what the heck is incest or insest? I'm cousin dating cousin. Is it really so bad? what if your a christian and lets say 4th cousins? What would happen?

The taboo on incest is caused by evolution. Offspring of two organisms with very similar genes(such as siblings and cousins) are less healthy than offspring of non-related people. The desirability of having children with family is therefore selected out. In other words, genetic lines that didn't have a problem with incest died out.
A child of siblings is much more likely to have some sort of defect. A child of 1st cousins is only slightly more likely to have some sort of defect. Beyond that, the difference is insignificant.
I don't know anything about the legal or religions implications of this issue, but from a scientific viewpoint, there is no problem with having a romantic relationship with anyone other than a sibling.

Ok so you 4th cousins, that means what exactly? Your parent's cousins have a kid, who have a kid who you are dating? If your Family doesn't have a problem with it, then it should be no big deal. Back in the day, Like Victorian era and such, people used to only mate with relatives to keep the blood line pure. It is taboo these days, but if no one has any objections, then who the hell cares. As long as you are both consenting adults (differs from state to state), then don't tell anyone out side the family; unless of course you want to start a controversy. The way I see it we are all related by some way or another, maybe even by six degrees of separation. Christians have funny rules about a lot of stuff, so you would have to check with your local reverend. Incest is a family member seeping with a family member, but that does not legally apply to you, unless it is your daughter, niece, nephew, sibling and the like. Though it technically counts as incest, you cant get in legal trouble, unless he or she is under the consenting age.

Incest: sexual activity between people who are related.
I personally believe its wrong and unethical. Even if you're fourth cousins, you're still blood, and if you decide to have kids one day, they may turn out to have nasty birth defects.
I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure having sexual relations with a fourth cousin would be illegal, and definitely considered incest.
I would really try to avoid going into a relationship with your cousin. If you two fall in love or have a child.. well, all I can say it won't be good. =/

Incest is a relationship with relatives, such as a sibling or parent. As far as how far apart in blood relations you can be before it becomes incest is beyond me.
Besides, its your life. So don't let judgements and people tell you to do otherwise...
