I work as a Customer Laison Complaints Case Officer at a major insurance company, where I have worked for 3 years. I left school when I was 17, as I had some very bad experiences at school and wanted to see what the real world had to offer.
I now live with my boyfriend of 3 years and spend my spare time reading, writing, socialising with friends or just watching some TV.
Times are still hard and I'm trying to cope with various health problems on a daily basis but I'm working my way through things and really want to stop it from getting me down.
I dream of some day going to America and watching a real baseball game (we don't have that at all in the UK) and perhaps finding a job I find creatively fulfilling. Until then, I'm happy trying to be me and making the best of what I have.

I have had severe anaemia myself (apparently I narrowly escaped a blood transfusion) but I had to admit, your symptoms aren't typical of anaemia, the main symptoms of which are extreme tiredness which does not disappear regardless of sleep, dizziness and headaches. When I was at my worst with it, it got to the point where I would stand up, walk a few metres and my legs would give way from under me, which was horribley inconvenient at work!!
The normal procedure with anaemia is to perform a blood test first of all to confirm it. They will normally take a tube or two but if you haven't had a recent set of tests, or if they feel your symptoms relate to something else, they may take more.
Following confirmation of low iron stores in your blood, they will put you on a course of iron suppletments, which you will need to take one of a day (in severe cases two a day) and at the same time, they will need to determine the cause of the deficiency. This will depend upon the other symptoms. In my case, the anaemia was related to a digestive illness called Coeliac Disease, which can cause malabsorbtion. However, anaemia can be caused by any number of different illnesses so this is always best left to the doctor.
There really isn't any need to worry. Although the loss of appetite and cravings are not typical of anaemia, should they diagnose you with this, treatment is really very simple and I can assure you that the blood test really doesn't hurt. If you are scared of needles, you can ask them to take the blood from the upper arm, rather than the crook of the arm, as this always hurts me less.
