Well, this might sound kinda weird, but this is something that helped me. I was reading a book about some people who lived in the "old days", and it described what they ate for each meal. For breakfast they had like one egg and maybe some bacon. For lunch they had a slice of bread and a piece of cheese. And for dinner, a cup of soup or maybe a small portion of meat. It really surprised me how little they ate, especially with the amount of physical exercise they got (working on a farm, walking miles every day, etc). And they were perfectly healthy.
That made me realize that people today THINK they need to eat a lot more than they really do. And just THINKING you need to eat makes you feel hungry. But if you think about it, there are billions of people around the world who survive (healthily) on very small portions of food.
So next time you feel "hungry", just think about what all you've already eaten that day, and the amount of nutrients you've gotten. Probably, just what you've had for breakfast or lunch is actually plenty for the entire day. I'm not saying to skip meals, but you really don't need those 2nd helpings or between-meal snacks. Just have a glass of water if you really feel you need something in your stomach.
