Is is true that when sperm meets air, it dies?

Absolutely 100% untrue.

Sperm takes a bit of time to die, anywhere from an hour or two to many hours.

Anyone who tells you it dies when it hits the air is either very misinformed or lying.

Not quite. Sperm dries out between half an hour and 4 hours after it gets outside the body. Once dry it dies.
