I am twenty-one, soon to be twenty-two, and currently work in a loan servicing department. I truly enjoy my job, as well as college, in which I am reaching my last year to receive my degree. What those people were referring to is that the doctor may seem that you're hymen has been broken or punctured, which is what people refer to as the "cherry" that's being popped, by the way. However, there are various ways to break your hymen, therefore, that is why the doctor will ask you if you sexually active and until you say, "Yes..." the doctor will not know.
By the way, if you are going to go to a "female" doctor, as I like to call it, if you are sexually active, it is probably a good idea to tell them. They cannot tell your parents and will not because of privacy and the doctor can treat you and make sure everything is in good shape. Just a suggestion, my friend.
