i've been absent from school 7 1/2 days this year. ive been sick a lot and there are lots of bugs going around.plus i broke my elbow earlier. well i was absent today and the vice principal called. he said i had to go school or they'd get the county involved. he said that the max number of days you can be absent in a year is 10, but the rules state 20. it also says you cant miss more than 5. well the first grading period i was absent 5 days, so that isnt breaking any rules. should i be in trouble for this because he is clearly lying? i dont see how im breaking any of the written rules. ive heard of no such change in them either so it isnt like i missed it. what do i do?
If I were you,I would first get a statement from your doctor saying that you have been sick and you have been under their care.Make sure the doctor goes details reguarding your illnesses.By having a doctors' excuse,you have proof that you have been sick,and that you cannot return until such-and such date. Then I would take your copy of the rules or rulebook,and highlight the part where you say it clearly states the rules are 20 days.Then,you,and your parents should take that rulebook,and schedule a meeting with the vice principal or the necessary authority figure(maybe it's the superintendant)to discuss this situation.I've TOTALLY been there and done that.I got the truent officer at my door,the threatning letters,the threats to send my parents to jail,threatening not to allow me to graduate,blah blah blah! I was sick a lot because I have a weak immune system,but the school still put my family and I thru hell....until they got notes from my doctor explaining how sick I was and that I was unable to attend school on the dates that I missed.I wouldn't worry yourself too much right now,stress will only make being sick worse!Keep me posted!! :)

Hey-i was reading through your column and i really liked the advice you were giving so i was wondering if you could help me out with a situation i have:
alrite so beginning of this year (i was still a junior in high school) i met a guy (a senior in high school who's now a freshman in college) through my best friend's boyfriend and one nite after all 4 of us hanging out i ended up hooking up with him. When it started out, neither of us was looking for a relationship, i was just looking to gain experience so i figured it was a great idea. Long story short-i went pretty far with him and got attached-towards the end of the school year we found out we both really liked each other, we went to prom together and were hooking up monogamously for about 4 months but he never asked me out-finally middle of summer he said he didn't wanna lead me on but he really didn't want a gf when he was gonna be leaving for college in a month-i told him i understood but naturally i was heartbroken. So i didn't see him the rest of the summer, i've just heard stories about him hooking up with other girls which killed me...literally but i finally finally got over him (its been a long long road). Anyways he's back for thanksgiving break and i haven't gotten play in awhile-so this friday we are getting together-im really worried cuz when i see him i don't know if i will have the strength to turn down hooking up with him, but i definitely know i don't have the strength to get over him again-at the same time....i desperately need play LOL. What do u think i should do?!?!

Well,I know how that feels.You go into it thinking you won't catch feelings but you do.I would look at it like this:what's more important to you? Physical gratification,or having to deal with the emotional mess after he's gone home? I know how it is when you find that one guy that you just can't seem to say no to,no matter how much your gut is telling you "say no...say no...SAY NO!!"Haha! I think if you really have that strong of feelings for him,or at least enough that the possibility of falling for him all over again is still there,you shouldn't risk your own emotional health and happiness.If you feel that you're strong enough to handle the fact that he will have to just leave after this,and you feel that you're mentally in the right place to deal with it,then be safe and go for it!Haha! ;) But I think you should think of your emotional well-being first,and base any other decisions on that! there is a guy that i have known for almost 6 years. I love him to death. Litterally. I cant stand it when I'm not around him. But the thing is. He thinks I cheated on him the last time we went out by sitting on my ex bfs lap. and he thinks that I kissed him because thats what he was told by my evil brother and parents. Wow! Certainly sounds like love to me!! But I think you have your answer right there in your own question. You see the way you expressed your feelings for him so perfectly,and so clearly? That's what he needs to hear.Sit down,and write him a letter,and I think some of the things you said in your question should be in that letter. Let him know that with the way you feel about him,it basically isn't in you to ever lie to him,no matter what anyone else says. Be as expressive and heartfelt as you were in your question,and if this guy is still feelin you,which it sounds like he is,he should be ready to talk things thru. ;)

Okay well i recently went out with this guy that i really liked and he dumped me and we have been fighting for a while so yeah we have saying these horrible things to eachother. Well,first of all,you made the right decision not to fight this chick. That would just be sinking to her level. I mean,look at her,she can't even fight you BY HERSELF! She has to bring her little friends with her! Sounds to me like this girl is probably a big drama queen who is trying to scare you and get you to "back down". But this guy certainly doesn't sound worth it.Notice while this girl is trying to fight you,he's nowhere around? Yea. what is the meaning of court summon and does one necessary need to attend?
A court summons is a piece of paper that someone will recieve when their presence is requested in court over a case. A person can recieve one if they have been listed as a witness for the defense or the prosecution in a case. It also differs between civil(or small claims) courts and criminal courts. In most states,the law requires you to obey the summons and show up in court UNLESS you have a very good excuse for not being able to make it,such as a note from a doctor stating you have a condition preventing you from appearing ,or you have a family illness or death that you must deal with. Things like that. Otherwise,failure to appear will result in your arrest and POSSIBLE charges. So,it's a good idea to go! ;)

I am in the RE industry and helped him get 100% financing, so he had no orginal outlay. Since inception in 3/2000 we have shared ALL expenses 50/50. (MTG, Taxes, INS, Improvements, etc.) Because we do not plan to get married I want to CYA. But I do not want to put my name on title b/c I am looking to buy another inv. property and want to claim homestead exemption and get Owner Occ financing. What should I do to CYA? IE. Have him sign warranty deed giving me title rights but not record it?

I used to have my hair cut like that!! Look for some fansites that have good pictures of the singer Robyn.I took in her picture when I got my hair cut and it turned out great!!!! Meg Ryan & Lisa Kudrow have also had some great choppy layered bobs!! As for colors...I really like Avril Lavigne's new look with the dark hair underneath.I don't know if you wanna go that drastic but I think it'd look really cute!!Maybe get your hair lightened to a lighter blonde and then get some medium brown streaks run thru it!!! First off,man I wish I could afford a Chi! Hahaha! Ok,back to your question.Personally I LOVE John Frieda's Frizz Ease Hair Serum.They key to that is to use RIGHT after you get out of the shower!Just kinda blot your hair with a towel to ring out any excess water and apply the serum to wet hair.Also,never rub back and forth on your hair with a towel to dry it,that makes it more frizz prone,so when you're towel drying your hair,rub downward with the towel.Try a good Heat Protector Spray before you blow dry and straighten your hair.Pantene makes a really good one.That will protect you hair from the humidity and it acts as a sort of shield for your hair so it doesn't get fried from all the heat.I have naturally curly/wavy hair too so I feel ya.I hope some of this helps you!! Well,the #1 is missing or skipping any periods.That's a RED FLAG that something's up! Other things to look out for are swelling and tenderness in your breasts,nausea sometimes with vomitting,early on in pregnancy you may feel unusually tired and have some bloating in your abdomen.You definitely want to get a home pregnancy test if any of these things are occuring.If you're more than a week late on your period,and you normally are regular,you should head to your doctor or to a local clinic like Planned Parenthood(www.plannedparenthood.com for locations) and get tested.Let me know how it goes!!!! :)

I've been helping my dad with his banking. He passed away....I'm now his personal rep. We had a cash fund for him to use, when he went out to eat.
but I have no receipts...........will there be trouble, ( IRS) because there isn't any proof that the money not deposited in the bank ( cash fund) was used for him ???

So long as it isn't an extremely sizeable amount(as in the thousands over a period of time),it wouldn't even be taxable.It's not income,or anything like that,so there should be no reason to even report the money.I would reccommend speaking with the lawyer who is handling your father's estate or will.He should be able to tell you all the specifics.But I don't see where it should even enter into anything!!

Well,hunnie it sounds to me like you've got depression. It may not even be that,it may just be a bad case of the blues,but what leads me to thinking it's more of depression is the cutting thing.But please don't worry I'm not here to judge you!! I'm not ashamed to admit that I myself had a bad case of depression right around that same time,age 14. It's not uncommon at all. I think that it's pretty hard to adjust to high school from junior high.It's a whole new pace,and you may be meeting a bunch of new people,as well as meeting new teachers,being in a new building,etc.You're really adjusting to a whole new schedule and school life.First things first-cutting yourself is NEVER the answer!! Okay here is the situation. A girl that I work with (age 36) has 3 kids (ages 18, 16 and 11) anyway about four years ago she left her husband after meeting this 18 year old guy. He had just moved to town with his Mom and they were staying at the hotel that we work at. Well, he was a pretty big flirt and he and his Mom stayed there for like 6 weeks while their house got ready to move in. After they moved in he would come and visit a lot. So, she leaves her husband and they start hanging out a lot and then he tells her that he really likes her and they start dating. So, he just tells his Mom that he feels sorry for her and that they are just friends and he is helping her through this divorce. His Mom doesn't think anything more about it because of the age difference cuz she isn't that much older than my friend. But her parents find out because her and the kids are living with them and he is over all the time and she tells them so they flip out and tell him he isn't welcome there anymore. So, she gets all depressed and her Mom has her put in a hospital and he goes and talks to his Mom and she says that she can stay in their spare room until she can find a place. So my friend takes her kids back to their Dad and moves in with them. The guy's Mom finds out that they are seeing each other and she is not happy at all about it. So, they move out and she still doesn't go and get her kids. So the guys Mom realizes that if she wants a relationship with her son she needs to accept his choices and she tells him that she is sorry and envites them all to her house for Christmas (including my friend's kids). I mean you can tell that she is just being nice for her son but still she is very nice about it. She bought my friend and her kids presents and everything and made them feel welcome. Here is the porblem though. The guys Mom got transferred from her job and they took the kids back to live with them a few months after she left the state for her new job. They told her that they would go with her and that was why she took the job and then the day that the moving truck got there to pack up her things they told her that they weren't going because of my friend's kids. She knew she couldn't stop them and although disappointed she went ahead and moved. So right after she moved my friend quit her job and the guy started supporting her and her three kids. Her oldest got pregnant and he had to support her kid as well. It got to be too much for him and they didn't have money for food or rent or nothing and the kids Dad refused to help out. So, he called his Mom and in the course of about a year and a half borrowed about 25,000 dollars from her. Finally she told them that she couldn't support two households and that my friend either needed to get a job or they needed to move where she was so that they could live there until they could get on their feet. So they moved there. Left two of the kids there and moved in with her. So now she calls me the other day and says that they are moving back. I figured that his Mom finally got enough and told her to get a job. Well, in a way it happened like that but she was really nice about it and told her that he was too young for so much responsibility and that families the size of theirs needed two incomes. She got him a really good paying job and he was sending money to support her other two kids while they were living with his Mom and paying nothing. So they decided that they would move back because they thought that she wanted them out. So my friend calls me up and she is all mad at her mother-in-law for getting in their business and I was all, "I don't blame her. I mean you have borrowed a lot of mney from her and she paid sfor you guys to move out there and paid for everything in the year you have been there and he has been working to support your kids and you don't even get a job." So now she is all mad at me because I don't see her side of it. Am I missing something here? I mean she is a lot older than him and he is still pretty young and he is taking on a lot of responsibility and doing the best he can. His Mom has been pretty great about everything and it is like she doesn't care how hard she works as long as she doesn't have to. Was I wrong telling her how I feel or should I have just left it alone? I feel bad for his Mom personally here she is trying to help her kid and my friend is trying to turn him against her. What do you think? She is coming home next week and I don't know what to say. I have to pick them up fromt he airport and I don't want to fight for two hours in the car on the way. Thanks in advance.

She definitely,no offense to you,sounds like a huge mooch!To leave a stable marriage and take up with a boy who is barely older than her oldest child,not to mention barely LEGAL,is a pretty irresponsible thing to do.She's really taking advantage of a good thing,and biting the hand that feeds her ya know? I would suggest to her that you go with her and help her to look for a job.No matter what the job is,any money is better than none at all.Remind her that she needs to be able to take care of her own,be independant.Relying on others for the rest of your life is never a good idea,and it very rarely works out or ends nicely.If she truly loves this kid and her kids,she'll get out there and do whatever it takes.Let her know you understand it's tough but that she's going to wind up losing everything if she doesn't do something now!!I hope this helps you out a little bit,that's a tough situation and you certainly weren't wrong for telling her that.That's what she needs,someone to be bluntly honest with her about her behavior so she can see it for herself!I hope things get better!!!!Keep me posted! :)

hey well im kinda having a problem..well one of my BEST FRIENDS is having a huge problem..shes starting to take pills to make her depression go away and shes starting on mj, booze, etc..and she would NEVER do this stuff..she told me that her dad abuses her and her dad doesnt let her eat until she finishs cleaning the house..and she has 7 brothers and sisters in the house so ITS NEVER CLEAN!!! everyday she comes crying to me..and shes the strongest person i have ever met in my life becuz her past was really bad..she was raped and mollested by her own mother..and her mom is living in arizona and she lives with her dad and his gf here in california. and he says that hes gonna send her back to arizona with her mom..and she says that shes gonna commit suicide becuz she has no point in living..and it sucks. PLEASE..PLEASE help me i really dont kno whut to do and please do not say "talk to her about it" or "tell an adult" becuz it wont work!!!! Well,I'm going to assume you have medium to long hair.Side parts and side swept bangs are really in right now!Take Jennifer Aniston for example,or Scarlett Johanson.You can also keep a good center part and sweep your bangs off to one side.Alternate sides on days for a little variety!Side-swept bangs also look really cute with a kinda high,"perky" little ponytail like Cameron Diaz!! I think it's like when you hold or "hover" your mouse arrow over a link,it will either A)Change colors from the way it was before you put the cursor over it.Or B)If you hold the cursor(arrow)over the link,it will bring up the URL(the http://www. stuff)in a little box,showing you where that link will take you if you click on it!!
