Im 16, and i just got diagnosed with genital warts. Its a big shock to me. iv had a steady boyfriend now for 7 months, and we both have it. I dont knwo who got it first, but anyway; I wanted to know how long does it take for it to go away with, the medicine I bought? I got a perscription for Aldara, and i want to know how long it will take to make them go away? and if theres any way to make them stay away? (link)

Genital warts never go away. Although sometimes, it may be visible to others that you have genital warts, like during an outbreak.

A couple things you should know though- you might not be able to have children (that is if you are planning on it) vaginally. It is possible for a mother to pass the warts on to their child. I believe a C-section will be enough to ensure that your kid is genital wart free, but you would have to check with your doctor.
Also, if you and your boyfriend have had past partners, you should notify them about your genital warts. They could be passing it on to others, without knowing.
