And lately, i've discovered that one of the best answers for relationship problems is communication. talk. explain. share. it does wonders.
advice
I'm the person who asked what to do about a test if you don't know anything that's on it. Well I still can't/don't understand it. It's just too confusing to me. I still study it, but I thought about something. I might bring a cheat sheet and hide it and take the test, and if I am totally lost then I'll look at it, if not then I'll just answer the questions.
Is this bad? Well I know that it's bad, obviously, but if you just can't get all the studying done and don't understand everything what else can you do?? I tried everything everyone else told me to do and it isn't working.
have you tried one-on-one tutoring or studying with friends who understand the material? When i have a test in math, i would take the notes and problems my teacher gave us and go over them again and again; as in doing them over and over again until i understood it. Most tests you just need to memorize... ones where you need to understand, you should ask your teacher for help. I'm sure they'll be glad to help you do better in class.
Like people said, Cheating is NOT worth it. It may seem like the easy way out, but you're just hurting your own chances in college and such if you continously cheat and not understand what you're learning right now.
Okay, so everyone works now in days and i want to work so bad. im 16 years old and i dont want to be asking my parents for money no more. so i ask them if i can get a job but they keep on saying NO because im still young and still am in school. they dont want me to be behind on credits but i really want to work. what can i do so that they can change their minds about me working and getting my own money?
well first off, so many high schoolers have jobs. If you can assure your parents that if you work, your grades and stuff wont go down, maybe they'll think more about it. But you should point out the benefits of having a job. For example, you can buy things using the money YOU've earned, not your parents money [so they cant complain]. You can learn how to manage your money wisely and it will help when you go to college and beyeond. Just point out the good things about getting a job and make sure they know that your grades wont drop when you get a job :)
ok so my parents seem to be having a lot of problems lately. like i was reading one of my moms emails and she was talking about how she's in a marriage crisis and she feels like she's not being a good wife and stuff...my dad tries to kiss her and hug her and stuff my mom acts all defenseful! it makes me so mad cause my dad brings her flowers and everything randomly and she doesn't even act like she cares!! im freaking out cause i'm afraid they're going to get a divorece and i dont know if i can handle that.. can anyone please help me deal with this cause i can't think of anything else but this!!
You should sit down with your parents and have a talk; tell them that you're worried. Talk as a family and figure out what your problem is before trying to solve it. As parents, they have the responsiblity of taking care of their child and handling problems in the family. If all comes to worse, you should advise them to see a marriage counselor.
So in gym class we started our swimming unit. I'm not a very strong swimmer, but in our first 2 days the things we covered were VERY easy. Now we learned the elementary backstroke, and I'm just STUCK. can someone explain how you do it? my teacher lacks the ability to explain things clearly, then takes it out on us when we get things wrong.
for instance, when kicking (point-flex-around), do i keep my legs straight when i flex my foot or do i bend them to my chest? thx!
it's like how a frog swims, if you've ever seen a frog swim xP it's basically like breast stroke, only you're on your back.
Also, if what i just said made no sense at all, here are some [hopefully] more helpful websites:

What does the saying "Eat your heart out" mean?
i THOUGHT it meant 'eat as much as you want' but i checked and a website said,
"Intended to make one feel bitterness or pain as they long for something out of reach."
I don't know which one is right. You can trust the internet i guess.
In the movie Napolean Dynamite, he goes " do the chikens have large talons? " what are talons?
Talons would be chicken feet pretty much :)
How can you tell if a girl has a potential interest in you and does resting her head on your shoulder signify anything? Also, what if she lays with you on the grass with her head resting on your stomach without a care in the world of what a group of friends think?
Rick- Age: 18 / Gender: Male
Sounds like she has interest in you if she rests on you. Does she also talk to you a lot more than she does with other people? Are there other signs that she might be interested? If so, then she's probably interested :)
I don't know whats wrong with me, i get mad so quickly but only when im with family or the people im more comfortable with, it seems like my mom and dad are never happy with anything that i accomplish, i just want my dad to pay more attention to me, but he's always siding with his girlfriend on everything and it makes me feel like shes more important, i get mad sometimes and slam my hands down on somethin and have even broke a few things (not of great value) i just wanna know what i can do besides count to 10 cause i just get even more mad by the end of that.
Don't even count to ten; take a deep breath, dont' say anything and see if you can just go to your room [if it's ok at the situation or not] You could try holding in your anger until you're by yourself maybe in your room or something?
Try punching a pillow or something [be careful of the fluffy stuff thoguh] or ask your parents if they're willing to invest in a punching bag for you. Don't punch walls! My friend did it and it left a hole.. he didn't even mean to hit that hard.
Talk to your dad and explain to him that you just want him to pay attention to you. If you've already tried talking to him, and that doesn't work, try asking him to just hang out with you or something, just so you guys can get closer and he will actually listen to you.
I really hope i helped, if not, just send me a message or something ^^;
what was the dred-scott decision?

http://americancivilwar.com/colored/dred_scott.html
Two different links to help :) Basically the decision is 'slaves are personal property, and the government has no right to prohibit slavery in the new territory. Also, slaves weren't citizens therefore had no right to bring suit in the federal courts on any matter.
There is a guy who i've just recently became really good friends with this year. Last year he was in one of my classes and we barely talked, but this year we ended up being in four classes together and became really good friends. Plus I found out he lived three houses away from me and we hung out once in a while.
He has a crush on one of my friends, a cheerleader who told me she wasn't interested in him at all and thought he was annoying. He told me she was sending mixed signals, flirting with him then ignoring him. She wanted to hook him up with someone else so he would leave her alone. But she was too nice to tell him that, so she wanted me to hook up with him or at least find someone else to. I was like, wtf? I thought that she was being a little rude when she said that, especially trying to push my friend on me just because she didn't want him liking her.
The next day, he was asking me whether or not he had a chance with her and i debated between telling the truth or saying I had no idea, because on one hand, if i told the truth, he might move on and she wouldnt complain so much , but then I might hurt his feelings. But I finally told him to "get over it" because she thought his actions were annoying and she wanted to hook him up with someone else.
Is what I did right? He seemed a little upset when he heard that she wanted him to go out with someone else, but got over it quickly. I'm afraid I might have hurt his feelings though he didn't say it. Was what i did right? Or was I just meddling in someone else's business? Because if I didn't do anything about it, she would have been too nice to tell him to his face that she didnt like him and keep leading him on.
You may have hurt his feelings, but at least he realizes that the girl he thinks he's 'in love with' doesn't feel the same way. You are sort of meddling in their business, though I would have done the same thing if it were my friend. So you did what you thought was right and it's too late to change it anyway.
My mom just kicked me outa the house ... what am i suposed to do to get back?? or just do period??
How did you get on a computer? Anyway, that's irrevelant. Why did she kick you out? Did you guys have a fight or something...? Try talking to her and if she wont let you in, trying going to a friend's house or something until your mom calms down enough and lets you back in? Or you can do the desperate thing and try to break in... I wouldn't advise that though.
okay so theres this kid who really likes me and has asked me out so many times and each time i have politely said no, but lately he wont quit and keeps on asking me and asking me sometimes more than once a day! how do i tell him to stop asking me without being completely rude?
Wow. Someone must be really desperate. Next time he asks, starting listing off why you wont go out with him. If that may seem rude, you can just tell him you dont think it'd work out between you two, or you like someone else, or you dont think you're the right one for him. If he doesn't accept the fact that you wont go out with him, quit being polite and start acting rude. But I'd keep that as a last resort.
right now i have 2 guys fighting over me and this seucks. i like them both and they both like me, but it seems that everything i do one of them is getting hurt and or upset, i just dont no what to do, i like them both. but i dont want neone to get hurt, but in reality all three of us is gettin hurt bcuz i cant take this, it sucks so much and i dont no hwat to do...help!! what am i supose to do about this...
The obvious answer would be to choose one of them... Figure out which one you like more and if you're indecisive, better make a list of good and bad qualities in both of them and choose then. If you don't choose one of them or neither of them soon, you guys are going to keep being hurt.
i just got back from california and i saw my whole family on my dads side which is alot . including my bro. who i am in love w/ now thats all i think about . i mean he is so cute and perfect. is this normal ???
love
Uh... Falling in love with siblings is rare... but not unlikely... and it's not really normal. Sorry.
i have to write a letter to romeo and juliet pretending it is the day before their wedding and need to give advice.
the thing is that i have to talk like shakespere does.
anyone have any ideas?

That is a website that has Shakespearean-English dictionary. It might be a little tedious, but that'll help you figure out how to write in shakespearean :)
Do colleges look at just your last 4 years of high school? Or do they go beyond that?
They look at high school years. Especially junior year!! Freshman year they almost never look at... it's basically sophmore, junior and senior... but junior is the most important yea
My bf is always saying something nasty about his friends behind there backs. It makes me wonder if he does the same to me.
He has one friend who is 37 and doesnt have a girlfriend. He was laughing about him one day and said "that guys still a virgin". Another friend of his has a cushy job selling a health food product from his home and he said "he spends all day sitting behind his computer".
He has also said things about friends of mine. He told me he thought my one friend was gay because he didnt have a girlfriend. I defended him and said he just hadnt found the right guy yet. He also told me that any guy or girl who didnt have a bf or gf by a certain age was gay. He's said some pretty mean things about gays as well. He also makes snide remarks about woman, and thinks that men are superior.
I don't know why he has to act like this, I don't like him when he acts this way. When he's alone with me he is really sweet but when he's around his other friends this really mean side of him comes out.
Is this a guy thing? Are all guys like this? And what can I say to him to get him to stop making all the put downs?
It might be that he needs to put others down to feel 'superior' himself? Not all guys are like that, i can definitely assure you. I think he's trying to show that he can still be a 'man' even with a girlfriend? I wouldn't know.
You should talk to him and ask him why he's always putting people down. If he gets mad, just calmly tell him you don't really like it and if he would please stop. Talking always helps... just don't start yelling or anything
*On New Years im going over a friends and I was wondering what you thought about The Dukes of Hazards ( with Jessica Simpson).
*Rate on a scale from 1-10 .
*Something else you can help me with is if you can name some really really good movie title that you can rent. It has to be something scary funny and new.
Thank you I'll also be giving out 5's !! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~♥~~~~~~~~~~~~

Brothers Grimm is scary funny... *coughgirlwithnoface* i was watching it around midnight last night w/ my sister and it scared us silly. :)
okay all my friends always say knock on wood or i guess im going to have to knock on wood. and i never know quite what they mean. so could someone tell me what it means??
thanks
It's based on a superstition where, if you dont want to jinx yourself, you might want to knock wood :)
To touch wood or knock on wood is a superstition action to ward off any evil consequences or bad luck, perhaps because of some recent action you’ve taken or untimely boasting about your good fortune (“I’ve never been in danger of drowning, touch wood”); it can also be a charm to bring good luck.
I am tired of looking at my plain white painted windowsill in my dorm. What's a plant that looks pretty but will not die if (more like when) I forget to water it, or leave it shut up in my cold room for a month while I am at home for break?
fake flowers could work, but if you want a real flower, orchids are known to last for a while :) cactus's too lol Geraniums dont need to be watered much, especially over winter.
