My mom and I never get along or even talk. She's just not someone I can go up to and tell things to. Well im 17 and this summer im pretty sure im going to lose my virginity when im on vacation to visit my friends. Im ready, i love him and hes the right guy, i know more than most people know, im aware of the consequences and precautions i need to take. I just dont trust condoms alone, so id like to get on the pill before becoming sexually active. I would like to tell my mom so we can set up an appointment with the gyno, but im scared that i could ever have the courage to ask her or even talk to her about sex. She's told me tons of times "If you ever have sex, use protection. And tell me." My parents trust me already, but a part of me feels like..if i told them im going to start having sex..that they may take my freedom away from me and wont let me go on vacation. I was thinking about just going to Planned Parenthood behind their backs and getting it, but because of several reasons, theres no way i can actually get away with it and do it. (Long story, but its seriously impossible at this moment.) I was also thinking about just asking to go to the gyno because of period problems. (Ive actually had problems for the past year or two that my mom knows about) But she still refuses to give me medical attention no matter what the situation is. My parents know im cautious and responsible, unlike my sister. (She lost her virginity at 13 and they could care less.) So my question is - if you were in my position and never really talked to your mom..would you talk to her about becoming sexually active and getting on the pill? I guess the only thing holding me back is not knowing how she will react. Or should i just be careful and use a condom only...and when i come back from vacation..tell her im sexually active and need to be on the pill?
hey i'm not the best at this but this is what i would do. like you said you mom told you that if you ever have sex use protection...well there you go be like mom remember when we talked about this well i remembered that you said if i ever have sex i should use protection...well mom i'm coming to you for help to maybe think about getting on the pill because i dont trust condoms alone. and at 17 a lot of things can happened and let her know. going to her about it is responsible then coming back and then letting her know. i hope i helped. take care. x3 SweetStar.
I have naturally straight hair, but I like to wear it curly. I just bought my first curling iron, and I think the heat is drying my hair out. Did I buy the wrong product? Or am I just using it incorrectly?

hey you just need to treat you hair every now and then because like me i dye and straighten my hair so of course it's going to dry out. try to use thermasilk with is heat active design for curling irons and such. and deep condition your hair to renew it to keep it soft and silky. try Neutrogena's Triple Moisture deep recovery $4 at walmart. hope i helped! take care. x3 SweetStar.
Ok well i'm 16 and cute (lol if i do say so myself :D ) ok well I have pretty thick hair. Its not like obesely thick or whatever but it's thick... and its not like extremely frizzy or crimpy or anything... but it gets a bit frizzy after blow drying it and its naturally wavvy. Do you have any advice for me? I hate that it's as thick as it is. I dont even shower every day BECAUSE that means i would have to do my hair all over again and it takes forever to straighten. When I blowdry it straight it not only takes forever, but it poofs out and i have to sleep on it like 3 nights in order for it to look good. some days I even had to go to school with it greasy just because it sucks when i wash it. ugh its so annoying! any ideas besides chemically straightening it and getting it thinned out (already done the thinning and chemically straighening it isnt an option for me)
hey! i have pretty think hair too and for me to keep it under control i got my hair layered allover...it thins it out a little bit. and the way i take care of my hair i flat iron it almost everyday to keep it looking nice to keep it even more straighter then my already is. i think if that to have it not frizzy use deep conditioners like mask for your hair that you leave on for about 5 minutes and then wash out kinda thing. try Neutrogena's Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Mask $5-6 at walmart(i dont really remember how much.) it will make your hair silky soft and it will keep the frizz under control when you blow dry and then straighten and for flat ironing try Thermasilk's straighten and smooth cream that you apply before ironing $4 at walmart. i believe thats what it's called but i'm not quite sure i use it tho i know it's straight something. hope i helped take care! x3 SweetStar.
ok im planning a sweet 16 at a hotel..i was wondering how i can control the people who come in? i dont want people who arent invited or random teenagers who are hotel guests popping in. Any suggestions? 5's for anyone who isnt obnoxious
Hi. try to let only the people you want to invite know about the hotel party and ask them not to tell anyone that you didnt invite about it is the best way. you can even try to ask the people at the front desk of the hotel to maybe give you a room on a floor where there isn't that many people or is away from most of where teens might hang out? something like that should work. i hope i helped. hi. it is possible and like what the others say you could email the photos to your computer or some phones you can get a cord thing for it (i'm not sure what they are called) and you plug it into your computer and phone and it should let you transfer photos into you computer and vise vera. you would have to look online for some details about it. you have nice phone and flash camera thats awesome mines kind of like yours a samsung e315 lol yeah i hope i helped. take care. x3SweetStar.
I have this job, it's pretty stupid, but I hold a sign that says "Hot-N-Ready $5" for a pizza place. Anyways, I'm starting to think that the people I work with don't really respect me enough.
For example, on Good Friday, I get a phonecall from them asking me if I can work from 4-6. I say okay, and I change my easter dinner plans with my family. Well, fifteen minutes before my shift starts, I got a phonecall from them telling me I don't need to come in. The fact that they don't respect me enough to let me know earlier or to just let me come in and work the two stupid hours like I planned really pissed me off.
I had been looking for reasons to quit, because after working there for two months, I was still always working outside, and I had expected to be working inside with more hours. So, the other day, I went in, and asked if my manager would be coming in today, and the other lady was like "No, why?" and I just said "well, I need to talk to her." The other woman kept on insisting that I tell her what I need to talk to her about, so I did, and I told her I was really pissed off, and so was my family. So, she went ahead and told me all this crap about how they love me there and think I'm a "great team member". So, I didn't end up quitting, and I'm waiting until my manager comes back. They kind of go through workers pretty quickly, but I've had it.
Do you think I should quit or what? Should I just forget about it and move on and hope things get better?
hi. well if you think that this job doesn't make you happy then i would quit and find a new job. i know jobs are not suppose to be fun but some can be fun and something you should like. so if you know you dont like it and is not having any fun or nothing then maybe you should just leave it. but then again sometimes it's hard to find another job so what i would do is hang on to it until i can find another job if you do decide to quit. definitly talk to your manager about the issues you dont like and see what he/she says. hope i helped let me know how it goes if you can. take care. x3SweetStar.
so im planning a sweet 16 and i made a guest list and came up with 66 people so far. This was without crossing off the "questionables." what i mean by that is those people who you dont really talk to..but you dont hate either..and the couple of people who had a sweet 1 in september but didnt invite you..and now it seems we are a little more friendly. Hope i didnt confuse you guys..any tips on what to base who you invite on? anyone ever been in my place before? how did you decide who to cross off? i dont usually talk to the "gangsta" group..but i figure inviting them would spice my party up..is this the wrong idea? i need help lol so dont be afraid to critisize

Happy 16th Birthday! for me i would think about who is worth coming and who isnt. if you know the gangstas well enough then invite them. i'm not sure how many people you are allow to invite but think about it. you want to have fun and not have anyone say things like maybe the ones that had sweet 16 but didnt invite you would be like yeah mine was so much better at your party. i'm not sure if they have that kind of people if i was planning it i think of it that way. but you dont have to do the you didnt invite me so i'm not going to invite you thing. but if some people are nice to you and you like them then keep them on. hopefully i helped! take care. x3SweetStar.
i am finding that my hair is taking longer and longer to do, with less of a result and usually dosent stay clean for more than a day... i have tried switching shampoos (i seem to do it weekly now) and cutting my hair, i let it grow, i died it, i put stuff in it! nothing seems to work!
Hey. Maybe you did too much with it? when you wash your hair try to shampoo it twice instead of just once and see what happens and since you dyed it and out stuff in it you could have damaged it...so use the Pantene renewal conditioner to soften it up and then i dont think there should be anymore problems. it helps me. hope i helped! take care. x3SweetStar.

hey it should be normal for a girl not to have her period because like me i only got it once and that was back in october and i'm 15 now...if you are really active with sports then you usually get it late like me i skate so i'm always moving but i stopped and then i did marching band and winterguard and once again i'm active so thats probably it. Well sometimes it's possible for a person to not have their period at all but then at means you can't be pregnant and there could be something wrong...i'm not saying there is with you but if you dont get it by 18 i believe you should see a doctor. First off Im male and 15. I've kinda got a problem... There is this girl that is pretty much one of my best friends I guess you'd say. But we hang out alot or atleast when we can. And for the last few(2) months I started liking her as more than a friend. But the problem is that I don't know if she likes me as more than a BFF. I mean some days she really seems to like me as more than a friend in my opinion and some days it just seems like were just like best friends. I really don't know what to do cause i dont want to hurt our friendship if she doesnt feel that way... Because I love hangn with this girl shes so awsome!

i know this is a crazy question...should you curl your eye lashes before or after putting on mascara?
hi. depends on what kind of curler you are using...if you are using a normal eyelash curler that you have the clamp up kinda of then i would say before would sound less messy or if you use an electric eyelash curler like the one i have then you definitly want to use it before. but hun you dont really need an eyelash curler because most mascaras come with the curling brushes that curl your lashes when you put mascara on. hope i helped! take care. x3 SweetStar.
My family is extremely well off money wise. And so are the kids that go to my high school but my family kind of has more money then most of the people in our neighborhood.
Well, I've been talking to a few girls at school about our prom dresses and theirs are around 200-500 dollars. Well, I found the perfect dress but it's 1,500 dollars. I'm supposed to go buy it this weekend but there's a problem. It's not that we can't afford the dress, because we can and my parents think that it's a good amount to pay for it. It's that I don't want to be the only girl there that paid over a thousand dollars for a Prom dress. I don't want people to talk about it or anything.
Should I get the dress even though it's 3 or 4 times more than what everyone else is going to pay for theirs?

Hey. no it doesn't hurt you hair but then it depends what kind of hair you have for the perm to work. you should talk to a professional about that. and usually they treat it very well so it will be baby soft. and the treatment depends where you go can cost between $100-$500 it's pretty expensive. do you can always do what i do i use heatactivate products for my hair because i straighten mine everytime i wash my hair i do touch ups too...if you want let me kno if you want the names of some products. hope i helped! take Care! x3 SweetStar.

i guessed my mom's password for her email and it was right.. i know i shouldnt have, but i looked at all her emails with my aunt. i've been having a hard time lately w/ cutting and things and i didnt want my mom to tell anyone (she found out, bc my school found out and yadda yadda..im seeing a theripist..not important)but in these emails she told my aunt all about it. i am kinda mad but i cant say anything bc I wend snooping. im feeling really guilty and dont know what to do..any sugestions =/
