does anyone poke their ear with a stick to get junk out? or is my family just weird. it hurts so much!

Don't use a Q-tip, that just pushes it further in. Use a pen cap or something. If it hurts, then you're pushing it in too far and you should stop.

15/f - I really need help with a physics question my teacher gave me. Weve already gone over it, but i wasnt at school, so now he wont tell me how to work it out and what the answer is even though i need to know bc i was absent. Here it is:

"The information on a Party Balloon kit containing a tank of Helium states how many of each size balloon you can expect to fill from the tank. The label states that the tank will fill THIRTY 9-inch balloons. You plan to use 11-inch balloons instead of 9" ones, so how many can you expect to be able to fill?"

can anyone please solve this and tell me how to work it? I'd really REALLY appreciate it.

Doing it with a ratio is easier, BL4CKB3L7_F41RY. 30/x=11/9, 24 balloons. Also, most balloons aren't perfect spheres, so a ratio is more accurate.

This is a physics question i really need help on. Can anyone figure out for me if MITTENS or GLOVES are better to keep your hands warm in cold weather?

thank youuuuuu!

Materials with the highest density and volume insulate best.

I really need answers on these please:

If all dimensions of a house were doubled, its FLOOR AREA would go up by a factor of:
2 3 4 8 or 16?

If all dimensions of a house were doubled, its VOLUME would go up by a factor of:
3 8 6 4 or 2?

Merci.

I figured it out by doing a calculation of each, you should've been able to do it yourself.

i have a motorola razr v3xx platinum. when i'm sending a text it gives me a limit of 160 characters before it starts a new text.

other razrs allow up to 450 characters. does anybody know how i can get the 450 limit on my razr too?

The SMS character limit is always 160. That version of the Razr simply sends multiple SMS messages without informing the user. There isn't any way to change it on your version.

how do you turn a picture black and white if its already on your computer?

Install irfanview:
http://www.irfanview.com/
Open the image with irfanview, and then go to image menu, "convert to greyscale". Done.

Which has more density: a cup full of water OR 5 gallons of water?

They have the same density. Density is mass/volume, so no matter how *much* of one thing you have, it always has the same density.

ONE kg of lead or ONE kg of aluminum?

**Looking back, flare is correct. Aluminum would have more volume, because it is less dense.**

They have the same volume. It's like "which weights more, a pound of feather or a pound of lead".

in my global studies class for halloween we are decoration pumpkins as history characters. it doesn't matter who or what time period they come from. does anyone have any ideas as to who i could do? (someone already claimed abe lincoln)

This is related to your question here:
http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=519200
I'm answering this unrelated question so that you are alerted.

I've just come across some additional information about your problem you may be interested in. Your problem is a known bug caused by the 2.0.0.8 automatic firefox update. The solution is to navigate to C:\documents and settings\your user name\application data[hidden]\mozilla\firefox\RandomCharacters.default

Then, with firefox CLOSED, delete these three files:
extensions.rdf
extensions.ini
extensions.cache

That should fix it. In the interest of fairness, please rate only one of my answers about this issue.

I have had a song in my Music file for years that I now learn does not have the correct title nor is the recording artist(s) correct, at least as far as I have been able to determine. Music of the 50's thru the 80's is a hobby of mine and it bugs me that I have this song that no one seems to be able to identify.
Who can help? Any web sites known that will listen to my mp3 and answer this mystery?

Upload it and post it here and other sites. You can use divshare or in.solit.us to host it:

I can't read the notes! I've really tried. Are there people who just can't read notes or something? I've looked at websites online, asked my teacher, everything. I've been playing piano for like a month, but only by memory or writing down the number of what finger to play. How long does it usually take for someone to read notes? Do you have a really easy way? I can't even read them with the whole acronym thing. I feel so stupid!

On each piece, write out the meanings of each note. Eventually you'll know which ones to write without looking them up, and then you'll be able to play without writing out the meanings. It will take time, for me it took months, but you'll get it eventually.

30/x=11/9. Cross multiply and divide, 24 balloons, with about half a balloon worth of helium to spare.

Opacity code, whatever. I need it. (-:
Thanks alot.

(Myspace blog, by the way.)

Just set a background color and you won't be able to see through it.

In myspace it might be necessary to do this:

Background-color is the same as bgcolor. Z-index makes it on top of all other elements. !important makes it overrule other myspace styles.

Okay, really stupid question here, but what exactly are dreams? And do you have one every night? Someone told me that you may not always remember the dream you had once you've woken up, but you always have one. Is that true?

Thanks.

It's your mind moving things from active memory to storage. That's why it's hard to think if you haven't slept. You have one sleep cycle every 1.5 hours of sleep, and on average a cycle has 3 dreams, though this can vary significantly.

I want to put music on my verizon lg 8300, but I can only fit a few songs in the phone's memory. I have a microSD card that I use for transferring the music over, but it won't stay in the phone. I have to push on it really hard for it to work, so I can't just leave the music on the card, which makes me really mad, but what can you do. Anyways, is there a program that I can download for free that would reduce the quality of the files or something so they take up less space? Thanks.

Yes, you can use mediacoder to do that:
http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/
In the "audio" tab, select "copy audio". Then on the right, move the "bitrate/quality" slider. In the "output" tab, select the file destination. Click start at the top, and wait for it to finish.

were learning about monsoons at school, and were doing a project on them. does anyone know anything on where i can find a monsoon graph in africa in years 1000-1500? THX

That is specialized information you're not going to find at Advicenators. You need to go to the public(not school) library, and you need to use their catalog to find books related to your subject. If, after a few hours, you can't find it in the books, you need to ask the librarian at the Reference Desk; they will help you find it.

i've seen people with all kinds of different stuff by their display name. such as a music note, a slanted smiley face, and other diferent stuff.

i know how to do the basic ones like a heart, spade, etc. but does anyone have or know where i can find the codes for the different ones?

**HTML entities don't work on Myspace anymore. Alt codes and copy/paste do.**

Those are called unicode characters. Here is a mostly complete list of them:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_unicode_characters

To make them into an HTML entity like ♥, take the unicode number, put an &#x in front of it and an ; at the end of it. The unicode number of a musical note is U+2669, so its html entity is ♩. Putting that HTML entity almost anywhere will turn it into a musical note; in fact, if you're viewing this on my column, you will see a note.

You can also use alt codes to make special characters, see this list of them:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Alt_keycodes#Table_of_characters_.28Alt_Keycodes.29
Put your cursor where you want the special character, hold down alt, and on the keypad(numbers on the right of the keyboard), type the alt code. When you release alt, the character will appear. This method includes less characters, but it works in more places.

-λ Using entities, it appears only on my column.
-λ Using alt-codes, it appears here, but on my column it doesn't look as it should.

..If you had the flu, and you threw up, well what if you got up and jumped around or something, and then you threw up again, and did the same thing over and over for a few times, what would happen?

would you lose alot of weight? or could possibly die?

p.s. i'm not doing this, or going to, i just always wondered that, and i get scared when i get the flu, i'm afraid i'm gonna keep throwing up and throwing up):
thankks!

You would run out of liquid in your stomach and just gag, with nothing coming out of your mouth. This doesn't cause much harm, and it's nothing to worry about. You will not lose any more weight than you lose from not eating, and you won't die unless it goes on for many days(see a doctor after 2 days).

It's like smoking; 1 or even 100 cigarettes are not going to cause any noticeable harm, but if you make it part of your life it will.
