My fiancee and I started having sex a few months ago, sometimes with a condom. (yeah I know i am asking for it when you don't use protection..) Well, In November I had my period for not even a day, it started in the morning and ended by afternoon. In December it lasted 1 day, seemed to stop and then I had 1 more day and then completely stopped. I am still waiting on my period for this month. My question is, could I possibly be pregnant? I've read that you could have light bleeding for the first 3 months (My mother did with my sister). I will probably take a pregnancy test this weekend. I am due for my period Thursday.
and for the record, if by any chance I am pregnant, its not a bad thing. I'm not worried or anything like that, I would LOVE a baby despite my age (19, engaged to be married in a year).. I was just wondering if an abnormal period could be a sign of pregnancy. Thanks!
oh, and since I started my period when i was 13 I have had a pretty regular period, lasting 5 days every time, so its kinda unusual at 19 for it to change. (link)

Yes, you could be pregnant. Some women have spotting at first. If your test is positive, congratulations!
Other symptoms you might have are tender breasts, nausea, and fatigue.

I have 3 pregnant friends and they are all keeping them two of them are 14 and the other is 15. the 14 year olds are good about it and I hope everything turns out great for them.
Yesterday I was with my 15 year old friend whos pregnant and we went to illegals and the guys we were with had some alcohol.
She started to drink some and by the way shes a month and a half pregnant.
I yelled at her and pretty much she pissed me off like I wanted to slap her at the time.
like how could she do that to her kid and everything she said shes keeping it but she does drugs and she drinks alcohol like every night.
So she agreed to not doing anything but earlier she was drunk again and our other friend which she was with called me to go get her because she was like really messed up and she almost got raped and some really bad stuff.
I just really don't know what to do about her because I really want to help and I'm so worried about her I don't want this to go on anymore.
Any ideas? (link)

I agree you have to tell someone. Either a counselor, the school nurse, or Child Protective Services. There is no established safe amount of alcohol a pregnant woman can drink. She should not be doing any drugs.
If she's not willing to alter her lifestyle for 34 more weeks, then she probably won't be able to be a responsible parent once the baby comes. She's too self-centered.

okay so i am 16 years old/female and i have only gotten my period once.. when i was 14. i think this is really wierd because like i have gone through every other part of puberty, like im done growing and my boobs are big and everything. when i did get my period it was a full 6 days and i dont know why i never got it again. it was late to begin with too since i have been the same height and stuff since i last got it. my parents say want to take me to get blood work done and im scared though. what could be the reason for not getting it? i've also never had sex and i also get a normal amount of discharge. help please!!!! (link)
|
Are you very thin or athletic? That might explain your lack of periods. Whatever the reason, it wouldn't hurt to go see a doctor and possibly get blood tests. There are many different hormones that are necessary in the right proportions for having a period. Leuteninzing hormone, folicle stimulating hormone, estrogen, progesterone, and even testosterone in women must be balanced just right. Hopefully, the doctor will say nothing's wrong, but s/he can sometimes give you an approximately week-long course of artificial progesterone to see if it will induce periods. I hope you find either your answer or just some reassurance.

I went to neutrogena.com and did this little quiz thing to find out what products to get. Has one done that? And did the products work?
I'm thinking about buying them but I want to know if nuetrogena worked for anyone else to clear acne. (link)

I haven't taken the test, but I do use their healthy skin makeup and their oil control facial scrub. I use Biore cleansing wipes and those strips. This combination seems to work for me. I hope you find what works for you.

Just above my belly button I have 2 small cuts/slits that kind of look like I had a belly button ring but I never had my belly button pierced or had surgery that could cause it. I have had them for a while now so I was wondering what could they be from. (link)
|
No, they can't be caused by having sex. :P
I don't know what they're from, but likely you got scratched by a cat or something. It's probably just some small injury that you don't remember.

I've been in love with this guy now (ever since 8th grade), I'm still in highschool. He's a teacher and I'm pretty sure he's into me. We touch and have our "moments". I promised his one of his family members that I wouldn't get him in trouble but lately we've been all over each other. He's so perfect in every way. What should I do? (link)
|
First, how old are you? If he is caught with you, he risks not only his job, but also his freedom. He could be jailed (depending on your age). Even if you're above the age of consent, he would still lose his job if your relationship came to light. That's just the repercussions on *him.*
You may think that pursuing a relationship with him is a great idea. It's not. You are setting yourself up for pain which will leave a lifelong scar.
If you're not far from 8th grade, then you are too young and your guy is a pedophile. If you are even a senior in high school, and he's a teacher you've known since 8th grade, that means that he is at least 26 years old. He is WAY too old to be having a relationship with a teenager. It's even more gross if he's some married 40-year-old or something.
If he were "perfect in every way," he wouldn't want to have anything to do with you outside of the classroom. His doing so violates a sacred trust that society places upon its teachers.
So what should you do? Break it off, NOW. Sorry it's not what you want to hear.

i had sex the day before i got my period, but can i still be pregnunt if i sitll got it the day after i had sex? (link)
|
Here. I answered this yesterday.
can i be pregnunt if i get my period the next day after i have sex?
Not likely. You need a ripened egg in your fallopian tube in order to get pregnant. During your menses, the egg you released most recently has degraded and is being released with the tissue. Your next one will ripen and be released in about 14 days from the first day of your period. It's not out of the question (for example, if you didn't get your period, but instead experienced spotting as the embryo attached to your uterine wall), but is highly unlikely, especially if your cycle is regular and you know you were due for your period.

I finally get over my fight with Sarah, and now shes depending on me becuase shes in a BIG fight with britany. since sarah's mad at britany, she told me her "big" secret. she might move to seattle, which is so far away from where i live. im upset that i have 2 bear such a secret, and that sarahs so miserable. what do i do? (link)
|
Be friendly to all of your friends. Make new friends when you can. Regarding Sarah possibly moving away, the one time it's good to procrastinate is when it comes to freaking out about things over which you have no control. Don't stress too much about it, if you can help it, until it's confirmed that Sarah is definitely moving away. Then go through the stages of grieving.
Sabine
For everyone else, the author tells me I misread. Britany is moving away, not Sarah. The author is happy, not sad. The author should look up "Pronoun ambiguity."

Very briefly.
I know this sounds weird...but
I am so paranoid that I cant sleep.
I believe that there is some paranormal
or supernatural spirit in my home that
will hurt me. I have taken over and
perscript. drugs for this but nothing
has helped. I am afraid to sleep!! This
is affecting my daily life. I plan on
going to see a psychiatrist soon but
making the appt. and all takes a while.
So until then what can I do? I have already looked at many sites and found nothing helful enough.
-Keosha(columnist) (link)
|
Can you stay somewhere else or does this paranormal sensation seem to follow you wherever you are? Are there any things that would make you feel better, such as burning sage (which is a Native American tradition to clarify a place and neutralize bad spirits)? Is there a protective spirit, perhaps of a loved one, whom you can call on to protect you while you sleep? Are you religious and of the belief that God can and will protect you? I'm not sure I believe in spirits harming the living, but what matters is what you believe is going on. I'm glad you're seeing a psychiatrist who can help confirm which of your perceptions are reality and which could be delusional. Take care of yourself. This must be very, very hard for you to deal with.

i know its rare for a girl to ejaculate but is there anyway to increase the chances of that happening or make it easier to happen? (link)
|
From what I remember from college courses, it's a structural difference between women. Some of us have ejaculate (cum) and some of us don't. It's not related to whether or not we have orgasm, though, so I don't know why anyone would actually *want* it to happen. Just another mess to clean up. KWIM? :)

14/F I'm homeschooled and I'm very popular. But my only problem, is with guys. I have a lot of guy friends that like me, but I don't feel the same as they do. And I really want a boyfriend, but since I do not like the boys (in that way) I know, how can I meet other boys? Any ideas, comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. (link)
|
So you're saying you're very popular with your homeschooling group? Or do you go to the local high school for sports or something? Other places I would go to meet boys is the local YMCA or swimming pool in the summer, possibly the mall or wherever kids hang out in your town, any youth centers, volunteer opportunities, such as Habitat for Humanity or the local blood center, and church. What's important is to find where your passion lies. What do you like to do? If you're a movie buff, you might find boys you would like at the theater, for example. If you find them at places of common interest, you already have a common subject to talk about. KWIM?

where does hair grow? from the rrooots or from the ends,.? coz im trying to make my hair longer and this is what i read from a website:
" Trim your hair often, at least once in 5-6 weeks, so that split ends and dry hair are removed. Hair stops growing at the split ends. " (link)
|
ygsgrl is right. Your hair grows from the roots. Hair, once it grows beyond the folicle, is dead tissue, like your fingernails. Nothing can "revive" your hair, except in a figurative sense. Cutting off the split ends keeps the ends from splitting futher up and the hair from breaking off, so it may appear that a hair trim helps your hair grow. It really just prevents damage. To help your hair grow, just be sure to get plenty of protein in your diet, since your hair is made out of proteins. Get enough rest, because sleep is when your body regenerates damaged cells and when growth happens.
Good luck.
Sabine
Additional Info: In the rating you asked for further info. Think of it this way. When you trim 1/4 inch off your hair, it keeps the split ends trimmed off. If you let the split ends stay, the split can spread up the shaft of the hair, due to dryness and heat damage. Then the split can go, say 3/4 of an inch up the hair, causing it to break off. In that case, trimming 1/4 inch of your hair saves another 1/2 inch of damage from occurring. The net result is that healthy hair, properly trimmed and undamaged hair, seems to grow faster because it's not breaking off. Does that make sense? Hope I helped.

I'm 15. what kind of birth control pills would i be put on? and does anyone know approximate costs? (link)
|
I've worked for doctors who prescribed birth control. From what I've found, there's not really any "starter pill" that's standard. The pill prescribed depends on the doctor's personal preferences and what s/he recommends for you based upon your history, such as whether you smoke, whether you have a family history of heart disease, stroke, or breast cancer, and what other medications you might be on. They also consider your reasons for using the pill. They might prescribe different ones for birth control only than they would for acne or menstrual regulation.
I got pills free a couple of times through planned parenthood, and doctors usually will give you at least a month's worth free to start out and see if the pill works well with your system. I have seen them range from about $20 per month to about $60 per month.
Here's a pretty informative link for information on different types of pills:

Good luck,

I know eww it's smelly, but it's weird. I am fairly thick. Like I have large inner theighs and I guess it is the main problem but my pussy has a smell Like it is an onion smell like from sweating I guess. But it is there as soon as I get out of the shower. I can't get rid of it..
Medical problem that I should consult my gyno about?
Or is it normal? (link)
|
That could be normal, could be a result of your diet (garlic, onions, etc. have been known to seep out in sweat), or could be a symptom of disease. Sometimes a persistent smell is due to a chronic infection. Wear cotton panties, and not thongs because they hold your labia too close to your body. Make sure you clean well, but do not douche. FDS and other deodorant products can be irritating, so be careful. There are also glands on the outside of our vaginas which can get clogged and infected and make bad odors. Mainly, you need to ask the doctor. Good luck.

I'm not one to complain...and I'm fat...but my gran is gettin a tad bit too thin! She's a diabetic..and I was wondering what could 'fatten' her up. Like something that will make her put on the pounds?
Thankies! (link)
|
Is her physician concerned? What she can do depends on the severity of her diabetes. If she has been told to avoid carbs or something, it's going to be hard. In addition, if she has insulin, she has more options than if she's on the pills. One thing I can suggest is that she use some Boost or Ensure. I think they have diabetic formulas if she needs those. It's important for little old ladies not to get too thin - they have higher risks of fracturing bones if they fall. You are right to be concerned.

well alright the other night me and my boyfriend were planning on having sex. I was prepared, or so i thought. I expected sex to hurt since i was still a virgin and all but it hurt way more than i could take. As a result i pushed him back and we tried again. But i was in so much pain i couldnt do it. After he felt like it was all his fault and i know its all mine. he thought he pressured me into it and i told him that it just was not enjoyable for me and it was extremely painful. He got all quiet and i tried to kiss him, he didnt kiss back. Later we were talking and he said i just feel like i ruined my chance with you. I was overcome with saddness and found myself in tears that i could not control. He then felt like a complete jerk and started blaming himself and telling me i am the only girl he ever had loved also that if i didnt want we dont have to have sex. What should i do about this? (link)
|
Please let me add that while the other advice was wonderful, encouraging, and perfect, you should listen to your body. Since you're starting to be sexually active, you should see a gynecologist if you haven't already. The gynecologist can reassure you that there's nothing wrong with you, physically. Then you can start again, slowly and with lots of lube.
You have my sympathy. Painful sex is terrible for both partners and very hard on a relationship.

My mother and I believe that I have ADD. I can't focus on any one thing. If you told me to think about bananas, I'd end up with something completely different. I think about so many things at once, that I don't even know what I'm thinking about. What are some other symptoms of ADD? How do I convince my dad to take me to the doctor and get me meds if need be (he doesn't believe me)? (link)
|
Does your school offer free screening? If you were able to go to your father with a positive screening test in hand, he might be more likely to agree to further testing. He could be just opposed to putting you on medications right now. Meanwile, you can research non-medical treatments or behavioral things which may help you in the meantime.
