Hi, I'm 16 f and lately I've been losing weight. There are a couple of reasons for it. The first is that my belly sticks out. In every picture I take my stomach protrudes and I want it to go away. The second is that during the summer I usually tend to eat more and I gain about 5lbs. Well this year I didn't want to. Also my boyfriend broke up with me this summer so I guess I lost my appetite. I've always been skinny. I'm 5'4 and I used to weigh at my max like 118lbs. I probably weighed around 113 or so about a month ago. But over the last month I went down to about 103 at the least. And honestly I loved it! I looked great and the belly was pretty much non existent. But my parents being the control freaks they are decided that I was losing "too much weight" and have started beefing me up (not literally because I don't eat red meat). Lately my mom has been increasing my portions of food and literally forcing me to eat. But it really isn't fair because I eat whenever they do but I get full easier so I guess I eat less. But their plan is working and I'm getting this lump on my stomach again. They want me to be "healthy" but feeding me carbs all day isn't exactly healthy is it? My parents control everything about my life and are the main reason my boyfriend broke up with me and they always insist that I do things their way. It makes me so angry that I can't even control what I eat. :/

ok well I am going to focus on your weight thing. I think that if you are the right height and weight for your height, and that sounds pretty normal to me...I know a lot of people your height and weight that are very healthy, (I read that for your height 114 is a good weight, but if you go to your doctor or maybe a trainer and they say you are all good, then I would say it's fine. I think what you are going to have to do is add some stomach exercises to your daily routine. What you can do is just eat the carbs at home and then don't eat as much when you are not at home, better yet...you can talk to your parents about introducing more healthy carbs like whole grain or brown rice pasta, wheat pasta and fruits, lots of green vegies and stuff like that. These are good carbs that you can eat and still keep a good balanced weight. Say hey, if you want me to eat carbs then why dont you let me eat this stuff instead of that stuff, or if you are going to make me eat fried chicken, why not let me eat grilled chicken, that way i can maintain a healthy size. Something else you can do too is work off the extra carbs that you had because of eating with them...for example...if you eat 300 calories more than you would like, do a 30 min cardio exercise or something like that to balance out your calories for the day. This will not only help you burn off the extra carbs but you will also be active and feeling great. I would do something that focuses on belly work like pilaties or belly dancing and maybe some aerobics.
