Q: I have to decide which person to hire for my company. One person has a lot of experience. The other has some experience. Obviously I should hire the first person. But the second person is struggling financially and has been for years. I don't know if it's up to me to end his struggling by hiring him or what. Who should I hire?

As an employer you should be amoral. It is not up to you to help someone who is struggling, it is up to you to ensure you are doing what is best for the company. Therefore, the first is the best selection.

Q: Is there any program that takes the vocals out of songs? I'm trying to make a cd of karaoke songs (and don't tell me to just go out and buy one because I won't EVER find the songs I want on a karaoke cd). If there is a program, is there a place I can download it?

There really isn't an easy and effective way to do it by yourself. By adjusting the levels of the music to neutralize it you're going to greatly affect the sound of the song. The professional way it is done (without re-recording) is finding the frequency at which the vocals were recorded and eliminating that- needless to say, it is not easy, nor is it something that can really be done at home. However, if you can adjust the levels to minimalize the vocals, you may be able to use it just as well as a karaoke track by singing out over it.

Q: Okay...so people always talk about mixed signals and all that...
How do you send them on purpose??
Don't tell me not to, just tell me how to do it. I've always been really straightforward and I wanna play a little game with someone...I have to know how to send mixed signals.

If you really want this person, don't do this it.

But mixed signals?

Ask about their game/play all week and tell him you'll make it and then don't show up and forget to ask them about it entirely.

Be really chatty in person and tell him to call you. Then, when he does, be completely silent except for, "yeah?" "No way!" "You're kidding". Under no circumstances should you describe anything relevant to life or interesting.

Make eye contact and smile at him during class, but make sure when you see him in the halls you keep conversation to a minimum and claim to have to get to class quickly.

Invite him, along with many other people, over to you house and talk to everyone else but him. Then serve him punch and pie.

Q: I am on the school newspaper, but i have no idea what to write about, does anyone have any good ideas or top stories they think would be good?

Yep, school newspaper stories are tough. Especially for sports pages.

Nonetheless, for features, cover the janitors, the custodians, the cafeteria workers; the people who make the school function on a daily basis.

For news? Find out when the theatre company is going to Districts and who will be competing. Did ROTC do well at States?

Opinion- never write a story about dress code. Ever. No one cares. Ask what gets students really pissed off about the school and write about it. Of course, interview the administration and present the flip-side, as well.

Q: Hello.
So im 14/f, and in the 9th grade.
So I have this boyfriend right, his name is Joey.
Then there's these 2 other guys, Ian and Tim that I like, a lot.

Well, Joey is like in LOVE with me, and it's pretty annoying at times.
Well Ian is just, I don't know, theres something about him that I absoutly love, and want and hes sooo hot..
And with Tim, hes just so funny, hes not that cute though.

Well I know with relationships, personality matters the most, but looks are a huge plus.
Now to the real problem...

I really like Ian, and i've been talking to him on the side. And like Joey hates Ian, and I have no idea what to do... Me and Joey argue all the time. And I have no idea what to do, so please help, if you were in my position who would you go out with ???

Hell, you're young right? Dump Joey and go for Ian.

I wouldn't do it with reckless abandon. Find a way to let Joey know that things aren't quite the way they should be, and you want to try and fix it. Then, if it doesn't get fixed, there's no point in dealing with something that doesn't work.

Q: Since UN day is coming up soon, or International Day, at least at my school, I've been asked to make a slide show about poverty. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what song I could play while the slide show is rolling? I am obviously not looking for suggestions like 'PROMISCUOUZ GIRL!', ok?

Also, if anyone has any ideas on interesting things/figures/facts I could include. I'm going to go for defining poverty, where it exists most, what changes/plans are being made to prevent it and why people should care. If you guys have any additional suggestions, it would be muchly appreciated.

The first song that comes to mind is "Imagine", by John Lennon. However, it almost comes to mind too easily, you know? Think about, "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkel; "A Change Gonna Come" by Sam Cooke; "For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield; and maybe "A Day in the Life" by the Beatles (I wouldn't suggest the bridge part for this one. It's too upbeat, no?)

Q: when you're at a dance, how do you get guys to come up and dance with you?

In most situations I actually see the girl initiate it. I'm sure a feminist would claim that it is a horrendous double standard, indicative of the moral decline of western society, but most guy's tend to be goofy on a dance floor, unless given a reason to be otherwise.

Q: Things were going GREAT with Nick until Friday afternoon. Earlier that day, he said I could sit by him at lunch since my friends weren't going to be there. I didn't actually end up sitting by him because my friends came back and forced me to be by them. But anyways, then I sat by him at the pep ralley and he said "What happened at lunch? I saved you a seat". I explained to him the story and apologized and then we just joked and laughed the whole time. I really like Nick because of his personality. Everything he says or does makes me smile or laugh. BUT after school, everything changed. Nick's friend, Will, knew that I liked Nick so he asked Nick if he'd want to go to homecoming with me. That made me really mad because I wanted Nick to ask ME. And if I was going to be the person who asked, I wanted to do it myself and not have somebody else do it for me. Well long story short, Nick said no. I have no idea why. Maybe it was because he couldn't make it or maybe it's because he doesn't like me. I really want to know! If I don't have a chance with him, I'd rather him tell me that so I can move on. It's just confusing because all of the signs point to him liking me. He flirts with me all the time! I'm not upset that he said no to me, but I'm upset because now everything is different. He completley avoided me after that and didn't talk to me like he normally would've. I just want things to go back to how they used to be =( Even if that means we are only friends! What should I do?

It is entirely possible that he does not want to go to Homecoming as a first date. Which is logical; it's a dance, and it's a much different situation than a one-on-one lunch or another typical first date would be.

Talk to him. Ask him if he'd like to do something another time. And if he brings up the homecoming thing, mention that you didn't ask Will to ask and you want his car to explode while he's driving it. Or something roughly equivalent.

If she's used a dildo she has broken her hymen, so in the most literal sense possible she is not a virgin. However, if she hasn't actually had sex with another person she's a virgin. Only a complete jackass would argue against that.

Q: ok..so i really wanna be a fashion designer...my back up plan is being a lawyer. but fashion design is my number one. The only problem is I heard fashion design is super hard to get into((and i wanna do like a big job like Gucci etc,))
So is it hard?..or should i just become a lawyer. I dont wanna own my own shop or anything i want to do the fashion shows and stuff. Some advice would be nice =) I need to know now because i need to know what courses i should take during my highschool career.

There are schools for fashion design, too.... and here's a tip- Law is probably just as competitive as fashion design.

About what courses to take in high school? Take what you want. Keep your grades up, pass some AP exams and you'll be open to so many more oppourtunities when it comes to college. That is where you build your future.

Q: This may be an weird question but since I can't sing very well I was wondering if when a person is good at singing is it because they are just born that way and can sing to anything or whether you can only sing to songs your voice is suited to. I wanna be able to sing so badly but I'm not that crash hot so I was just wondering if there is any hope for me?! 16/f

Your voice is a musical instrument, and like all other instruments, some people are prodigies. However, even if you are born without any sort of ability, it can be learned to a certain extent. It's tricky.

Q: Okay, so, I have mild acne [i just asked a different question], but now i'm wondering, what really causes it all?
don't say genetics, because my ansestors would have to get it from something as well.

Acne is caused by bacteria infecting the oil that is present on the face, which often gets plugged into pores. When this occurs, the skin forms a zit to trap the bacteria in and kill it.

On a personal reccomendation, I would not suggest Pro-active. It turned my mild acne into a beard zits. I can suggest a strong facial cleanser that exfoliates, as well as prescribed gels such as differen and clindagel.

If cleansers and gels do not work, you might consider asking a dermatologist about Accutane. I can certainly endorse it; I took it for 6 month period 3 years ago and have not broken out since. However, I only reccomend checking into it if nothing else works.

Q: One of my bestfriends Asked the guy that i liked out. Well i was really upset about it and she told me to stop acting like a child. She knows that i really like him and have for the past month.

He ended up telling her that he wont go out with her. But shes not the type of girl to give up when she likes someone. She will pester him till the end. And i dont want to hear her talking about him constantly. And i really dont want her liking him i know sounds rude but she gets a boyfriend and wont talk to him for like 2 weeks and then decided well i dont like him anymore.

Sit her down and talk to her. Tell her you felt betrayed when she went behind you back and asked him out; that she should have let you know, at least. If you had already asked him out and been unfortunately declined, than there wouldn't be a reason to deny her the right... however, she, being a best friend, should have told you, should have let you know.

If she can't sit down and talk candidly with you about these sort of things, which you should, than perhaps the friendship isn't as strong as believed.

Q: okay so i have a question about the tv show power rangers.

i stopped watching it when jason david frank (tommy) left the show. So does anyone know what happened to Zordon? and why he isnt in it anymore? i was just wondering.

Zordon died when the rangers finally defeated Rita and that other guy. His power was apparently linked to theirs, or some such thing. He turned out to be a very old, very bald man who was suspended in his large glass thing. His passing was quite emotional.

Q: My school's homecoming is in six days, & I just realized that I can't dance. Ideas?

This doesn't matter. Slow dancing is essentially holding someone in you arms and rocking to the beat of the music. Otherwise, make up ridiculous things or find someone to dance with. if you do dance with someone, it's basically holding or being held by the hips and rocking to the beat of the music. It's a good time. Don't get angry when they play a rock song or two; this tends to make you a horrible person.

Q: I just broke up with my boyfriend the other night( a day before our 6 months). The only reason I did it was becasue he caught me at a really bad time and said something that made me mad. I told him if he cant give me the answers I need then its over. I regret it big time. He then called me later that night and we talked about it. He said that he'll always be here for me when I need him and we will still talk. He also said that we should just take a break and thats what right now is. Another thing he said is that he has never loved/liked anyone the way or as much as he loved me. What does all this mean? Does it mean that there is a chance I will be getting back with him?

It sounds like he still cares deeply about out. If her was willing to talk later that night, he'd be willing to talk about getting back together for sure. He might be hesitant at first, but this is somewhat expected. Show him that you still care for him as much as he does for you and things should work out, based on what you have said. Es Verdad!

okay well i like this guy and i sit naxt to him. i am too shy to talk to him and so i talk to these two other guys that sit by me. i can see him looking at me at times and i will ask my friends if i have something on my face but the say that i have nothing. when ever we talk we have little conversations and its stupid.he ends up talking to me about BOOGERS. i end up laughing trying to make him feel better. how can i get the courage to talk to him.and why do we end up talking about boogers.

Well, start talking to him instead of the guys around you. It doesn't actually do any good, since it doesn't seem to be evoking any sort of response from him. Chat with him about the subject of the class you're in for a little, and ask him some things about himself that don't involve bodily fluids and such.

Last night (Friday), I went to my crushes house. I was there with 5 other guys, and 1 other girl (who left early). Anyways, my crush made it totally obvious that he liked me. The thing is, even though he is really funny, every one is always saying how annoying he is. I've also never had a boyfriend, and I guess you could say I'm pretty, just not hott.

Anyways, I am basically almost positive he likes me, but I don't know its just pretty awkward, and I really dont know what to do.

The other thing is, my group of friends have never really dated either, and its because they don't really hang out with guys. So when I told them I was going to his house with 5 other guys, they were like acting really wierd.
I'm kind of sick of these friends, and I sort of want to hang around with a new crowd (not such a prude-ish crowd)

Consider murdering your friends. One time a french guy got his limbs ripped off by horses and was placed on a grill. Contrary to popular belief, this is a righteous way to deal with problems. Just ask a Catholic.
