I am about to buy a car and I am FINALLY going to get what I've always wanted, a Jeep Wrangler. I really want it to be black and no newer than a 2006 model because I prefer the older looking ones to the newer ones. Last night, I went around looking at cars and found the perfect one except for one detail, it is manual and I've only ever driven automatic. Both of my parents know how to drive manuals and they would teach me if I needed them to, but is it hard to learn? Once you do learn, is it still much harder to drive than an automatic? (link)

Well once you learn, it becomes second nature. It's also better to learn a manual, because then you can drive both automatic and manual. When you drive automatics, the car does a lot of the work for you and so you forget how to drive when you have to do a lot of the work.
It is much trickier learning to drive a manual. You have to learn about changing gears, and the clutch, etc. With an automatic, you just press to go, and press to stop.
My advice? Ask your parents to teach you manual. See how you get on. It will take a bit of time. And if you really struggle, carry on looking for an automatic. But if you find it to be okay, then go for it and get the car.
Good luck!
