From a 'black' person's POV
I don't get it. You can't blame someone for something their ancestors did in the past. And not every white person is even the descendant of slave owners, and not every black person is the descendant of slaves (w/ the whole American slave trade). Everyone has ancestors that did stupid sh** in the past. That is no excuse. Heck, everyone does stupid sh** anyways, cause humans aren't perfect.
Whenever the topic is brought up when I'm talking to my mom, she humphs. And it bugs me because I'm open to dating any race. I'm 16 and haven't had a boyfriend yet, but I wonder what my mom would think if the person isn't black, or even African (I'm Cameroonian). The only reasoning I've heard from her is that the people's are are too different, so they wouldn't get along. Which is silly because if people can be friends with people of different races and ethnicity, why can't they be lovers? Clearly they're able to have things in common with each other.
I find it silly that people expect others to treat them like equals and individuals when they scorn those who are more open-minded with their romantic relationships. Being in an interracial relationship doesn't mean you are selling out, or you hate being black. I think you're selling out if you confine yourselves to what society says. Black is just a skin color.. it doesn't come with coding telling you to act a certain way. And if someone doesn't follow this coding they hate the way they look, and want to have a different skin color. FYI, I love being black, and I love my Cameroonian heritage. Why do I have to listen to hiphop or date only black people to prove that to some people?
And I wouldn't marry someone that's not black just to get a bi-racial baby. I honestly feel thats really tacky. People should marry out of love, and with whoever its with the baby will be beautiful
I completely understand what you're saying. I am a white female and my boyfriend of almost a year is black. I love him with all my heart and I don't even pay attention to the race difference between us. people are very ignorant and can be so mean and hateful. my parents are fine with it ( my mom is actually married to a black man) but some of my other family doesn't approve and I hate it. I say if you can find a nice guy or girl that treats you right and has similar morals and beliefs as you than you shouldn't care about race. I have dealt with so much hate from people in both races about my relationship but the sad truth is that if you are going to be in an interracial relationship then you might have to deal with the hate and critisizems of other people but if that person is who you are supposes to be with then it's worth it :)

What can I say to my friend who had a miscarriage last week? It's just now hitting her and I dont know what to do. She has one child already but wants another one. I have 2, and feel bad bringing my baby around her because I dont want to rub it in that mine was ok.
Having a miscarriage is one of the most devistating things, I know since I have gone through two in the past 6 months. It's hard to make someone feel better but the beat thing you can do is just be there to listen. It will take awhile for her to move on, as it should, but don't feel bad for bringing your baby around her. Just be there for her. Good luck

NO NO NO NO NO! if you do that all of your hair will fall out i promise! i bleach and dye my hair alot so what you can do is go to a beauty supply store such as sallys or go on line to manicpanic.com by the stuff to bleach your hair. it will cost roughly 20 dollars and it will probably be enough to bleach your hair twicw depending on how long your hair is. hair bleach and clorox bleach are not the same thing so just be careful :) good luck

I am trying to calculate when I ovulate, and I keep being asked for my luteal phase. I have never heard of this before, and when I try to look it up it is defined as starting the day after you ovulate. If I knew when I was ovulating then I wouldn't be trying to calculate it.
I am so confused, and could really use a very simple explanation as to how to calculate my Luteal phase so that I can calculate when I will be ovulating.

oh if it helps my menstrual cycle is 27 days, and my last period was january 13th 2010 and it ended January 19th 2010.
I just started my period again today, february 9th 2010.

i understand what you mean, i was trying to do the same thing but i couldnt quite figure out how to claculate my luteal phase but i did find this pretty accurate ovulation calculator. google ovulating calender and its the 2nd or 3rd one that says OVULATION CALENDER-FREE TO USE. and it doesnt ask for your lteal phase, but just fyi an average womans luteal phase is 14 days. i hoped i helpped

well if you have like weed and coke separated into different bags or whatever they will charge you with possesion with intent to sell but id its not a ton and its all in one or two bags you might not be charged with being a drug dealer..it really depends on the cop and the judge.

I am a 19 year old. I know this is a fairly common question. But I am getting a bit concerned for my health. A few weeks ago my fiance and I had sex, during ovulation. Couple weeks passed, and I was due for my period. My period never came after a few days, so I tested one evening and it was a negative. Felt a little iffy, but relieved for the most part. Couple days afterwards I got a pinkish discharge. The next day I was discharging blood like a regular period. Was a little lighter than usual but I shrugged it off. Then a couple days ago, the discharge completely stopped. Today, still nothing. So my bleeding only lasted for a day. I have been waking up with some nausea, sore breasts, and still feeling tired even though I slept in today. My stomach feels a bit bloated, for the past few days at least.
Weird thing is my period always lasts 6-7 days, not 1 day. I usually get bad cramps but that's it. During that day until today, a little cramping but not much.
I have no medical insurance and I won't be able to get to a clinic until tomorrow or Friday to get tests. But in the meantime, I wanted to ask what it possibly could be, and what I can do until I head to a clinic.
My stress levels are also fine. I haven't been stressed out or depressed. I get some mood swings though. My periods are always regular.
I also posted this on Yahoo! Answers, but didn't get a lot of help from it. So if anyone could offer any decent advice that'd be great.

i completely understand what your going through, one time my boyfriend and i had sex during my ovulation and i didnt have my period that month and it was late for the next month but i kept getting negative pregnancy tests, well i was nauseus and my boobs hurt and i was bloting but it turns out i wanst pregnant. sometimes you feel these things just because you know its a possibility. now you might be pregnant but you might not, im sorry i cant help more but good luck with whatever the result is :) feel free to message me if you have any other questions :)

hi, today i just found out that i got a job at the sports authority. the only problem is im being subjected to a drug test on this coming monday. the last time i smoked marijuana was exactly 7 days ago. I am a frequent user but this past month i have not been smoking as often as usual. (lately only 1 to 2 times per week) I bought cranberry juice (not cranberry cocktail) and i went to the vitamin shoppe and bought Herbal Clean Q Carbo maximum strength detox. Do any of you have any tips on when i should drink this product and what else i could do to prepare for my drug test? Also, if i pee less than the amount they need me to and claim i cant go to the bathroom will that also help me pass the test?
ok well unlike the past two people i will actually answer your question :)
you should follow the directions on the detox bottle, when i had to take a drug test for a job i drank the detox when i woke up then filled the bottle up twice with watter and drank it. you have to pee 5 times before your pee will test as clean. not a little pee like a normal amoount 5 times, also after about 8 hrs your pee will go back to testing positive so make sure your test isnt more than 8 hrs from the 5th time you pee. only drink water and the less you eat the better, dont starve yourself just dont eat a ton. dont drink a ton of water after the 5th or 6th time you pee because then the test might come back deluted, but still drink water. and dont just pee a little bit because it shouldnt matter how much.

AHH!! no no no no! never ever ever use household bleach on your hair ever! hair bleach is only called bleach because it makes your hair a whitish blond. if you put household bleach in your hair you will have no hair left, it will fall out.
there are many places that sell hair bleach. bleach is composed of different parts you mix in an applicator to put in your hair.
if you live near a beauty supply store they will have it, if not go to a website

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was only 33 years old. I've heard such things as getting your first mammogram at 10 years younger than when your mother was diagnosed and then every few years. I also heard that I should start getting mammograms when I hit 21 since my mother had cancer. I am 22 now though and I haven't had a breast cancer screening yet. Should I get my first one at 22 or 23 or when?
Her cancer was so high up in her breast that it was not detected on a mammogram actually, and she found it herself during self-examination. She went through chemotherapy, radiation, and a partial mastectomy before the cancer was completely gone. It was REALLY hard on her!
I guess I should ask my gynecologist the next time I see him but that won't be for awhile and I'd like an idea of what I should be doing to protect myself from cancer. My mother became scared when I had 2 cysts a couple of years ago.

Well this boy who is 21 works with My father. Well I met him 2 weeks ago and they told me he was a good boy for me. Well Yesterday he told me to meet him somewhere so we can hang out. Well I did and he ended up taking me back home. Well on the way to My house he asked me out this weekend and I said yes. Well My father said that everyone is going to make fun of me because he is short. i'm 5'9 and he's like 5'2. I really like him and I don't think I should care what anyone says.

go to your dad and talk to him, tell him that you like this guy and that he treated you right. if you have a hard time doing that go to your mom or another women who is close to both you and your dad and tell her how you feel and maybe she can talk to him for you. he probably freaked out because he realized his daughter is dating, my dad does the samething and it doesnt matter how old you are your dad will freak out about boys always. dont let this ruin your relationship with this guy, if you really like him try to get your dad to understand and give him his job back.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew how to get your period to come faster.
I'm a week late, definately not pregnant, and it's usually normal for me, however I've been experiencing PMS pains for the last 10 days! My stomach and back are aching, I've had fevers (which I normally get as well because my period makes my body really overreact).
Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions on making it come faster? I tried exercising (helped last time) but it's not doing anything for me.

when i was 15 my cramps were so bad that i would throw up and i would be in bed my entire period. the doctor finally but me on birth control which helped regulate my period, made me have way less intense cramps and made my period shorter and on time. dont be embarassed to go on birth control no matter how old you are. it helps with your period and can be very beneficial if youre having/planning to have sex ever.

no. the brown is not unusual. but if you were pregnant yr period would be spotty and 1 to 2 days

my fiance and I have been trying to have a baby now for months and we're having a very difficult time. I just can't seem to get pregnant no matter how many times we have sex and how many times he ejaculates in me. its true that if you were on birth control it can take up to 5 or 6 months to get pregnant. you can buy tests at walgreens or wherever that tell you when the 2 days you ovulate are. try that and if that doesnt work than you should go to the dr and he or she can help you. also if you or yr fiance are stressed than that can have a huge effect on yr bodies. so just calm down and take one of those tests and you should be fine.
also doing a headstand doent help it just aggrivates you girlie.

Okay, well i have been doing alot of reasearch. And lately, i know that i need a therapist. I know i have a problem. A mental problem. But the problem is...I am only 13 in a half years old! if you think you need a theripist then you most likely do. sit down your parents and talk to them. a serious mature conversation. insurance can help cover the cost plus there are other things to help with that. you know what you need better than anyone else so take this seriously and just talk to them
