advice

are they supposed to leak at the nipple area?

As others said, unless you're pregnant or breastfeeding, it is not normal. It could be a sign of an easily treatable infection or something a bit more serious. I would make an appointment with the doctor.

Can't control herself on a car ride. She jumps all around and i'm scared she'll hurt herself by possibly jumping out of the window. She's tried to before, but i'm always holding her with the leash. I see alot of dogs without the leash perfectly still on car rides and i really want my dog to be like that. She's a shepperd mix, 5 months old. Is there a good training method for keeping your puppy obedient in the car? :/

Actually, you can take her to a vet and they can prescribe you some tranquilizers after a quick exam. If that's not an option, take her out for a long walk right before the car ride, and keep those windows closed. You can also try to keep her occupied by giving her an edible chew toys (something that takes a long time to eat). I recommend Greenies.

If you have to take her into the car often, I would consider consulting a behaviorist. She could be frightened of riding in cars, so I think only a behaviorist or a dog whisperer could help you out if its something psychological.

I have an Australian Shepherd. Female/almost 3 years old/no history of illnesses.

I got home today and found yellowish dried vomit in three separate sections on the house. An hour later she threw up two more times. She's moping around. Her nose is cold and wet, which is good, but the inside of her ears are cold.

Please don't answer this with "Ask a vet" or "look up advice online." That doesn't help. If you have a link to a website with advice though, that will help.

Please help!

First of all, when an at mal's (dog or cat's) nose is cold, hot, wet, dry, doesn't mean the sick in any way (in fact, this is normal). Same goes with the ears. (If you want to check a dog's temperature, a rectal thermometer does the trick. A normal temp is 100-101 degrees Fahrenheit.)

The vomiting isn't so normal. Is she drinking water? If you see that she isn't, take her to a vet, because if she's dehydrated she will need to be put on fluids. I would take away her food for a day or so to give her stomach a rest. But if she is vomiting continuously for the next 24 hours, I would take her to a vet ASAP.

If money is the issue here, an exam isn't really that expensive. Where I work we charge forty dollars for an exam, not including what the doctor may decide to prescribe.

i am 14 (i turn 15 next month) and i just got my period this year. i always used pads but recently i have been using tampax pearl regular tampons. i have three questions:

1. is it normal to feel discomfort while inserting a tampon? i.e. a tiny bit of dull pain.

2. is it normal to feel discomfort while removing a tampon?

3. would it hurt if i used super plus tampons since i just started (and have only used) regular sized tampons?

any help would be greatly appreciated! thank you so much!

1. Yes, its normal to feel discomfort when inserting a tampon. It is usually because the inside is dry and there isn't enough lubrication for it to slide easily in. Try putting some KY jelly on the tip, or any other water soluble lubricant. DON'T use things like baby oil or Vaseline. They can cause infections. If you absolutely have to, spit on it.

2. Yes, its normal to feel discomfort while removing a tampon. Again, it is usually because it is dry and its chaffing the vaginal wall as you're taking it out. So if you have a light period, make sure your using tampons designed for a light period, so it will be easier to take out. Again, if you absolutely have to, pee first, then take the tampon out because it becomes wet. But if you are going to pee while you're wearing a tampon, ALWAYS change it because an infection might occur.

3. If you are having a super heavy period, then it shouldn't hurt to use super plus tampons. However, if you are having a light to medium period I wouldn't recommend it.

Remember to change your tampon at least every four hours. Never leave it in for more than eight. TSS is deadly!

Okay so i have natural blonde hair, but since mines natural it's faded, and almost brown now. Some would say it's a dirty blonde, well anyways, it about an inch or two past my shoulders, it's long but long long, if you catch my drift.

Well my question is I Have no clue how to fix it.
It's frizzy. Here's what I do day to day
.shower (vive shampoo)
. brush hair and put herbal essence frizz control moose on it. and tresame' heat spray.
.Dry it (takes around 22 minutes)
. straighten.
. spray with herbal essenses hair sray ( blue "set me up" bottle)
Yet after I get done it's still frizzy by the time i leave my house.

I want my hair to look like ashley tisdales when she straightens it:
http://search.msn.com/images/results.aspx?q=ashley+tisdale&form=QBID
(sixth picture blue background)
Or like these people:
http://search.msn.com/images/results.aspx?q=straight+hair&form=QBIR

Tell me a step to step way that will make my hair, non frizzy/ straight and beutifull.

THANKS

My hair is just like yours. No matter how much product I pour into my hair it will be frizzy. I recently got a new hair straightener called Wet2Straight and it works really well. My hair stays straight for days on end (yes, I skip a few showers sometimes =/ , and it never gets frizzy after I straighten it.

Also, using products that moisturize your hair helps a lot. I found all those anti-frizz products generally don't work, and if they do, they don't work well.

That includes all my hair care.

hey i am 19/m i am white and i am about to get corn rows. i was just wandering what type of stuff i need to get to put in my hair. i really dont' want my hair to fall out or any thing you know. and what style do you think i should have them done in. b/c they need to look good. You know can't be going out looken like a clown.thanks

I think on a white person they will look really bad. A white person's hair texture is not for corn rows and they will look either really weird or really feminine. And I'm sure there will be a lot of talk about you trying to be black.

I'm just warning you and advise you not to get them.

i just read the kite runner, and i've never cried so much for a book or a movie. i want to watch the movie for it cause i hear it's good, but it got 67% on rottentomatoes.com. would you recommend it?

i hate reading books then watching the movies because, for example, when i read to kill a mockingbird, the director of the movie, imo, did a HORRIBLE job. things happened in the movie that were not explained at ALL! (e.g., when boo's brother cemented the hole in the tree). so i'd appreciate it if you could be honest! i'll rate you based on honesty & reasoningg

Well, I read the book first, which I thought was absolutely amazing. The movie however, was horrible. I didn't even finish watching it. I thought the actors were bad, and I imagined the characters to look completely different. Some of them looked the complete opposite of what the book described. The movie wasn't very deep, but that could be because they left a lot of parts out (which of course is unavoidable, but if you're going to leave parts out, do it well so it doesn't seem clunky).

I wouldn't recommend it. If you're curious though, go ahead, but don't get your hopes up.

Me and this guy who have been hooking up for a while had dry sex last night. I was in my underwear (lace thong), and he was in some briefs. He mighttt not have bee wearing it he might have taken it off by then (I later gave him a handjob, but nothing farther).
MYY underwear never came off, but I have this huge fear of getting an STD, so is there any possibility I could've gotten one if he had one? I don't think he has one, but what if he did? That would suckk...
Also you cant get an STD through a hj right?
PS theres NO chance of me getting pregnant. I'm also on the pill.

If there was an exchange of bodily fluids (i.e. his pre-ejaculate or semen absorb into your underwear and travel up to your vagina), then you are definately at risk. Even if you don't show symptoms, that does not mean a thing. I would schedule an appointment with a lady doctor to get tested for any STD's so you can start treatment asap if it turns out you're positive for a disease.

What do girls like to get as a gift?
(only girls answer!!!!!)

Well, I personally would love to get flowers. A peony bouquet to be exact. (I think they are beautiful and will make the whole room smell amazing).

I also like to get necklaces (honestly I don't care how cheap they are, I would still like it). I'm not really like this, but I know most girls would LOVE to get a necklace with a heart shaped locket with the picture of you two inside.

Perfume.

Dinner, where we dress up just for fun.

Passes to an amusement park, concert, etc.

what do you think a "pretty" girl
looks like?

My definition of a pretty girl:

Confident
Very nice
Smart
Has goals and priorities
Humorous
Long wavy honey brown hair
Big green eyes
Small turned up nose
Pouty pale lips
Medium height
Toned
Clear, glowing skin
Happy and healthy looking
Freckles
Respects everyone and everything

I think that the important thing to know is that this is only my opinion, and I am one person out of a billion other people, one opinion out of a billion. I highly doubt that a girl like I described exists. And honestly, a girl ain't pretty unless she is beautiful on the inside. Because its beautiful souls that make the world a beautiful place.

what the heck is incest or insest? I'm cousin dating cousin. Is it really so bad? what if your a christian and lets say 4th cousins? What would happen?

Incest: sexual activity between people who are related.

I personally believe its wrong and unethical. Even if you're fourth cousins, you're still blood, and if you decide to have kids one day, they may turn out to have nasty birth defects.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure having sexual relations with a fourth cousin would be illegal, and definitely considered incest.

I would really try to avoid going into a relationship with your cousin. If you two fall in love or have a child.. well, all I can say it won't be good. =/

Its summer vacation and I believe its too late to start a summer school I'm not sure. I'm 17 I'm supposed to be a senior next year. I only completed one full quarter of my junior year. Although I missed alot of school due to personal reasons I wasn't behind. The only thing I need to complete for this year is my requiered English and History. I got half credits for both. I want to be able to be a senior next year. Any advice on what I can do?

Enroll in summer courses at your local junior college. Just one semester in college equals a year of that subject in high school. However, you will need to take a placement test in English so they can place you in a certain class (there are certain levels of English, and a certain level of college English may count as a certain English level in high school, so you must make sure that you place in the right one). For history you won't need a placement test.

However, you will need something called a concurrent enrollment form signed by your high school that allows you to take college courses while you are enrolled in high school. I would make an appointment with a college counselor so they can help you with this process. I would make an appointment now because the summer semester is starting very soon (at least in the college I go to).

Im 19 years old and still a virgin and kinda want to stay like that but then again dont want to cause i want to enjoy my life What you think i sholud do ?`

Well, for me personally, I'm just waiting for the right time and the right person. I'm not really waiting for marriage, but when I feel that I really love somebody and I'm really ready to have sex, I will.

I think you shouldn't think about when to lose your virginity until you are in a serious relationship with someone. I personally think that if you think about it too much you'll pressure yourself into doing it, or not doing it and then missing out on a completely different intimacy level with your partner. Trust your instincts. AND when you feel that the relationship is becoming more sexual, get yourself protected, make sure you or your partner are on the birth control pill, that you have a condom handy just in case. Get tested for STD's (you and your partner, whether both of you are virgins or not).

how do you hold hands with a girl you are sitting next to in the movies that you love but you dont know if they love you back...im not going out with the girl but i really like her but i dont know if she likes me us and a couple of friends are going to the movies on the weekend and im not sure wether to make a move or not....btw(by the way) i am 13 years old so is she but we are in separate classes we both have msn

Ok, this is silly, but it works =)

Exclaim what small hands she has compared to yours (or tell her what pretty nail polish she has on, jewelry, etc), then grab her hand, and compare it to yours (like palm to palm). Then simply grasp her hand (in the holding hands clasp... whatever you want to call it), and don't let go unless she moves her hand back.

OR you could "accidentally" brush your hand against hers, and exclaim how cold/warm her hands are. Then simply offer her to feel your hands to check if they are warmer/colder than hers. Or if her hands are cold just grab them in both your hands to warm them.

my mom and i used to be real close and tight but lately its different. she doesnt have as much time for me and when im around her she is always sayin she has a headache or is mad about sumthin
i cant stand her lately. i dont know what to do helpppp! thanks

I'm going through the same thing with my mom right now. She has been working a lot lately and is crabby about everything. I just found that giving her her space and letting her come to you usually helps. Also, try to catch her in a good mood.

Helping her around the house helps improve her mood (and her stress levels). When I notice my mom especially tired or moody, I'll do the vacuuming for her, and also things like unloading the dishwasher, cooking, laundry, etc.

If you see that she is in a good mood, let her know that you miss spending time with her. I'm sure you two can dedicate a certain day or time just for mother-daughter time.

Does proactive really work? I know its different for certiain people but im just wondering if it worked for you. I dont have wicked bad acne but i have my breakouts. If it doesnt work for you what do you use that does work?

Well, a friend of mine used to have pretty bad skin but her skin has cleared up after using Proactive. She still has some scarring from her acne, but the product has cleared up most of it. She told me that in order for it to work you need to use it everyday, so its not something that you use every few days. I never used it, but I think you need to use it religiously in order for it to work.

My husband is 29, his sister is my age 21. They have, in my opinion, the most inappropriate relationship ever. She'll come and just sit in his lap and cuddle up with him. Or if shes sitting on the couch he will sorta attack her in a huge bear hug and end up on top of her. Once he was eating dessert and she came and sat on his lap and he started to feed her from his dessert. He didn't even think to offer me until after she had already eaten from his spoon. I don't know what all of you think, but I find this utterly disgusting...its weird, gross, and just plain wrong!

I talked to him about it, and he felt that I was being ridiculous and said that I have intimacy issues because in my family we are not all over each other. yaa we give hugs and stuff..but wrestling with each other on the couch and sitting on laps, and feeding each other...thats just weird. He was like, she is my sister! I told him, "EXACTLY! she's your sister...thats why I have such a problem with this". I even told him that I dont want her sitting on his lap any more..shes not a small child and its not cute when she comes and sits on his lap. He had the nerve to tell me he'll think about it...not okay I understand this is bothering you and I'll stop... he's just going to think about it. How wonderful..

I know no one can really do anything about this, but I guess I just need to see what others think about this. Is it just me or is it weird for siblings to treat each other the same way they would treat their significant others; minus the kissing on the lips and sex?

All answers are welcome and much appreciated. :)

Well, I believe there's an explanation for everything. When she was 4, he was 12. I bet he had to take care of her a lot, that may have included feeding her, playing with her (wrestling), bouncing her on his lap (ALL toddlers love this), etc. I guess he has trouble letting go that she's all grown up and that behavior isn't appropriate anymore. He's been doing this all his life (I'm just assuming), so in a way he's almost a father-ish brother figure.

I doubt that their relationship is sexual, I just think he has problems letting go of her and realizing she's all grown up. But definitely tell him how its bothering you and to at least stop doing it in front of you.

Please tell me everything you can to help me out. I've read a lot about them but learning from books and from other owners is totally different. Like how often should I feed him and how much etc. THANK YOU!!

Well, it really depends on the age of the cat, its size, breed, etc. I suggest adopting (not buying, there are many homeless kitties out there) a kitten, or a sweet adult cat. When picking out the cat, ask for its history: the medical history, past ownership history (why they're putting up the cat for adoption), its age, breed, personality, etc. Make sure the cat is healthy: watch out for goopy eyes, noses and ears, any scabs, dullness of the coat, things like that. Ask whoever you are adopting from what they are feeding the cat, how much, how often. Buy a small supply of whatever that is, then schedule an appointment with a veterinarian so it can be examined to check for any problems. The vet should also suggest a proper diet for your new kitty, because whatever it was fed before may not be as good for it. The vet or any of the techs should answer any other questions you may have.

i walk a lot more than usual nowadays, and every time i come back and take my socks off, the side of my big toe is reallly itchy, and it feels like pimples are developing on them, except after i scratch them for a while they turn white. what is this? and how can i prevent them from forming?

thank u :$

I get these too, and although I have no idea what they are, washing your feet with soap and warm water helps prevent them. Also walk around barefoot as much as you can.
