Q: I'm 17/and female..and lately, I haven't had ANY crushes..in like 2 years! Is this normal??? Also, ever since 7th grade, I haven't felt anything when I masturbated..why is that?!!??!

It's totally normal to not have crushes, you're just thinking about other things. And masturbation is very boring, you should try to make it more interesting.

Q: ok..i'm definetly not sexually active but when i was little i didnt know better and im a girl but i kinda had sex with a girl.I'm straight but I was only about 7 when it happened.I'm 14 now so how would I know if i got HIV or something? Would I know by now?

I think you would know. Have you had your blood drawn recently? Or ever? It would come up on a blood test for sure. You're probably just over-reacting. I do that a lot. I think because when I was little I chewed on pencils that I have lead poisoning, or that I might have a tumor in my brain because I've fallen on my head a couple of times. But if you are really panicked about it, get a blood test done! HIV/AIDS is serious! And don't feel bad about you experience, it's normal for kids to be curious about each other's bodies.

Q: i don't know if i'm bi or not. i like guys but lately i've been attracted to girls too. i found out this girl was bi and now i'm really attracted to her and i like alot of other girls. but not just any girl, i only like really pretty girls. i don't want to be bi and i defnately can't tell anyone, that's not even an option so don't bring that up. so am i bi? tell me more about this.

The thing is, you can't really be sure. Most people go through different phases where they are attracted to people of the same sex, or the opposite sex. You're at an age where you're discovering who you are, who you're going to be as an adult. You may be gay, or you may be straight, but right now you are neither. You should experiment with different things (but keep it safe!). You are who you are, and physical attraction to someone isn't anything to worry about. You don't have to tell anyone about it since it is your business, but you should accept yourself for who you are. Humans have different levels. Nothing is black and white, or gay and straight as the case may be. The way I see it, we are all just people, and our physical sex doesn't matter at all. Neither does our orientation. You are only bisexual if that is how you choose to identify yourself, though some people would call you bi-curious and some people would call you...less than pleasant things. Liking other girls is nothing to be ashamed of no matter what people say. In fact, it's a sign that your body (and mind) are working normally. The fact that you have a sex drive is a good, healthy thing. Be who you are and be happy with yourself, and good luck. We've all been there!

Q: well i just got my period on friday (aobut 5 days ago) and i used these pads for a few days..but they are so long and fat in width! so then i went to the store and i got a thiner one width way but then its like really thick! and your can see it through my shorts that i have to wear for volleyball! are there any kinds or brands that i should know of that would work for my problem??? and i was wondering how long it normally takes a girl to learn to use a tampon..scince summer is coming up..i jus got a inground pool so all of my friends will be over here like 24/7! thxs so much!

Men can wear makeup, too, if they want. I don't know why they would...or why you would for that matter. It ruins your skin and the chemicals absorbed into your body may cause birth defects for your future children. You should accept your body the way it is, because you are much mor ebeautiful without the makeup. Or just go to a salon and ask their opinion.

Trust me...all girls think they are fat. But they're not. So just have confidence in yourself and have fun with life. Think about the people in the world who don't have even a small percent of the food you have eaten in your lifetime. They would give anything to have something to eat, but here you are throwing it away. Hopefull this will make you feel so guilty that you will eat. But an eating disorder is a psycological diease...if it gets any worse, talk to your doctor.

It's a tough choice, but you can't make everybody happy. I think I would leave her out of this one, but then do something special with her so that she knew that I still loved her. But whatever you do, there will probably be one person who doesn't like it. That's really their problem, and all you can do is let it go and try to be everyone's friend.

Q: My friend's favorite thing to do was always acting, and she always wanted to make it big time. She recently tried out for a broadway show, but didn't think she'd get a part. Your friend will just have to get over it...being nervous is just a part of life and everyone goes through it. Just tell her to do her best. Most famous people become depressed and develop drug problems. Also, paparazzi is a bad thing. Just because of the paparazzi, I personally would never want to become famous or date anyone famous, or even be friends with someone famous. Wouldn't that be awful, if Paris Hilton made an album? *shivers* I think I'd die.

Well when I put my cursor over my best friend's screen name, it says all of those things, but the last thing says "Comments: BFF"

When you right click on your buddy's name, near the bottom it says "Store/Edit Buddy Comment.", and then you can type in whatever you want it to say.

Leaving him alone is the best thing you can do. You don't want his new gf to become your worst enemy, do you? And you definitely do not want to look like a slut. You probably don't really like him, but just have a minor infatuation with him. That's normal. We all have minor crushes all the time, sometimes on many different people at the same time. But you shouldn't try to get back with him, especially when he has a girlfriend. I don't know how long you were going out, but if it was a few weeks or just a few months, you definitely should not waste your time with this guy. He is the typed that moves from girl to girl and only loves himself. So...move on, find a better guy. You may find that you prefer no guy at all, which is totally fine to. Life is about more than going out.

Q: 15/f- I want to go on the birth control pills called Seasonale because they give you a longer cycle so that you have fewer periods a year, who wouldn't want that, right? well...my mom won't let me get them because she says i'm too young...and then she started giving me excuses such as "the doctor doesn't perscribe birth control unless you're sexually active" well...if i were sexually active, wouldn't i have wanted the pills BEFOREHAND anyway??? and i was under the impression that sometimes birth control is percribed to those with irregular periods to help regulate them. so, was my mom correct? and if she wasn't, how can i convince her to let me get seasonale? thanks!

BC pills cause heart disease and liver problems, so you shouldn't get them. But it's your choice, not your mom's. Legally she has no say in it, just tell your doctor you want a prescription.

Q: i have no problem with working out, its just that i cant eat right, which trows everything out the door. during soccer i lost about 10 pounds just from running a lot and not changing my diet, but i didnt like to eat that much so i didnt. in my family i probably eat the most healthiest besides my dad. and diebetes(sp) runs in my family and i might get it... i just have problems with dedicatiing myself to eat healthy.

Q: I just got my period again today (not the first time) But I have a wicked bad cramp. Like I came home from school because it was way too unbearable. Any ways on how to make it less painful other than take advil or w/e cuz i already did.

Ibuprofen is good, and sometimes when it's really bad I boil some water, pour it onto a face cloth, and put the face cloth on my belly. Weird, but it helps. Mostly all you can do is lay down and deal with the pain, but if it's really unbearable every time you get it, you should consider birth control pills.

Q: My boyfriend's mom is so controlling! She tells him what to do all the time, and the worst part is, he does it! For example, she told him to wear something even though it didn't match at all, yet he ended up wearing it cause she told him to! It drives me completely crazy! Dump him. If he's dependent on her, he'll be dependent on you. It's sad, but you really can't deal with a guy like that and you don't deserve that. My cousin is going to end up the same as your boyfriend...it's really a pity...but you're better off without him. Find someone who can take care of himself.
