Every morning at basketball practice, we run about 10 laps? (6 minutes) and today we did 22 laps in a college sized gym. Do you know the equivalent in miles to that? (6 and 22 laps)

Not all gyms [[ even college sized ]] are the same size, so yeah, I'm really not sure. I'd guess about 8-1O laps to a mile, but I really don't know.

hey...ok im gona be a freshmen in hs. and ive played soccer ALL of my life. and im having a hard time deciding wherther or not i wanna play for my hs team. i mean soccers ok. im good at it and everything but its just getting old...and lyk i went to tryouts this past week and lyk all the freshmen kno eachother and i dont kno ANYONE and i feel soo stupid...and lyk the other thing ive been wanting to cheerlead all of my life. and i have all the abilities to do cheerleading cept im not flexible. and im short and i weigh 85 pounds so i think if by a chance i did make the cheerleading team i think i would def. be a flyer. and if i would have to choose between cheerleading and soccer i would definitly choose cheerleading. but im so much better at soccer. so my ? is...if i did try out for cheerleading do u think i would make the jv squad? and do you thnik i should still play soccer.? help!!

None of us have ever seen you cheer, so nobody can really tell you if you'd make jv or whatever. But are you sure you can still try out for cheerleading? Because most squads have their tryouts at the end of the previous school year. Maybe your school is different, I don't know. But you wouldn't necessarily be a flyer if you did make it, we have tiny girls on our squad who can base + stuff, too. But anyways, I'd give soccer a shot if I were you. You've done it for so long, and you'd probably be a good asset to the team. And you don't want to regret quitting later on -- I know I regret quitting a few things that I was quite good at at the time and then .. yeeeah. Bad decisions. But anyways, then [[ if your school has seperate tryouts ]] you could cheer basketball season and see which you like better or if you just want to do them both. I don't know, do what YOU really want to do.

Hmm. KK im 134 and im not even 5 feet is that fat. i think im fat. all my frined says that im not but there my friends. and i have been going around and stuff and a normal weight for a 5 foot person is 98-128 hmm i dunno.. paranoid..
and i just get a sick feeling knowing im like 6 pounds more. maybe lose the six pounds??

You're not FAT, necessarly, but it wouldn't hurt to lose a few pounds. Just start working out regularily + eating healthier, and it won't be thar hard =)

me and my friend are on a diet and it doesnt seem ti be working! we have tried the fruits and veggies diet but i doesnt help at all!

You need to exercise, too. Just eating healthily won't necessarily make you lose weight. And try drinking more water.

Do cardio -- running, tae bo, aerobics-ish activities. Don't do things with heavy weights or anything, because then you'll probably gain weight [[ it'd be muscle weight, so that wouldn't necessarily be bad, but yeeeah, since you want to lose weight .. ]]. And cut down on soda + junk food.

Try doing squats + leg raises to the back. Or gain some weight -- some of it'll go to your butt. Haha, they also make pants with butt pads, if you want to go that far.

hey yall. if i do 32 sit ups 32 squats eat fruit and veggies um..i dont eat lunch when i start school i hardly eat breakfast. but anyways and i use a bike thingie were u just sit and pedal haha and walk everynite after dinner and i excersize after every meal how long would it take to lose 100 pounds? also what else can i do to lose weight? thanks so much i love you guys lol.

If you lost an average of 2 pounds a week [[ I'm pretty sure that's the "recommended" amount or whatever ]], it'll take you just under a year to lose 1OO lbs.

Just eat healthily and do a decent amount of exercise, and the weight'll come off. Try using http://fitday.com/ to keep track of how many calories you're burning, etc. Don't get discouraged + don't go overboard with the exercise // dieting. Good luck! =)

Of course it works -- if you don't eat, you're going to lose weight. But it's also a great way to get an eating disorder.

What are some good ways to get stronger so it's easier to do back-handsprings??? I can do them with a spotter but then when I try doing them by myself, I land on my head all the time. Help me please!!!

Keep doing them with a spotter and work on them on an air track or tumble - trak and on cushy mats. Also, practice blocking // pushing with your shoulders either by doing a handstand against the wall or doing one and having your coach catch your feet, and then blocking like you should be during your bhs. Wall // partner pushups can help a lot too.

I've never heard that was true of *all* guys, and I'm pretty sure I've never heard a guy say it. I guess it's just a matter of preference .. some guys like it, some don't, and some could probably care less. I can't see how having a belly ring makes someone trashy, but that's just my opinion. Yeah, technically you're just a little bit overweight. [[ only 6 pounds ]]. It could be because you're really muscular, but yeah, if you think it's fat, you can / should try to lose a little weight. Do you exercise regularily? If not, just adding in a few hours of exercise a week could do it. You could also try cutting back on soda, fatty foods, etc, or start eating smaller meals // less snacks. If you manage to burn more calories than you take in, you'll lose weight.
