advice

So throughout my entire life, I have gotten all A's and B's... until now.

I'm a freshman in college, and the change from high school hit me pretty hard. I'm still doing well enough, but I got a C+ and it nearly killed me. I've never gotten that type of grade before! The worst part is it was in Biology, which is my major!!!

I'm doing a little better this semester, but I really want to kick it into high gear and get my grades back up. I have A's and B's in my other classes, but a C+ in the class I'm majoring is unacceptable.

Since I go to a private college, I know it's only going to get worse as the years go on. I'm continuing taking Biology next year and I'm going to start taking Chemistry too.

I need lots of study tips, maybe some good study web sites for each subject (Bio and Chem), and any advice related. Thanks so much in advance!!!

Maybe you should try taking up a new major?

You can always switch if you want to - maybe biology just isn't the subject for you.

You could start something new by taking a class that you like a lot, or think that you'd really enjoy, and seeing if you could switch your major to a class that you do well in because you enjoy it.

UPDATED ANSWER:

If you're not happy with your major, then I'd switch if I were you.

If you don't enjoy that subject, or aren't getting very good grades in it, then could you really stand getting a job in biology in the future?

Hmm...

It just doesn't make any sense to me that you'd want to study a subject that you get bad grades in...

I wasn't trying to offend you in any way, I was merely trying to help.

(Rating: 2) I'd rather not give up so easily, you know? I'm only a freshman. I want to try another year. If it doesn't go well Sophomore year, then I will switch majors.

UPDATED FEEDBACK:
It's not that I'm not happy with my Major. I love everything about Biology. It's just that my private college is challenging. And I'm not going to give up because of one C+. I know that a C+ at my college is better than any A+ at a stupid Community College.

I can "stand" getting any job I want to. And I know I can if I try.

Thanks for your "encouragement." :]
