What does the saying "Eat your heart out" mean?

Basically it means, "I'm better than you." Like if I did a really cool dance and then looked at a snobby girl I didn't like and said, "Eat your heart out.", I would be saying, "Hahahahahaaa I'm a better dancer than you are nah nah, loser..." and so on.

i THOUGHT it meant 'eat as much as you want' but i checked and a website said,

"Intended to make one feel bitterness or pain as they long for something out of reach."

I don't know which one is right. You can trust the internet i guess.
