm all the way across the country and hafta get up in the morning and go to school and stay after till about 9 because of STUPID international festival
I'm really sorry I'm not helping much
|
i find myself always in the wrong, adn my finace never hears me out and makes me feel so horrible, i dontfeel like mysefl and if i cry its wrong
(link)
|
1)grammar and spelling again (why cant anyone get it right??)
2)what is a finace?
now to the actual advice:
1)if youve got such a problem with him, give him the ax. boot him out. your way or the highway. If you two cant get along, get out of the relationship.
|
I was one of the striking grocery workers here in southern california until I got fed up and decided I don't want to picket anymore. The company is trying to cheat us out of our health benefits and I'm really sick of the place anyway. I don't like most of the people I work with because they are sleazy and immature, and I've been there for over six years in the lowest position and am unappreciated. Right now, I'm broke, and I'm thinking that if this strike ends soon, I'll go back temporariy until I can find something better. What do you think? I'm limited in where I can work because I don't drive. Help! (link)
|
1)go work at another grocery store if that's where you know how to work
2)I dont reccomend going there if theyre cheating you out of health benefits
3)are you working illegally or something? six years in a job, the youngest you can possibly legally is 20

oh please learn to use a dictionary!!!
put bluntly:
it's a feeling of pleasure caused by sex.
it was sort of built in with biological setup to make sure the species doesnt die out.

i'm 10 and just got pregnat. young?... i know! Should i tell my parents?
(link)
|
you should definitely tell your parents, if you dont tell them now theyll know later(and probably get angry that you hid it from them!).
I'm really sorry to hear you are in such a situation. but at 10 years old; well, I've never heard of such a thing, actually! 15 and up is common now, but 10! wow, I'm sorry
anyways, I'm not gonna ask how it happened, since the answer to that is obvious; but I will suggest this:
1)I assume you know, but make sure you know who "did it". He cannot just drop his responsibility for your problem, seeing as he is half of it.
2)try to get help from your parents. you may think this is unlikely, as you would be a disgrace to them (probably), but unless they are cruel, they definitely won't disown you or anything like that!
3)I am personally against abortion, but this situation... man. Its enough to make a liberal into a conservative!
hope I helped a little!!

Last night I was with my girlfriend and I kept thinking to myself "kiss her"! On the cheek of course. Yet I feel I'm too young and this relationship may be moving kinda fast. What's your opinion? (link)
|
I suppose it's a good thing you didnt just do that on impulse. Things can get screwy if all that goes on too soon. The flowers are nice though, despite the teasing.

2years ago my mum went on hoilday and left me at home with her bf. one night ewarly in the morning i heard my bedroom door open when i leend over to see it was her bf in a shirt and undies. i screamed and he shouted sorry and slamed the door but i new it wasnt a dream coz you have to lift the door to shut it. I was so scared . now i lock my bedroom door and cart sleep i have to fall alsleep to the tv. last night he was at my door saying he didnt no who to go to bed with me or my mum how sick i cart tell my mum i no ur goin to say i much but i dont no what to do i have a bf but i cart talk to him hes older and lives in london he said i could go live with him but i dont have the cash i wanna get out of here i cart stay with my dad coz he died when i was young help (link)

1) grammar. you can't tell anyone the problem if they cant understand *glares*
2) you should definitely tell your mom about this, especially if he said that he didnt know which one of you to sleep with (once again, grammar issues).
Also, this counts as emotional abuse, seeing as it caused such distress, even after 2 years.

1)CHILL. You're (almost) 14, and you're acting like you've been proposed to. YOU HAVENT. You have a few years, so calm down. If he asks you out, good for you. if not, then he's probably not worth it. If you think he DOES like you and is just chicken, you can go and ask him. Who said girls cant ask guys out?
btw--I have HEARD that 2 years diff. is perfect for a lot of things--freinds, boyfreinds, siblings, spouses, etc. but you two have to "match up" for it to work too. don't rely on the stars or the years

My friend is really annoying. She's always complaining about everything. Her grandma spoils her rotten, so I know her life is not that bad. I want to tell her o shut up, but I don't want to hurt her feelings. What should I do? (link)
|
I had a situation like that a while back. I just said "lets compare, shall we?" then go through a list of things that happen in your life that are bad and things in her life that are bad.
if she's that spoiled, your list will be 20 times longer. if theyre the same length, then I suppose the Freud principle is at work here.
|
i hope i put this in the right category... anyhoo, here's my situation...
i know this guy (we're friends, but not close) and i THINK he 'likes' my friend, but i'm not sure. he's pretty friendly with everyone, and it may just be me being paranoid, but i think he's being kinda flirty with her. AND i think she's being that way back to him. now my friend has never been out with anyone before but i think they both 'like' each other, and i'm not sure i like what's happeneing. how do you tell if a guy really likes someone or if that's just their nature? what does everyone think? what would you do if you were in my shoes? (link)
|
if you're just friends, chill. it could cause problems, but if yall are all good freinds, there shouldnt be too much problems

What's the appropriate response when someone e-mails you a question that's addressed in your site's Frequently Asked Questions page? See, I've got this forum up at spacefem.com and people just don't seem to understand the benifits that come from clicking that "FAQ" link, they still bug us all the time. Should we shame them endlessly? Politely direct them to the FAQ page? Just answer their question and accept the fact that people on the internet can't seem to learn to read? (link)
|
say "please see FAQ section"
if it is adressed too commonly, put a sticky (like the Title thingy)

A friend of mine is getting married in a few months, and all she talks about is her freaking wedding. She's so annoying I just want to smack her. Some of our other friends feel the same way, others are all into this wanting to help plan and decorate and buy pretty white crap that I can't get excited about at all, because I'm just not a pretty white crap kinda girl.
She used to be so cool and normal, we'd talk about what was going on in the world, fun weekend activities, etc. Now she's wedding 24/7. What's wrong with her? How do I shake her out of cinderella land and get my friend back? (link)
|
She's just excited. The "pretty white crap" is SUPPOSED to mean "virgin, pure and white". kinda stupid, actually, a quote from one of my favorite British comedies: "It means I'm a virgin, pure and white...Stupid male fantasy. Sleep in a different room, Tom."
