Hello! I am studying esthetics at an Aveda Institute after spending years in retail. I am proof that nothing turns out how you think it will, and that's a good thing. When you think you've got it figured out, you don't. Life would be boring otherwise, right?
Makeup, skincare, and psychology are my passions and I'm also happy to give advice on relationships, particularly for teenagers (so many things I wish I could have told myself a decade ago!) I'm happy to help fellow abuse survivors as well.

I LOVE THAT EYE MAKEUP

Lime Crime is a brilliant line of makeup by one of my favorite makeup artists, Doe Deere.

She has a blog at doedeereblogazine.com and she does makeup tutorials about once a week, sometimes by request. I'm willing to bet that if you left her a comment (she reads all her comments) she'd do a tutorial on that specific picture.

I'm no makeup artist, but I do love makeup so I'll try to give you some instructions.


Start with the eye makeup, in case you make a mess, that way you don't have to redo your face.

Apply concealer, foudnation, and powder on your lids. (Alternative: use an eyeshadow primer like Too Faced Eyeshadow Insurance). If you have thin eyebrows, fill them in, otherwise just apply eyebrow gel.

Apply a light shimmery highlight shade:

Below your brow and in the inner corner of your eye.

Using a wet brush, pack a reddish purple shadow on the outer half of your eyelid.

Pack a violet color on the inside half of your eye.

Blend well.

It looks like she is wearing false lashes, so if you're comfortable with using those go for it. Otherwise just lots of black mascara, and make sure you curl them first.

Apply a thin line of liquid liner (use a liquid line marker if you're not good at it) very close to your lashline. Using eyelash glue, apply stick on body crystal (try Claire's)- one in the corner of each eye.

Now for the face. Conceal, foundation, powder. (I love Lime Crime's powder:

Using a blue pencil, draw 3 stars on your cheek, fill them in. If you like, apply shadow over them. Set with powder.
Try MAC Eye Kohl in Minted.

Apply a pale pink gloss. You could also put some of the Crystal Ball shadow on your lips.
