turn a picture black and white

how do you turn a picture black and white if its already on your computer?

Do you have Microsoft Office Picture Manager? If so, open that application up. Click on fix, and select edit contrast. You can not only turn it into Black and White, but other colors like blue, purple, or pink if that interests you as well. If you're unsure if you have it, do a search on your computer. If you're pretty certain you don't there are websites out there that you can upload pictures on and edit them easily.

Install irfanview:

Open the image with irfanview, and then go to image menu, "convert to greyscale". Done.
