I'm a college sophomore, music ed major (all of the academics-relationship-extracurriculars-applying to college-switching your major-stuff), a musician, and a hardcore music fanatic. I am very quirky. I love Disney movies. I love giving advice. I also love reading, writing, movies, music, computers, piano, etc etc. I'm very honest, up front, and even blunt about some things. I'm pretty opinionated, but I know when to shut up. I like playing football and watching PSU football, as well as basketball, volleyball, and baseball in general. I know lots of stuff and like sharing my knowledge, and I tutor, so I'm all for the helping people with homework thing. :)

hey im the one wrote about a boy named michael anderson well he aske me out and i said no just thought you would like and update.
p.s. happy i didnt spell any words wrong
lol bye (link)
|
I'm perplexed. You said you liked him, he asked you out, and you said no?
Hm.
|
Ok, I had a boyfriend let call him (troy) but anyway I really like him but i broke up with him to have sex with someone else. he stop talking to me for a year and now we just started to talking again we are closer than ever. he said that he would take me back if his two friends give him a good reason to go back with me. But i don't understand what he means? I think he cares about me but don't like me. Because i fall asleep in the cafeteria and no body woke me up. BUT HE DID. So does he like me or what? (link)
|
No offense, but maybe he was just thinking, "Hey, maybe she'd like to go to class, I should wake her up".
I think you hurt him pretty badly and he's not going to want to take you back. That's the blunt truth and there's not really much else to say.
|
I see a school counsleor and a counsler outside of school and there is this one girl who is going out with my ex and she's spreadin crap about me like saying that i'm tring to break them up and crap like that and i want to kick her ass cuz other ppl are stoppin me in the hall saying don't break them up or i'll kick your ass. and even her boyfriend (my ex) is getting really pissed about this so like i want to kick her ass so bad but i'm not sure if i want to. and my counsler said to talk to her but i can't cuz she's pissin me off and if i try to talk to her i'm afraid to i might kill her. and plus i got into a fist fight with my really good friend. (link)
|
See if you can set up a counseling session with both the counselor AND the girl, like a peer mediation setting. The counselor will (hopefully) be able to keep you under control so you don't end up "kicking her ass".
Good luck.

Does anyone know of a good leg exercise? Ever since I stopped taking gym classes, my legs have gotten out of shape. Would you know a good one for both weight loss and to get them back into semi-shape? Esp. for someone with not a lot of time or space? (link)
|
My quad exercises from physical therapy:
* Stand with your back against a wall, feet shoulder-width apart, about 8 inches from the wall. With your knees bending forward and not bending out, squat down and hold for a few seconds and slide back up. Repeat as many times as you want.
* Laying down on your back, tighten your quad muscles in both legs so it feels like they are pushing down on the surface you are laying on. Do this 20 times.
* Laying down on your back, keep one leg flat and raise the other straight into the air. Without bending your knee, hold behind your knee with both hands for 15 seconds. Repeat 10 times for each leg.
* Laying down on your back, bend one knee. Keeping the other leg straight, bring it up to the level of your knee and hold it there for five seconds, then lower it back down to the ground. Repeat 15 times for each leg, 3 times each. Alternate legs to avoid soreness.
* Laying on your right side, bend your left leg over your right thigh and hold it there with your hand. Lift your right leg about 6 inches off the ground- don't try to hold it up. Lift about 15 times, then rest for a few minutes. Repeat 3 times, then switch to your other leg.
Running on a treadmill and biking on a stationary bike are also good for your legs.
Take care and good luck!

Okay, well for a while now I've wanted to babysit but each time I pass out fliers nobody replies; (which is probably because they are not all thought out as great as people want them to be). So, I was just wondering if you have any ideas because you being 16, may have given you more opportunities to babysit and me, well I'm only 13 (4 months I'm 14) and I want to make a few easy bucks because I feel guilty always asking my parents when I need something.
Do you have any ideas of little jobs I can do to get some extra money? Or do you have any ideas on how to get people to hire you for babysitting jobs?
Thanks for Reading. (link)
|
I babysit my four little cousins pretty often, but I have first dibs there because I'm related.
If you go to church or some other religious service, that is the BEST PLACE to start. Look around for people with kids and talk to them, or put fliers up in your church bulliten board. Make the kind of fliers where you can rip off the tabs, because parents with kids will like having something they can take and not have to stop and write down. If your church has a nursery, volunteer in there to get experience-- then on your fliers you can write, "EXPERIENCED with children". If you want hired, act responsible and make sure everything on your fliers is spelled correctly and looks neat and organized- you want people to respect you.
Next, try around the neighborhood. Put fliers under windshield wipers and in between doors-- not in mailboxes, that's illegal :)
As for other jobs, you could clean if you're good at that, and since it's the holiday season, you could offer to wrap presents- many people are too busy to do it themselves, I wrap my aunt's gifts for her every year.
Good luck to you..... then send money to me. ;)

OK, i just got my first period today. Unfortunately, my mom is on vacation so I have no clue what to do. Am I supposed to wear a pad/tampon while I sleep? How often should i change them? THank you so much for your help! (link)
|
Don't wear tampons in bed. That's how some people get TSS. Plus after a while, it would leak and get all over your sheets, and that's something not fun to deal with when mom's away.
Pads are better to wear while sleeping. To avoid the "run off" that stains clothes and sheets, fold a few squares of toilet paper and put them in your underwear, right at the back of your pad. If you wake up and some things are stained, get some Shout and spray it on whatever got bloody. Leave the item sit for a while, and then wash it. The stains should come right out, so don't freak out about it.
You'll know when to change them, because you'll get an uncomfortable sensation that whatever you're using has totally been absorbed. It's like a built in sense of paranoia for females. DON'T FLUSH PADS IN THE TOILET. They'll clog it and it'll overflow. Some tampons are ok to flush but I never do because I'm paranoid. Some tampon applicators are also ok to flush but check the wrapper before you do so.
If you get cramps, Midol, Pamprin, and Advil work very well. It's best not to freak out about anything until your mom gets home. If you have any aunts or grandmothers close by, you can always call them for help. Good luck to you!

ok at ed white high school there dis boi micheal anderson anyone know him well if u do tell him i like him pplz (link)
|
1) You go to high school. Learn to spell.
2) The chances of anyone here going to the same school as you are slim to none.
3) If anyone knew who this guy was, they wouldn't know who YOU WERE, seeing as your name is not on your post.
The end.

there are two boys that i love dearly, but my heart aches deeply. one of them is something i have always wished for and everything my parents could want. but the other boy is everything i have never known and wish to know. he is everything i have told myself i am against since i am a small child. do i follow my heart and go with this boy, or my head that is telling me what i know is right? (link)
|
Follow your head. While the rebel in you may be wanting to break out of its shell, if you don't know anything about this "bad boy", it could turn into something, ANYTHING with dire consequences- rape, drugs, abuse, etc etc. If you really want to go for this guy, like you think there may be some chemistry there- get to know him more first. Talk to him at school. Talk to him online. Talk to him on the phone. It doesn't matter, just get to know him before you make any decisions.

All of my freinds have guys that like them and their all going out and everything. As far as I know nobody likes me. How can I find out if anyone does? Or how can I get somone to like me. Its verry annoying when all of my freinds are always going out and I'm always at home. (link)
|
The only way you can get people to like you is to be yourself. You can't force someone to like you, and it's also incredibly hard to figure out when someone does-- it's all risk and chance. If you reek desperation (ie, "I NEED A BOYFRIEND NOW"), no guy is going to want to go out with you anyway. To some girls, boyfriends come a dime a dozen. I have plenty of friends that have had a gazillion boyfriends already. As for me, it's my junior year of high school, and I've had two meaningful boyfriends. And you know what? I'm fine with that. Because I'd rather have two meaningful relationships than eighty one week "I liked you yesterday but today I like her" relationships.
It may be annoying when all of your friends are always going out and you're "stuck at home"- so it may be a good idea to make some new friends. If your girls don't learn that it's not worth losing a friendship over a guy, they aren't worth keeping around anyway.
Good luck, and save desperately wanting a relationship for a guy that really means something to you. :)

there's this really hot guy. he refers to me as his little sister. i wasn't hit head on with love as most people do. love sneaked carefully upon me so i didn't notice. then... it hit me hard. and now i can't shake it off. i don't want to ruin this wonderful friendship i have with him, but i can't help wishing we were more than that. what should i do? how do i shake off this feeling? should i even ignore it? what can i dooooo??? (link)
|
I had a "big brother" before and the same thing happened. Then my friends found out I liked him and ruined everything.
Try to shake off the feeling, as hard as it sounds. It's better to keep the friendship and not do anything about the relationship. If he eventually makes a move, yay. But if he calls you his little sister, chances are you're stuck that way.

Why in the heck do I still have zits at 31? This is ridiculous! My grandmother promised me they would go away, but now she is the only thing that has gone away. Will they go away after I have children? Is it hopeless? (link)
|
Go to a derm and get medicine. I'm 16 and I take minocycline twice a day and it's the best thing that's ever happened to me because I haven't had any major acne for about a year now. For real, if you ever want them to disappear, you have to do something about it. Mother Nature likes to torture people who wait for things to go away.
|
ok well him and i were going out with eachother for about a year then i broke up with him and he is going out with my bestfriend and i told him i still really really liked him but he said he already knew and stuff like that.... (link)
|
He obviously doesn't care anymore, and I know it hurts, but you have to let him AND your best friend go. For real, who hooks up with their best friend's boyfriend after they've been going out for a year? WHAT'S UP WITH THAT!
|
my ex and i are very good friends and i have found a new boyfriend. let's call my ex "Chicken" we are very comfortable and open with eachother so i told him about the new guy in my life, who i shall call "Squishy". after, Chicken was very quiet then asked if i love Squishy. What does this mean? he won't tell me. (link)
|
It means Chicken still likes you and is obviously jealous of Squishy.
Let me point out that I love the fact that other people use "Matt", "Jake", "John", etc. and you used Chicken and Squishy. *runs away laughing*
|
i hope i put this in the right category... anyhoo, here's my situation...
i know this guy (we're friends, but not close) and i THINK he 'likes' my friend, but i'm not sure. he's pretty friendly with everyone, and it may just be me being paranoid, but i think he's being kinda flirty with her. AND i think she's being that way back to him. now my friend has never been out with anyone before but i think they both 'like' each other, and i'm not sure i like what's happeneing. how do you tell if a guy really likes someone or if that's just their nature? what does everyone think? what would you do if you were in my shoes? (link)
|
It's nice of you to be so worried about your friends, but quit obsessing over the could-be relationship and let them take their own course. It sounds like you may have answered your own question when you said "he's pretty friendly with everyone, and I may be being overly paranoid BUT..." If he's "friendly" with everyone, it's probably just his nature. However, if your friends are liking each other, let them figure it out... it's not your job :)

What's the appropriate response when someone e-mails you a question that's addressed in your site's Frequently Asked Questions page? See, I've got this forum up at spacefem.com and people just don't seem to understand the benifits that come from clicking that "FAQ" link, they still bug us all the time. Should we shame them endlessly? Politely direct them to the FAQ page? Just answer their question and accept the fact that people on the internet can't seem to learn to read? (link)

Slam their heads against brick walls.
Maybe I'm just biased. :)

The musical director at my theatre company has asked everyone who plays an instrument to bring it with them to the next rehearsal. I travel to rehearsals on the bus so I'm not sure whether I should. The cello doesn't belong to me but to the County music service although the case is my own( it's a hard case at least). The cello is on my Household Insurance.
Do you think I should bring it or not? I have been specifically asked to bring it because there is a shortage of bass instruments. (link)
|
Since you travel on a bus and you have a hard case, you could take it on the bus. If you don't want to take it on the bus, talk around to people that drive and see if someone would be willing to pick you up and take you along.

do pop tarts qualify more as a "breakfast" or "junk food"? i'm aiming for breakfast here, don't let me down. (link)

I always eat poptarts for breakfast. :)

My cat, whom I owned for a happy 11 months, ran away. His name was Caspian and he was completely grey, not to mention the most sweet tempered and cutest cat I've even known. My mother let him out one day (even though we both decided before we got him that he would be an INDOOR cat AT ALL TIMES) and he never came back. This, of course, depressed me greatly and he still hasn't come back after two weeks. Slowly, I've let my hope die. How do I deal? (link)
|
Well, if you want a success story, an area family lost their dog 2 years ago and ran a "lost dog" column until their dog was found and returned to them this summer.
Don't give up hope. Put up posters and if you have the cash run an ad in the paper. Good luck.

ok i'm a teenager and least year i almost commited suicide over a guy i really liked and this year i've been thinking about my father (i have never met him andi really want to know more about him and accually meet him) and my mother will not tell me anything and earlyer today i was ready to write a couples of letters to my family and friends saying how much i love them and stuff like that nad i was ready to take a couples of different strong pills and kill myself but then i stopped and called up the guy i almost killed myself over and i asked him what he thinks other people and himself would feel if i killed myself or died and he said that he would be really upset cuz we went out a couple of times and we've been in each others lives for a long time and he said that he wouldn't know what to do with out me but i don't know i just can't handle all this so someone please tell me what i should do cuz i just feel like takin my life (link)
|
DO NOT GO THROUGH WITH THIS.
Do not make a permanent solution for a temporary problem. It's extremely rare you find the person you will marry in your adolescent years, so why give the ultimate sacrifice for some guy? You mentioned you'd like to meet your father. How are you ever going to do that if you kill yourself? No, it's not worth it.
Talk to a trusted adult, clergyperson, or guidance counselor ASAP. There are hotlines you can call for no charge if you want someone to talk to immediately. Don't give up your life for this guy. You have too much potential in your life to throw it all away now.

How can I keep from flicking little bits of plaque onto the bathroom mirror when I floss my teeth?
(link)
|
Don't stand so close to the mirror while flossing.
For real, I can sit and watch TV while flossing just fine. It's not that hard to floss without looking.
