If a guy that you like just broke up with his girlfriend, how long should you wait before you approach him?

Well it depends.
Was it a long term relationship with his girlfriend?
Or was it like a 4 monther or less?
If it was a long term relationship, I would wait 2 weeks-and slowly start talking to him.
If he was in a short term relationship, I would wait a week and then start talking to him.
