advice
21/f
I have terrible body image, but I also despise myself for caring too much about what I look like. I am now over 200 pounds, and I am 5'5". All of my adult life I have been around this weight. The only exception is that I lost about 30 pounds once, but I didn't keep it off. I tell people I want to lose weight for my health, but I know deep down that the majority of my motivation is because I hate the way I look.
Despite being obese, I seem to be in pretty good health. I have excellent blood pressure. I have perfect cholesterol levels. There is absolutely nothing wrong with me health-wise. I work out regularly. I drink nothing but water, tea, and juice, except for one or two 12 oz beers on occasion. I eat mostly vegetables, rice, beans, fruit, nuts, and lean chicken breasts. I cook most of my own food, and I won't even keep things like butter or salt in my kitchen. It doesn't seem to matter. I know to lose weight I am going to have to eat less and work out more. I just wish it wasn't such an emotional issue.
My questions are:
1. How can I get to a point where I want to lose weight for the right reasons?
2. Why do I have the healthiest habits of anyone I know, yet I'm heavier than all these people who regularly drink soda, eat fast food, and sit on their butts watching television?
3. How can you improve your body image and reverse seemingly irreparable damage to it? Am I doomed to be this way for the rest of my life?
this the anser i ment to give you sorry it does take some people less then a hor to lose 500 calories but your right thier are more calories hope this works better ok hope you reach your goal have a good day!!! Running is one of the best exercises you can do for your body, your mind and your waistline. While running isn't for everyone, it is one of the most accessible activities there is- all you need is a good pair of running shoes and an iPod nano (ok, you don't really NEED the nano). While running comes very natural to most of us, building up endurance for running takes time, patience, and persistence. If you just take it slow and gradual, you can start calling yourself a 'runner' in no time. (As with any change in your exercise level, you should consult your doctor before starting a new running regimen.)
Benefits
There are plenty of benefits to a regular running routine - running can make you feel good, look good, breathe easier, more coordinated, more energized and it's great for your bones and your heart. Some people run just because they enjoy it, others run to lose weight, clear their mind, or improve their health.
Running is one of the most effective ways to manage your weight because it burns a ton of calories. When you're burning more calories than you're consuming, you lose weight. To lose one pound of body weight, your body must burn 3,500 more calories than it consumes. Since most runners can easily burn 500 calories in less than an hour, running once a day can help you lose about a pound a week (assuming no change in your diet). Of course, the actual amount of calories you burn depends on a number of factors, including your weight and how fast you run.
Running regularly can be great for your heart health as well. Running can lower your blood pressure and help give your arteries a good workout to keep them functioning smoothly. When you run, your arteries expand and contract much faster than they do normally - so you're actually improving the way your body functions with each stride! Running can also help slow down the aging process. People who run regularly experience slower loss in bone and muscle than sedentary people. Running helps strengthen your muscles and bones so they are not as susceptible to weakening as you age.
Ever heard of a runner's high? Running triggers mood-altering hormones called endorphins that help you feel happier and less stressed. These endorphins can create a euphoric feeling, which is what is often referred to as a runner's high. Running can also give you a great sense of accomplishment, and help shift your focus away from negative stressors and into the present, further enhancing your mood and relieving stress.
Notice how graceful a Gazelle looks, even when it's standing still? Running can actually help you improve your coordination, especially trail running. The uneven surface of the trail combined with obstacles such as rocks and tree roots can make trail running pretty challenging. People who regularly run on trails learn to maintain better control over their bodies to prevent tripping and stumbling while running. Running on a paved road can also improve coordination because it forces you to keep your body upright and moving in the right direction.
Running Gear
Shoes
The most important piece of equipment for running is your shoes. Finding the right shoes for you can make a big difference in your comfort, and actually help prevent injury and keep you running longer. Choosing the right shoe is based on a surprising number of factors, including your body type, foot arch, foot shape and how you run. One key issue is whether your foot naturally rolls inward ('pronates') or outward ('supponates') when you run. It's important to get a shoe that supports your foot in the right way to prevent it from rolling too much in either direction. Most running shoe stores will be able to look at your foot arch and watch you walk to tell you which way your foot rolls and what level of support is right for you. There are three distinct types of feet: flat feet, high arched feet and neutral feet. If you have flat feet (not much of an arch in the bottom of your foot), you're likely a pronator, which means your foot rolls inward when you run. You will most likely need a foot with a lot of support, usually called a 'stability' or 'motion-control' shoe. If you have high arches, your likely to supinate, which means your foot rolls outward when you run. You'll need shoes with a lot of flexibility, usually called 'flexible' or 'cushioned'. If you have a neutral foot (most common), you can wear most running shoes, but you don't want to buy a shoe that has too much stability because it could counteract your natural, neutral step. Your foot type is not the only factor that affects how your foot rolls, so you may want to find a knowledgeable running shoe salesperson to take a look at your step and help you pick out the right shoe if you have any doubt. Not all shoes fit the same, and everyone's foot is a bit different, so it's important that you try on a few pairs of shoes to find one that fits you comfortably. You may even want to run around the store a bit to really get a sense of how the shoe feels. If you've been running, it may be a good idea to bring in your current pair of running shoes- the salesperson can tell a lot from how you wear your shoes down and what parts of the sole are most worn.
Here's a Shoe Finder that can help you find a running shoe that's right for you:
http://www.therunnershigh.com/shoes/wizard/
An important thing to remember is to replace your shoes every 300 - 400 miles. Wearing old, worn out shoes can lead to injury while running. If you run about 3 - 5 miles, 4 - 5 times per week, you should be replacing your shoes every 3 - 4 months!
Clothes
One of the great things about running is that you don't need any special gear or equipment, other than a good pair of running shoes. You can wear anything that's comfortable for you to run in. Many runners prefer to wear clothing that is lightweight, loose and breathable. Most running apparel is not made of cotton, because cotton absorbs moisture as you sweat. Most athletic apparel companies make running shirts, shorts and pants out of non-cotton synthetic, or 'technical', fabrics with technical-sounding names like CoolMax, Dri-Fit and Gore- Tex that help to wick away moisture from your body. Some of the most common running apparel brands include Nike, Hind, Brooks, New Balance, Asics, Adidas and Under Armour.
Underwear One of the most underrated and important piece of running apparel is underwear. Wearing a base layer of synthetic fabrics will make the biggest difference in keeping you cool and dry. For women, wearing a jog bra and underwear made of synthetic polypropylene materials can help to reduce chafing and wick away moisture from the body. You may also want to look for a seamless bra so the seams don't dig into you while you run. For men, a pair of synthetic under-shorts or boxer briefs can make a big difference in prevent chafing and keeping you comfortable.
Socks You may want to consider buying yourself some non-cotton, or synthetic, socks, especially if you think you may be running in the rain. Synthetic socks can help prevent blisters, and keep your feet cool and dry while you run. If you are blister-prone, you may also consider special running socks that have added cushioning around blister-prone spots.
Hat or Visor If you're going to be running in the hot sun, or in the rain, you may want to take along a hat or visor to protect your face. Many stores sell synthetic hats or visors which, again, can help wick away moisture and keep your head cool and dry.
Sunglasses If you're running on a sunny day, you may want to take a long a pair of sunglasses. There are many sunglasses designed specifically for sports, which tend to be made of plastic materials and to be tougher than typical sunglasses to withstand potential shocks or falls, and stay snuggly on your face while running. By keeping the sun out of your eyes, a good pair of sunglasses can even save you energy by keeping you from squinting and allowing you to relax your face.
Common Injuries
Shin Splints 'Shin splints' is the common term for pain along the front of the lower leg, in or near your shinbone (tibia). Shin splints are most commonly brought on by running, because of the force put on your shin and the connective tissue that connects the bone to the muscles surrounding it when you run. This force can lead to painful inflammation of the connective tissue around your shinbone. Running on hard surfaces can put added strain on your front leg muscles.
Symptoms of shin splints include:
* Lower leg pain which subsides when you stop running, but returns when you start running again.
* Tenderness around the inside of the shin bone.
* Bumps around the inside of the shin bone.
* Pain when the toes or foot are bent downwards.
* Redness on the inside of the shin.
So, what do I do about it? The good news is that shin splints can be usually treated with rest, ice, proper footwear and possibly some minor modifications in your exercise routine.
Here's what you can do about it:
* Rest to allow the injury to heal.
* Ice your lower legs for 10 - 15 every 4 to 6 hours to reduce pain and inflammation.
* Make sure to elevate your foot.
* To help reduce the inflammation further, you may want to take aspirin or ibuprofen.
* Wear shock absorbing insoles to help reduce the shock on the lower leg.
Blisters
You've probably gotten a blister at some time in your life. Those small clear-liquid filled bubbles on your foot can be surprisingly painful, and in some cases keep you from running. Blisters are usually caused by friction between your skin and your sock, particularly if your foot is wet or very sweaty.
So, what should I do about it?
To prevent blisters, it's important to minimize the friction between your foot and your sock by making sure you wear shoes that fit you properly. Shoes that are too tight can make blisters more likely, you may even want to buy running shoes a 1/2 size bigger than your normal size because your feet may swell when you run. Another way to help prevent blisters is to buy non-cotton (synthetic) socks that help to wick away moisture and reduce friction. Some special running socks also have extra padding in certain hotspot areas to reduce friction.
One of the least known, and best, ways to prevent or treat blisters is using moleskin. Moleskin is a tough, soft cloth-like material, usually with an adhesive pad on the back. If there's a place on your foot that is being rubbed by your shoe, or you think a blister is coming on, you can cut a small square of moleskin and stick it to your foot to cover that area. The smooth, soft moleskin reduces the irritation and friction to help prevent blisters. If you already have a blister, you can cut out a hole in the moleskin and place it on top of your blister to help prevent continued rubbing. This will reduce the pain and help the blister to heal more quickly.
Blisters typically heal by themselves, so if it's not too painful, you can let it take its course. If the blister is causing a lot of painful, you can pierce it with a sterile needle and drain the fluid. Make sure to put on antiseptic cream (like Neosporin) and cover it with a bandage to allow it to heal properly.
IT (Illiotibial) Band Issues
Many new runners experience pain on the outside of their knee or in their hip that is caused by a tight IT band. The IT band is a tissue that connects the top of your hip to the outside of your knee, and helps stabilize your knee. A tight IT band can rub against the outside of your knee, causing painful inflammation. The most common causes of IT band problems are improper stretching, warm up or cool down, and overtraining.
So, what should I do about it?
To prevent IT band problems, make sure to properly stretch your quads and thighs and warm up before your running, and to take the time to cool down afterwards. You should also increase your running distances and durations gradually, increasing too quickly or trying to do too much can lead to a tight IT band.
If you're experiencing problems with your IT band, you may want to see a physical therapist or sports medicine specialist who can evaluate you and give you certain exercises that can help strengthen your hip and massage to loosen your IT band. You'll likely want to give your legs time to rest and heal. You most likely can continue running, but you should stop if you continue to feel pain. Some physical therapists recommend using a Foam Roller. You lie down on a mat face down, place the Foam Roller under your leg, and move your body slowly up and down along the mat so that the Roller massages your IT band from just below your hip to just above your knee. (Warning: it will hurt, but not as much as your IT band tightening up on your when you're out there on your run). Side Stitches
A side stitch is a sharp pain on your right side just below your ribcage caused by a muscle spasm in your diaphragm. The jarring motion of running while breathing in and out stretches the ligaments that connect your diaphragm to your organs, and can cause your diaphragm to spasm or cramp. Side stitches can be brought on by quick, shallow breathing, and often occur if you've eaten just before running.
So, what should I do about it?
To prevent a side stitch, take deep, steady breaths when you run. Shallow breathing tends to increase the risk of cramping because the diaphragm is always slightly raised and never lowers far enough to allow the ligaments to relax. Having food in your stomach may increase your risk of cramping, so it's best to avoid eating 1 - 2 hours before your run. Stretching your sides may also help to prevent a stitch.
If you do get a side stitch while you're running, stop running, put your hand on the right side of your belly and push up, lifting the liver slightly. Inhale and exhale evenly as you push up. You can also try deep breathing, and stretching your sides by raising either arm straight up and leaning toward the opposite direction for 30 seconds. If the pain persists, see your doctor.

I look in the mirror and my reaction is always like- oh wow my hair looks so bad. Or my makeup looks so ugly and dull. But then again, my friends are like- shut up you're beautiful. I am dissatisfied with many things about myself- I have a saggy ass, I have a camel toe when I wear volleyball spandex, my breasts are tiny, my whole body shape is petite. I'm tall and skinny. I have love handles, my hair is frizzy and only looks good when I straighten it and it gets even more damaged, I pick at my cuitcles/nails and bite my nails so they are ugly, I can't wear tampons still, I love to sing but I have a terrible voice. How to Be More Graceful
There is grace in disposition or acts and there is physical grace. Here we will discuss the latter and how to be more graceful. Natural physical grace isn't something everyone is born with. Many of us tend to rush, slouch and move with less grace than we'd like. You can be more graceful by being aware of your body and training yourself to move in a more self-assured manner.

1.
Step 1
Stand tall. Bad posture is the anathema of physical grace. Practice standing tall, with your shoulders back and abdomen pulled in. Not only does this make you appear more graceful, it elongates your body and has a thinning affect.
2.
Step 2
Slow down. Many of us rush through our day moving quickly from task to task and place to place. Slow down and become aware of your surroundings. Graceful people don’t rush into a room looking harried, they move slowly and purposefully. Slowing down will also help you avoid falls, spills and other less graceful mishaps.
3.
Step 3
Get stronger. Graceful movement is much easier when you have strong muscles, particularly core muscles. Consider strength training routines that focus on making your muscles stronger and more flexible. Pilates and yoga are excellent choices for strength, coordination and balance.
4.
Step 4
Watch your stride. Stomping or walking heavily is not only anti-graceful, but it’s not particularly good for your joints. Adversely, small mincing steps do not denote grace either. Adapt a self-assured stride. When you walk, walk with a purpose and be aware of your stride.
5.
Step 5
Consider dance classes. Dance classes are great for helping people become more graceful. Individuals with dance training tend to have more coordination, flexibility and grace. It’s never too late to take dance classes. Many community centers or gyms offer dance classes for all ages.
6.
Step 6
Practice makes perfect. When you practice slower more graceful movements, the idea is to incorporate these movements into your daily routine. As with any training, the more you practice or use new techniques, the more likely these changes will become habit.

Goals and procrastination do not work. Hitting the bad traits of procrastination are excuses, laziness, avoidance, blame, stress, anxious, poor attitude, guilt, fear, unorganized, frequent failure
and lack of directions.
The magic key is to invert all the bad traits to find your desire and passion to make you complete the task in joy and ease. Once your emotions are uplifted, the procrastination will disappear and
you will find the limitless energy in you to achieve your goals.#
Write down the list of tasks or goals your need to accomplish. By writing them down, you have send out many signals into your subconscious mind. You have created a contract of intention to achieve your goals. You can plan your priority by having the whole vision of your many goals of the list in front of you.
#
Step 2
Let us move to one task or a small goal first. Choose your goal and close your eyes for a few seconds. Now picture in your mind a series of process leading to your end result. This will help to create desire and faith of achievement. Power up the imagination of yours.
#
Step 3
Before you start your process, take in a couple to deep breath. Deep breath have great benefits.
They are an immediate energy booster plus you find yourself instantly in more relax state.
#
Step 4
Wherever possible, have some relaxing music playing in the background. This will power up your RIGHT brain up and bring your brain waves down to the ALPHA level for you to work faster.
You will be only focusing on the completion of your goals and nothing around you matters.
#
Step 5
When you are relaxed, you are now in the solution focus state and you are gaining the power to take action. You will be able to search into your subconscious mind to find the needed solution to complete your process. All you have to do is to surrender and take actions when needed.

1.
Step 1
Laugh at yourself. Not only does laughing make a person look beautiful, but laughter is contagious and brightens a person's day. When you make someone laugh that is how they will remember you, not as a lumbering ox.
2.
Step 2
When you run into a wall keep going, don’t stop and make a scene. Chances are witnesses will simply smile and forget about it.
3.
Step 3
Take dance, yoga or ballet; anything that will help with balance and coordination.
4.
Step 4
When you drop something remember it isn’t your clumsiness they’re considering, it’s your butt, so stay in shape and take your time standing up!
5.
Step 5
Make up a funny story about how you dropped that cup of water on purpose. If you manage to make a joke of it they will laugh at the joke and not at you.
6.
Step 6
Always appear confident. Remember, confidence is attractive. Grace and beauty are in the eyes of the beholder.
How to Be a Lady
By eHow Culture & Society Editor
Rate: (26 Ratings)
It is likely that every girl hears "act like a lady" from their mother at some point in life. It involves a number of well thought-out mannerisms and actions that might not come naturally. A few simple steps can help anyone be a lady.#
Be polite. While traditional guidelines suggest that women should act as shrinking violets, being a lady does not necessarily mean being submissive. A lady, in all her wisdom, should keep a cool head under pressure and outwit her adversaries with meaningful, well chosen words.
#
Step 2
Maintain a well groomed appearance. While women should not feel that they need to dress up every day, grooming is a sign to the outside world that a woman is ladylike. Instead of throwing on tattered sweats, choose a nicely fitted jogging suit to run errands. Instead of leaving the house with no make-up, try a quick 5-minute face in the morning. Carry your sense of the ladylike throughout your wardrobe.
#
Step 3
Educate yourself. Today's proverbial "lady" should be educated and able to hold up her end of a conversation. By staying on top of world events and keeping your mind active through reading and meaningful television viewing, you can carry on a conversation charged with intellectual heft and interest.
#
Step 4
Be independent. In a drastic shift away from traditional ideas of ladylike, the contemporary woman is considered a lady if she can stand on her own two feet. Women hold down careers, raise children or live the single life dependent upon their choices and preferences. An independent woman is the pinnacle of ladylike.
#
Step 5
Nurture kindness. Perhaps the most recognizable sign of a lady is kindness. Whether a woman is kind to her parents, friends, lovers or the community at large, hardly any other characteristic is as valuable and contagious.
How to act Like a Lady

Acting like a lady is a skill that takes time to learn. Most ladies learn their ladylike behavior from the time they're little girls. However, you can learn to act like a lady later in life too. A few etiquette classes and practice will get you on your way to ladylike behavior.

Instructions
1.
Step 1
Observe other ladies to see how they act. Watch old movies, and actresses like Audrey Hepburn, to get a good feel for how a lady should conduct herself.
2.
Step 2
Enroll in etiquette classes. Many times these are geared for younger girls; however, most etiquette teachers will teach students of any age.
3.
Step 3
Keep your voice down and never yell because it makes you look unattractive and unladylike. Keep your curse words to a minimum and maintain your composure.
4.
Step 4
Learn to walk. Ladies don't walk like they should be wearing overalls, they learn to walk, and even run, in high heels. Also, learn how to sit and exit a car properly so you don't show anything the world shouldn't see.
5.
Step 5
Dress like a lady by not showing too much skin. Dressing ladylike requires you to toss out your micro mini skirts and fishnet stockings and opt for a flowing skirt, silk stockings and pearls.
6.
Step 6
Read up on the latest trends and fashion as well as classic literature and poetry. Being a well-rounded person will help you act like a lady in many situations.
How to Walk Properly and Gracefully in High Heel Shoes
By eHow Fashion, Style & Personal Care Editor
Rate: (1 Ratings)
There's actually a reason that high heels make a woman so attractive. High heels visually lengthen the leg and force the calf muscle to pop out. The higher the heel, the more the buttocks and breasts are pushed out, creating a stunning silhouette. The good news is anyone can look great in high heels. The tricky part is learning to walk properly and gracefully in them.

Instructions
1.
Step 1
Buy the right size shoe and make sure it fits comfortably. This is essential for walking gracefully in any type of shoe but especially if you walk in high heels. If the shoe pinches or hurts, there will be no hiding the pain and your walk will suffer because of the need to compensate for that pain.
2.
Step 2
Begin with lower heels and progress into higher heels at half-inch increments. Although it may not seem like a lot of height, it's stressful on the leg and walking incorrectly in high heels that you're not accustomed to can cause damage.
3.
Step 3
Pull your abdomen in towards the spine, making sure not to arch the back by keeping straight posture. When you walk, look straight ahead and keep your chin level with the floor. Although it may feel like you need to lean forward, concentrate on standing straight; you won't tip over.
4.
Step 4
Lift your foot and point your toe straight ahead rather than to the side, which may be more natural. Place your heel gently on the floor, aiming for the mid-line of your body position.
5.
Step 5
Keep your legs close together, pointing toes forward and placing the foot straight, essentially creating a straight line when walking. The motion should be heel-toe with the weight placed on the ball of the foot. Walk in short strides when wearing high heels.
6.
Step 6
Allow your hips to sway from side to side. This is the natural compensation for being tipped up on your toes. This natural rhythm when you walk is part of the allure of wearing high heels.
How to Have Manners
By eHow Culture & Society Editor
Rate: (1 Ratings)
In today's society, manners seem to be on the way out. Children don't always have the best manners and many adults don't have a clear understanding of manners, either. If you want to be respected, you need to give people a reason to respect you. Developing manners is a good place to start because good manners give people a positive impression.

1.
Step 1
Remember to say "please" and "thank you" for everything. Those two words are the stepping stones of manners.
2.
Step 2
Speak to people respectfully. Keep your tone positive and upbeat, and phrase your words so they do not come off as insulting.
3.
Step 3
Listen to others. It's proper manners to listen to when people are speaking. Let them know with a nod of the head or other body language that you are indeed listening.
4.
Step 4
Shake hands with people you're meeting for the first time or who you're just acquaintances with. This shows you're friendly and respectful.
5.
Step 5
Consider others feelings by being receptive of their thoughts and opinions without forcing your own upon them. Being rude to someone shows you lack manners.
6.
Step 6
Accept others for who they are even if you don't agree with them or their decisions. Accept apologies from people who offer them; it's the polite thing to do.

How to Have Basic Table Manners

The most basic of table manners are the most important. Yeah you should know what fork to use when or the proper side to serve on, but without the basics you've got nothing.
Brush up on your manners and your dining companions will surely appreciate it.

Instructions
1.
Step 1
*NAPKIN GOES ON YOUR LAP* First thing when you sit down at the table put your napkin on your lap. That's just incase you drop food (hopefully you don't) that it doesn't end up on your clothes.
*Unless your five please do not tuck your napkin in the collar of your shirt, thanks*
2.
Step 2
*ELBOWS OFF THE TABLE* While your eating your elbows should not be on the table. Elbows take up space and knock things over, so keep them off.
3.
Step 3
*CLOSE YOUR MOUTH WHEN IT'S FULL* Chew with your mouth closed & no talking with a mouth full of food. NO ONE wants to see the food in your mouth it's just gross. Speaking with a mouthful of food will pretty much guarantee that your spitting your food too. Just like chewing with your mouth open will guarantee that your making that yucky, smacking noise. Please close your mouth if there is something in it.
4.
Step 4
*DON'T USE YOUR FINGERS* Unless your eating finger food, your fingers should not touch your food. Do not push that last little bit of rice on to your fork with your fingers, your knife will work just as well.
5.
Step 5
*USE THE NAPKIN IN YOUR LAP* Do not, I repeat, do not lick your fingers, or wipe them on your clothes. Use the napkin, thats what it's for.
6.
Step 6
*SIT UP STRAIGHT* Don't slouch down closer to your plate. You're dining not hovering over a trough. Sit up straight and bring the food to your mouth, not your mouth to your plate. Leaning slightly in so your eating over your plate is encouraged, but your face should never be next to your plate

I play tennis and squash once a week, so both of these keep my legs in an okay shape, and they make my arms stronger, but not so toned.
If I lift weights once a day for a certain amount of time, would this lose some fat on my arms and keep them toned?
If so, how long should I do it for, and I have 1kg weights and I think something between 3 and 5kgs, which one should I use?
Thanks :)

I take Vyvanse for ADD and it works pretty well. It does give me side effects. I definitely get mood swings from it, which i guess is normal on that kind of drug. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? What about dry scalp and skin? I've been having that and since its not one of the main side effects, it's harder to find info on it, but i did find a bit. Also, my toe will go completely numb for no reason. I wont be sitting on it, im not cold and it goes completely numb. I tried warmning it up and stuff like that, but it wasnt cold, so i really just had to wait it out. It was like an hour and 45 minutes. Can any of that be related to Vyvanse?
Thanks

I'm a first time mom and I feel so lost. I have no idea if and when my baby is hungry. :( and I feel like such a terrible mother.
My baby is 7 weeks old, and he will breastfeed for around 10 minutes. and then come off and latch back on. but once he latches back on he just cries and cries. so i feel like maybe hes still hungry but hes just not getting enough from me. If i give him his pacifier though he happily sucks it. but then i feel guilty thinking well maybe hes sucking it because hes hungry.
I just would like a straightforward answer as to how to know when my baby is hungry and how to know when hes full and just crying for the sake of crying.
because now whats happening is he'll cry and i'll check his diaper..and its fine. and then try to feed him and he will latch on.. i dont have to coax him. but once hes latched on he starts to scream.
PLEASE please please someone help me!
try using a nipple that you use on a bottle put it on your breast i dod this to my daughter when she was a baby t worked and it helps not so much pain ether when they suck my doctor told me to do this baby should be feeed every 2 hours at that age to or to every 3 hours and look for a hart on line as your baby get older to see what bottle time is they have then on line hope this helps if it dosnt ask your doctor.
So I'm 15, and pregnant. My mom says I can't keep the baby. She wants me to get an abortion, and at the most an adoption. But I couldn't bring myself to do either. She doesn't want me to keep it! What can I do?
I know it will be hard, and I don't have a job, but before it is born I will be old enough to get a job, and so will my very supporting boyfriend. It's tough, but I have supporting friends, a supporting family, and a supporting boyfriend. But she doesn't want me to have it :( what can I do? What can I tell her?
by law your mother cant tell you to get abortion because its your body. no one can make you i had to do this years a go when i was younge they ask you that they say that up to you because it your body and abortions can hurt your body i felt the pain people can die from it but i didnt i cryed i lost somthing i wanted my boyfriend made me but he threated me but i have advice for you you are young giving it to a family might be the right thing get a open adoption you get to see the chils still no one can get in your way you get to pick the family some family let you stay with then and they pay for you for your own place and ect so no one will bother you thier are lots of adoption agencys on the net like christian adoption.com my friend did this her family was mean so she lived with the family till she had the baby they payed for every thing a baby s alot it cost alot babys arnt cheap you should wait till your married have your own house at least im being nice my mother was mea to me also when i was some times you just some times people could be nice in way if you need any more advice email me chrissibug@YAHOO.COM OR MY CHAT NAME ON YAHOO CHRISSIBUG OK happy mother day to you rember dont let any one walk all over you.
Wasn't to sure what folder to put this in, so I hope this is the right one!!
Since I was about 14 I've wanted to have a baby so much, and to make it worse 8 of My close friends have recently had babies (It isn't one of them "well If My friends have one I want one" moments) none of which where planned.
However Me and my Boyfriend both want a child, sooner rather than later we have spoke about where we would live, about income and how we would support our child.
In all honesty I know I'm ready to be a Mum.
I am currently going into My last year at collage where I am studying 4 academic subjects and planning to go to university in the future.
I know people will say wait till I am older and have more to offer My child but I want someone to give Me honest oppinons and let Me know about maybe any experiences they have had.
The Last part of My problem is if I was to ave a child, I know My family would not be best please, they would support Me, but I know that I would have let them down!!
Whenever I see somebody else with a beautiful baby girl or boy, I can just imagine myself in that position giving a baby un conditional love and anything which they need.
Please give Me your honest advice as I would very much appreciate it.
!Thanks!

I know this sounds random but I have been thinking about sleeping with My boyfriend and he would be My first.
The thing is he has told Me he is also a virgin, but for some reason I can't quite believe him, I trust him about everything else but I just can't get My head around that he is a virgin, because he isn't the type of boy who appears to be and his mates are always going on about who they have recently slept with.
I really don't know what to believe.
Secondly if I was to sleep with him and he was a virgin, would he know what he was doing because I personally don't have a clue, I'm shy and easily embarrassed. I've been in a relationship with him for a while but still don't feel I know him that well.

well friends to be come lovers some times if she out of the picture take it slow with him go on some date then see how it gos
i have this friend, N. shes on medication for depression and goes to see a theropist once every week or something. her mom is an alcoholic, and that being said, N drinks and smokes pot mostly because her mom wouldnt like it. her mom also emotionally abuses her and yells at her all the time, and their level of communication is -10. N sometimes gets on my nerves, for instance: she'll call herself a junkie because she took a sleeping pill and liked the effect. she'll call herself a stoner because she'd smoke a little weed every night for a week and get kind of high, and actually thinks shes addicted to it. and she'll call herself a slut just because she made out with someone she wasnt dating. she tries to be all these things that shes not, just to get on her moms nerves, or just to go against her wishes.
and usually when she does this, im very cold to her and give her short replies to her questions and stay mad at her for a while.
well, tonight, i guess it all broke loose. she took 5 shots earlier before going to church to see her best friend, S. S and N have been best friends for a long time, and they both come from disfunctional families and get along great and always have fun together. N's mom doesnt like S because she thinks shes a bad influence on her daughter, and therefore wont N see her. N has been upset about this for a long time, and her relationship with S has gone down the drain because of it. they still talk, but they arent best friends anymore. N had a fight with her mom earlier and texted me about it and i was still mad at her from something stupid she said earlier, so i wasnt there for her when things were going bad. next thing i know, N is texting me, telling me "goodbye" and saying she loves me and that shes sorry for everything. we had just started texting, so i was confused as to why she wanted to say bye...
i called her up and she was bawling her eyes out and was about to kill herself. i offered to ask my parents to come and get her, but she said it'd just make things worse with her mom. i didnt know what else to do! i couldnt give her any advice, and my mind just went blank. all i could tell her was to not do anything she'd regret, and that i love her. i made her promise she wouldnt OD on anything, and we hung up. ive been kicking myself in the ass for this for hours. i dont know what else to do.
what can i say to make her feel better? all her friendships have gone to hell because of her mom and her mom is ruining her life and i dont know what to do or say to make her feel better. i just feel like a bad friend because friends are supposed to help eachother, but i cant help her! what do i do?!?!?
*sorry this is so long, but it was a long story..
your being a friend but she in a bad invirement well her mom does sound abusive its not your friends falt that she like that her mom abusing her so she taking it out on drugs and its not good for her to see her mom doing bad things ether my mother pop pills she didnt get any were in life all she would do is lay on the couch ontil she needed more drugs. what you can do it get in touch with family sevices and tell them if you dont wnt your friend to have a bad life and she goingto ingore you. you gotta do it your self if you dont do somthing now it will efect her life her career her friendship everthing. tell her look around do you want to graduated do you want to have a good life you dont have to live your live this way in trash you can change tell her this wil work but if it dosnt have you mom and you go to social services your mom can adopt your friend because social servie will not let her life be this way you got to make it better some times it takes a friend.its for her own good my life wsnt that great ether my sister and my mom did drugs i got out of my family life I dont talk to them I moved becuse i dont want to do that my mother died a 2 years ago from over doesing on drugs i had a daughter at 20 so i gav her to a family you ca change your life all it take is one person get up and do it ok.
16/f, junior in high school
I'm a member of my school's debate team. We're really, really good and the team has gotten really far and has even won the state championships. Only three members can actually debate at the competitions. Everyone else has to spectate. So, I was a debator last year and did pretty well. This year is my junior year and I just lost focus with it. I had other extacurricular activities to tend to, such as all-state percussion auditions and other musical activities, and I have a lot of schoolwork this year. I only got to argue at one debate this year. Then, my coach replaced me with someone else. Now, I'm not at all complaining about this. I really didn't do so well and he could tell I was really busy with other things and I understand completely. The problem is, now I'm really, really depressed about it. Being a prominent member of this team was my dream since freshman year. The team keeps winning and winning and moving on and they might even be going to states! It absolutely KILLS me to see my friends up there while I'm watching and having the joy and honor of being winners, and having their names announced on the morning announcements, and getting to compete! It's like a crushed dream and I'm extremely jealous. I try so hard to console my self with "look on the bright side" statements such as "I'll do better next year" and "I'm good at other things too" (which I am) but it doesn't work. Not only do I feel like a failure now but I've never been more jealous in my life!! It absolutely kills me now to ever hear ANYTHING about debate team. And it's so selfish, but every time I hear they won, I feel like I'm about to cry or like someone just slapped me in the face. Does anyone have anything they can say to me to make me feel better? Any similar life experiences? I'll appreciate any advice but if you tell me to be happy about the other things I'm good at or that I'll do better next year, it won't work,I try it all the time. I'm a very competitive and jealous person by nature and it kills me to see my peers doing better at something than I do. This is the case with anything, not just debate. But the main issue right now is debate. If you could just give me anything, it would be great. And is there a way I can break this horrible habit of being so jealous ALL THE TIME? thank you so so much and sorry so long.

I always hear that you make a ton of money working at Hooters. Is that true? And what is it based on? Is Hooters generally busy and that's why girls make good money? Do guys typically tip higher at Hooters? I'm wondering, because right now I'm a waitress at a Coney Island restaurant (cheap restaurants in MI) and I hardly make any money when I work, because business is really slow, and it's a cheap place, so the tips you get aren't great. Ok, now obviously the economy is bad everywhere, but would I have a better chance at Hooters, none the less?
Or, if you don't know why, but have ANY experience at Hooters at all, let me know what it was like.
Thanks.
