I'm Christina, and I'm 27. I tend to be brutally honest when I give advice or an opinion. I don't tell people what they want to hear but rather what they need to hear. Ok so my dad and the guy ive been dating for almost 2 years dont get along at all whatsoever. And i hate it. He cant come over when my dad is home. When we went to go on a date my dad told me he was going to keep us from hanging out at all to break us apart. My dad has no reason not to like this kid, and my boyfriend has tried to get along with him but my dad wont give him the time of day.
What do i do??? my dad is being a complete baby and anytime i say anything or he sees him he gets in a bad mood and its really annoying. ugh :/ btw 17 m && F

Your dad has only one reason not to like your boyfriend: He's with you. Parents tend to be really over-protective of their kids, especially when it comes to dating. Your boyfriend could be the nicest kid in the world, and your dad will still dislike him or have reason to believe that your boyfriend isn't good enough for you. Same situation with moms & their sons. No girl is ever good enough for their baby. That's just how parents are.
I don't think there's much you can do about this, but I would suggest trying to talk to your dad. Ask him to please not get upset & just try to hear you out. If he still acts like an asshole towards your boyfriend after your discussion with him, just ignore it & remember that you'll be 18 soon.
(Rating: 5) See but the thing is with my dad its different... I kinda started liking this kid over the summer (we were taking a break) and my dad loved the kid and still does. So i still dont understand why... But thanks =]
