My mother and I believe that I have ADD. I can't focus on any one thing. If you told me to think about bananas, I'd end up with something completely different. I think about so many things at once, that I don't even know what I'm thinking about. What are some other symptoms of ADD? How do I convince my dad to take me to the doctor and get me meds if need be (he doesn't believe me)?
Sabine answered Thursday January 11 2007, 2:37 pm: Does your school offer free screening? If you were able to go to your father with a positive screening test in hand, he might be more likely to agree to further testing. He could be just opposed to putting you on medications right now. Meanwile, you can research non-medical treatments or behavioral things which may help you in the meantime.
If both you and your mother still think you have ADD, once reading the symptoms, etc. I would show your father the symptoms and the page above, and explain to him how you have those symptoms, etc. And I'm sure he will do that, or your mother could do this for you. :) [ LagunaBabe's advice column | Ask LagunaBabe A Question ]
