I'd love to answer anybody's questions, but I'll usually avoid the ones about friends or relationships because those tend to bore me. :) I am knowledgable in a variety of topics, specifically fashion, etiquette, and questions about spirituality
/religion. Proper grammar and spelling is * sOoOo freekin hAwTt*.
But anyhow, I will try to answer every question as best as I can. I can't promise, however, to sugar-coat things or tell you what you want to hear, or rid my answers of any sarcasm, but I'll try. :)
I am a strong Christian that likes to study other religions, so I can better see eye-to-eye with people who have different opinions than my own. I am not perfect, nor do I claim to be, so please, never take any of my answers too personally. :)
In my spare time, I love playing the piano, listening to folk/indie music, doing volunteer work, writing, studying Spanish, learning about fashion and make-up, and acting competitively.
Ciao! :)

why do people put fashion problems questions in the spirituality section fashion has nothing to do with religion people. (link)

Yep that kind of pisses me off.

My hair is very damaged. I wash, dry, and straighten (with a CHI iron) my hair daily. I've dyed it numerous times professionally, but she didn't dye it right.
When she redyed it to touch it up, she didn't just put color on the roots then on the rest of the hair 15-20 minutes later. She put it all on at once.
I haven't dyed my hair since July and you can see where the damaged hair stops and the healthy hair starts. I know the only way to completely repair damaged hair is to cut it off but I'm looking for a product that will temporarily "fix" my hair and give it a healthy appearance.
Thanks=)

If you have the money, I would suggest going to your salon for a hot oil hair treatment. It's super relaxing and will strengthen and bring shine back to damaged hair.
If that's not an option, you can buy a deep or leave-in conditioner (Garnier Fructis has a cheap one, and Frederic Fekkai a more expensive one) to use a couple times a week.
Then there's always the do-it-yourself option. There are several methods and "recipes" out there for at home hair treatments, so look around and try a couple if you'd like. Here are some links with several recipes, as well as some for your face and skin:

I have pale skin, usually. It isn't scary pale, its more like ivory, but when I'm in fluerescent (spelling?) lighting, I look really...sickly? It just doesn't look good. I look like a vampire, and I obviously don't like it. Plus, the entire school has fluerescent lighting, and I definitely don't want to look bad at school. My question is, is there anything I can do (makeup trick, etc) that won't make me look washed out? Thanks =] (link)
|
Eek! Don't do what the person under me suggested. If you wear foundation darker than your natural skin tone, you'll just look like a pale person who doesn't know how to pick out make-up. :)
You can warm up your skin tone with peachy blushes and light-colored bronzers. Go easy on the bronzer though, nobody looks good with dark brown streaks going across their cheek bones. Also, avoid harsh or dark colored eye and lip make-up that will only make you look paler. Instead, wear brown or charcoal eyeliner/mascara rather than dark black, and a nude or rose pink lipgloss rather than dark-tinted gloss or lipstick.

I'm fourteen years old, but I'm small and I have a very young looking face. When people guess my age they think I'm twelve. I have brown hair, blue eyes, and very pale skin. If anyone had any suggestions on how to look a little bit older, they would be greatly appreciated =] I was also thinking that highlights might help, and if anyone knows about if that would help or not, I would love it. Thanks! (link)
|
My advice ... don't try to look older! Having a younger look is something you'll be dying to have when your 40. :) You could pile all the make-up and hair color on that you want, but then you'll just look like a 12 year old trying to look 18. Don't sweat it. Who cares if people think you're a certain age? That doesn't make you inferior or less pretty than any other girls your age. Instead, mature actions and a mature attitude will carry you a lot farther, and you will earn lots more respect from people than if you loaded up on foundation and eyeshadow. Just because you look this way now, or feel like you look this way now, doesn't mean you'll look that way for the rest of your life. :)

I am still stuck on this issue. As you could see from my past questions, I need serious help with this issue. My husband does not accept me for my baptism. Even though I was like 5 and have not sinned and did not know the difference as I do now, does that make it wrong? I feel like I am going to lose my husband because of this. He will not leave me. This is my personal feeling. I want my husband to accept me fully. We have difference views on certain topics in the Bible. He does not believe certain things I have to say. He is always right. How am I suppose to know which interpretation is the right one? Was I baptised wrong? Should I follow my husband and his belief for the sake of our marriage and our future children and be baptised in his church? We are both Christians, but different kind of churches. But I only believe in one baptism. Should I not be baptised and just suck it up and go to church with him and forget it? I do not want to have to go to different churches and how could I raise my child that way? He will not leave his church and allow us to be "one" as marriage should be. I am willing to do this. What should I do? I am so lost. I don't know if I should talk to a therapist or what. (link)
|
What I want to know is ... why does your husband care so much? Is he truly concerned for your salvation or does he just want to be argumentative about something? His inability to have a healthy relationship with you just because you were baptized a certain way concerns me, and honestly, I can't think of a good reason why it should even matter to him.
I would consider Christian marriage counseling. It's good for any married couple, whether they're having problems or not. It will allow a third person to step in and help the two of you reach a compromise and see each other more eye-to-eye. Sounds to me like it's time for a professional to step in. I wish the best for you!

omg im addicted to looking at peoples profiles and myspace pages! how do i stop? like i know this is stalker-ish, but sometimes when im bored i just read them and stuff (link)
|
As life-threatening as it sounds, I would just delete your MySpace. I've never had one, but I used to have a Xanga and never caught on to the trend. ;) It's actually nice to have more of a life than your friends, and you avoid lots of nasty drama too, and can't get your feelings hurt because you're not on someone's Top Eight. :) The only down-side is that sometimes you feel like you're missing out on stuff, and people you know from way back always look for your MySpace to get in touch, to find out you either don't have one or are impossible to find. :)

I grew up in an Episcopal Church and my husband of almost 2 years grew up in Church of Christ. We are both Christians, but why does there have to be many forms of baptism? I was poured upon as a small child and my husband was emerged when he was a young teenager. He accepts my beliefs but does not accept the way I was baptized. This is a big issue for me. Why would I want to be married to a man that does not accept fully me? Why would I want my children to grow up(when or if we have any) questioning me, "mommy why weren't you baptized?" Does this make sense to anyone? Has anyone went through this to know what I am talking about? If so, please give me advice or a way to show my husband that either way can be right.
Thanks! (link)
|
Well, I'm Episcopalian as well, and I personally find it offensive when other Christians criticize how I was baptised. I don't think that this issue should necessarily ruin your marriage, but maybe instead of focusing on the differences, you and your husband can talk about how you both believe the same basic concepts of Christianity, just execute them differently.
A few years ago, this same topic came up in my family and my dad, who had never been baptised, decided to have a fully submerged baptism along with my little brother, who had been baptized in an Episcopal church. I toyed around with the idea of being baptised a second time, just to "be safe", but then I decided against it. The Bible clearly states in Romans 10:9 that if "you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." He doesn't mention being baptized one way or another.
I disagree with mylordwon, however. Mark 16:16 says "Anyone who believes me and is baptized will be saved." Notice the AND is baptized, not "anyone who believes me THEN is baptized."
So, do I think it's important to be baptized? Yes, it's symbolic of a Christian entering the church. Do I think it matters how it's done? I don't think so, and God wouldn't want his church divided over something like that. I truly don't believe God is going to reject me at the gates of heaven because I was baptized as a baby, in a bowl, even though I am a strong believer and have accepted him as my Savior.
Good luck. :)

"What nourishes me destroys me"
or
"What nourishes me also destorys me"
I'v seen 3 people with those tattoo. What does it mean? (link)
|
Oh, I saw this on America's Next Top Model. :) One of the models had it.
I think that refers to any sort of addiction, whether it's anorexia, drugs, alcohol, etc. Whatever you numb yourself with- drugs, let's say - will also slowly destroy you as you suppress your emotions with it. I heard Angelina Jolie was the one who first got this tattooed, and she had a problem for a long time with drugs and cutting. At the time, these things comforted her, but they just ended up hurting her in the long term. That's my take on it. :)

I can’t help but feel as though I’m not headed anywhere good.
I have not one, not two, but three mental disorders, one of which they discovered in me. Lucky, no? The first one, depression, was discovered when I was in seventh grade (I’m in ninth now) and pushed me to attempt suicide several times. I got over that and moved straight on to anxiety, which proceeded to generally be a bitch to me in all areas. Then, my doctor managed to identify the third one, which I’d had for years. That’s the unidentified one, which I like to call “Emotionless Bastard Syndrome”. Basically, my emotions turn off, sometimes when provoked and sometimes for no particular reason. I’ll be somewhere and I’ll just go completely numb.
Over the past few years, I’ve started to feel more and more… Distant. I’ve read very heavy books and graphic novels, and grow more and more disgusted by my own species. I wrote this, which is probably not a good sign:
***
Dear Humanity,
What the fuck happened?
I mean this in all seriousness. You were doing so well. Genuinely, I think everyone expected you would turn out great. You certainly had an excellent start…. You discovered the wheel, fire, electricity, and a whole lot of complicated nuclear stuff. I was always able to overlook your shortcomings because of your promising future, but now this shit has gone too far. You’ve pushed your luck, folks.
Where to start? I guess the first thing I should mention is this little consumer ideal thing you’ve got going for you. You just can’t stop buying shit… And not even shit you need, stupid shit. There’s also bullshit, but I’ll get to that later. So anyway, you kicked off with all this capitalism and free enterprise stuff and that seemed like it was working out, better than communism in any event. But then you got your second addiction, and this addiction was to buying. Didn’t matter what, you would buy pretty much anything and everything regardless of whether you needed it or not. Once again, began pretty innocent. You had free enterprise, you could buy or sell whatever shit you needed, and it was good. But Jesus Christ. How many brands of vacuum cleaners need to fucking exist in the first place? Humanity, I sentence you to watch the movie Fight Club about eight hundred times.
Next, how about we talk about ignorance. This is another strong one, particularly amongst the young. Now, for fuck’s sake, you guys are inheriting the future, and this is the kind of mindset you’ve got? There’s other people starving all over the world, there are kids with dads who rape them every night, and the best complaint you have is about the color of your god damn iPod? Also, if there’s a country that represents the human mindset, it’s America. You use up 80% of the world’s resources, ignore the counsel of other countries, invade smaller nations whilst trying to force your system of government upon them, and have the balls to call yourself leader of the fucking free world? Christ, Teddy Roosevelt would be rolling over in his grave.
And while we get to the subject of invasion and wars, I would like to politely ask the lot of you to sit and wait for five fucking minutes before blowing each other up for once. Come the fuck on. It seems like as soon as everybody has their conflicts resolved and they don’t give a shit about their differences, someone gets greedy or stupid or pissed and decides to find another reason to kill people. And before you know it, BAM! War. Another fucking war. Who’d have guessed? Whether it be for revenge or land or money or resources or women or honor or stupidity, it seems vital to you that you kill a whole bunch of each other in order to satisfy you for a short period of time. Come on guys, at least be original.
Moving on, I’d like to point out the royally shitty job you’ve done of taking care of the place you got handed to you. It was classy, too: Millions of other species, vast geological wonders, and natural occurrences that could only be described as miracles, and you had to move in and burn all the forests and kill all the whales and destroy your fucking ozone. An ozone, I have to give you credit for that one. That’s impressive. I mean, it’s one thing to go out and be completely selfish bastards to all the other beings your sharing the planet with, but to destroy something that existed only for your protection in the god damn first place? Humanity, your incredible selfishness and short-sightedness remains unmatched. I can’t imagine. I just can’t imagine.
Now, lets move on to our most pressing matter, which would be bullshit. By this, I would mean the bullshit that you’ve clouded your worlds with. It’s on your news, in your books, filling up your churches… No fucking surprise it’s in your minds. Still not clear what bullshit is? You believing a woman who tells you that the 9/11 widows are all profiting from their husbands deaths, that’s bullshit. A politician who tells you that the rights of a lump of cells outrank those of a crippled man or a grandmother with Alzheimer’s, that’s bullshit. A Texan who tells you that someone else’s happiness detracts from his happiness, that’s bullshit. Every dinner table manner you’ve ever had to learn, every polite lie you’ve ever had to tell, every useless algebra fact they ever drilled into your brain, that’s all prime BS. And a clergy member who tells you that god is amidst all the burning bodies and screaming children? What you have here is real bullshit.
In the bullshit department, religion is the undisputed champion, and always has been. As usual, an innocent start: A bunch of people decide that life sucks and they don’t know what comes after it, so there’s some big guy in the sky who’s taking care of all that for them. I repeat: Come the fuck on. I really would think you would have gotten over this shit by now. This primitive idea has been defended in so many ways for so many years it grows sickening. “Why did god burn my house down?” He works in mysterious ways. “Why did he give me cancer?” We are all a part of his plan. “Why does he murder the children?” Their time on earth was done. Has it ever occurred to you that right now, and I mean right now, there are people who are living lives that will consist of more misery and less happiness than you could ever imagine? There comes a time where you just have to stop rationalizing and admit the blindingly obvious: You are alone in your sad little existence.
Humanity, your being has been a downward spiral for thousands of years, and I believe that you are now beyond redemption or any kind of savior. Buy your last clothes, kill your last enemies, suck your last drops of oil from the earth, and pray to whatever gods or myths you may wish. You were so promising… But your time has finally come. Like all species, you will fade into the past, where perhaps others will learn from your failure. But for now, all you can do is hope for the best.
Truly,
Me
***
I began to feel as though the weight of the world was on my shoulders. Now, it seems as though I’m so inside myself that no one knows my true face… I hide behind a wall of atheism and skepticism, which is probably more curiosity gone wrong than a genuine staunch opinion. Every day I’d look up more and more reasons why God doesn’t exist… And boy did I find them. But I recently realized that what I’m looking for is not disproof: It’s proof. I want to believe so badly that someone out there more competent than humans handling this, but I just can’t bring myself to. I recently got a girlfriend, which helped a lot.
And now, I feel like I’m chasing a dream or a ghost of some sort. I’ll go onto Google and search for words like “meaning” or “answers”. I don’t know what I want, I don’t know why I want it, but I can’t stop wanting it… I just don’t know what’s going on. It’s like I’m slipping out of reality or falling out of the world. Thanks for reading this far. I guess I was hoping maybe somebody had answers.

If somehow I had every answer to every philosophical question about meaning and existence and purpose and reason, then I would write it down in a book, sell it on E-bay, and buy out Donald Trump. But in all seriousness, here is my opinion, and you are very lucky that 5+ people have read your entire question because I usually just skip over ones like that. But yours grabbed my attention. :)
You ask about why evil exists in the world, and why God doesn't try to stop it. You give several common examples, all of which are very legitimate and difficult to answer. This will make for a very long answer, but I like this analogy.
_________________________________________________
A University professor at a well-known institution of higher learning challenged his students with this question.
"Did God create everything that exists?"
A student bravely replied, "Yes he did!"
"God created everything?" The professor asked.
"Yes, sir, he certainly did," the student replied."
The professor answered, "If God created everything; then God created evil. And, since evil exists, and according to the principal that our works define who we are, then we can assume God is evil."
The student became quiet and did not answer the professor's hypothetical definition. The professor, quite pleased with himself, boasted to the students that he had proven once more that the Christian faith was a myth..
An other student raised his hand and said, "May I ask you a question, professor?"
"Of course," replied the professor. The student stood up and asked, "Professor does cold exist?"
"What kind of question is this? Of course it exists. Have you never been cold?"
The other students snickered at the young man's question.
The young man replied, "In fact sir, cold does not exist. According to the laws of physics, what we consider cold is in reality the absence of heat. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy.
Absolute zero (-460F) is the total absence of heat; and all matter becomes inert and incapable of reaction at that temperature. Cold does not exist. We have created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat."
The student continued, "Professor, does darkness exist?"
The professor responded, "Of course it does."
The student replied, "Once again you are wrong sir, darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. Light we can study, but not darkness. In fact, we can use Newton 's prism to break white light into many colors and study the various wavelengths of each color. You cannot measure darkness. A simple ray of light can break into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How can you know how dark a certain space is? You measure the amount of light present. Isn't this correct? Darkness is a term used by man to describe what happens when there is no light present."
Finally the young man asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?"
Now uncertain, the professor responded, "Of course, as I have already said. We see it everyday. It is in the daily examples of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil.
To this the student replied, "Evil does not exist, sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a world that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat, or the darkness that comes when there is no light."

Anybody can post their opinion about anything under your question, and it won't do your question any justice. Really. Who are we to tell you the meaning of this world and your life when really we're trying to figure it out for ourselves? I love what you said about "hiding behind a wall of atheism and skepticism." You are obviously incredibly smart and well-spoken, so I challenge you to look for more answers not from a bunch of anonymous internet posters, but from God himself. Honestly. God put you in this position for a reason, and you are dealing with the struggles in your life because something is going to come from them. I promise. Maybe not this week, this year, or in this decade, but your life will not be in vain, I can promise you. For one day, one day, I challenge you to put your hands in the life of God. Just once. See what he does. You can say, "How can you possibly trust your life with something you don't even have proof exists?" We don't know gravity exists- we can speculate, we can do experiments, but nobody will ever see or touch gravity-- yet we trust it with our lives every day. God can't hurt us, he won't hurt us, so just try it. See what happens. I promise you, if you sincerely do that, something will happen. I sound nuts, I know, but just do it. You say you want so badly to believe that someone is out there more competent than us human beings, and that is something I greatly admire. Honestly. Part of Christianity, part of any religion for that matter, is having faith and an open mind. For putting our lives in the hands of something we can't prove, but do anyways. What's there to lose? I would rather cling to something false than live in pain and sadness everyday as I Google my life in hopes of some clarification. You are right. Atheism is just a mental wall that shields you from discovering the truth, and closes off your mind to any possibility of hope. I believe you can do this. Don't waste your incredible gift of intelligence and talent (which, is very apparent in this question) only to shut off your mind from any light or guidance or real hope.
Here's to hoping that made any sort of sense. :) Please, honestly, if you have any other questions, ask me.
__________________________________________________
EDIT: Wow! Rational is something I've never been called. You could possibly have made my day. ;)
Thanks for that. I hope maybe if you got anything out of my encyclopedia-size answer it's that not all Christians are nutcases. :)
In response to your rating ... I understand that you want to believe in God, I really do, but at what point to we allow rational thought and logic to stop controlling our lives and decisions and start relying instead on faith? The point I was making with the gravity analogy was not that gravity is proven and God isn't, but that it is not always necessary to be able to see something or touch something to accept it as reality. And could God not explain how things work?
Your questions about how God allows suffering in the world is possibly the most asked question by believers and nonbelievers alike. And yes, God does love all his children, and wants love in return. But can you really force someone to love you? No. So God gave us the gift of free will, which was taken advantage of in Genesis by Adam and Eve. Thus, the children being slaughtered at a young age. But how does that explain natural deaths and disasters? If we lived in a perfect world, why would we need God? If we never had the opportunity to have faith in God during our struggles, and why would we need a perfect life in heaven after death if we already had that perfect life on earth? The more you think about it, the more it will make sense.
I did read the link you sent me, and appreciate that. I have never seen that, so I went ahead and took the Einstein reference out of my story. Don't want to misrepresent anyone. :) But either way, I think it is still a good, thought-provoking explanation. :) Now, in return for my reading your little recommendation, will you read mine? "A Case for a Creator", a book by Lee Strobel, a former atheist. Even if it's just to further strengthen your testimony against a God, it's still a good read. :) Thanks again for being a pleasant person to discuss with.

It seems like all fashion models are tall, and when watching Americas Next Top Model on tv, there was this one girl (bre i think) and they said she was like almost too short to be a model, and she wasnt even that short! I'm only 13/f right now, but when i grow older i want to try to be a model, but i'm extremely short, so i was wondering if there is any modeling careers out there that let shorter people model (right now i'm only like almost five foot) (link)
|
If you're only 13, you still have some time to grow, so don't sweat it. ;) I myself am an ANTM junkie, and I actually heard Tyra say that it is a myth that models have to be 6 foot tall to do runway- generally, they are 5'9" to 5'11". But that's not to say you can't be a little shorter. Also, there are other types of modeling out there besides just runway- there is also commercial modeling, which is more magazines, cataloges, advertisements, and commercials. You may want to look into those as well! Good luck. :)

i heard somewhere that if u brush your hair while its wet it doesnt help prevent split ends. is this true? bcoz im geting my hair cut 2day and after that i need to really take good care of my hair.
thanks a lot
xxxx (link)
|
I don't know about split ends, but brushing your hair while it's wet is bad for it. Since your hair is weakest when it's wet, harsh brushing can pull out your hair or damage the shaft. It's always better to brush wet hair with a wide-tooth comb after thoroughly towel drying it. :)

was it a really good movie? (link)
|
I personally loved it. I'm not a huge movie buff, so I can usually be impressed by any movie, but this one was definitly worth the money. If you saw the Oprah special on it (like I did), then it gave most of it away, including all the good scenes. But I think it's a great movie for guys/girls & every age, and I never got bored or wondered how much longer (like I usually do!). Definitly go see it if you like inspirational movies!

about how much is a 300 word essay? (link)
|
It depends on the settings (font, size, spacing, margins, etc.), but generally, 300 words is a little over a page typed. (250 words usually to a page.) If you're hand-writing, it will be a little less than double that length.

seriously. why the hell does everyone have a problem with emo kids? like..i dress emo but that doesn't necessarily mean that i go around cutting myself. and even if i did, why do people notice emo people more than everyone else? and why do people say stuff about them? its stupid. half the kids are obviously depressed and i don't think people should make fun of them. then the other half just dresses this way because they really like music.
grr. it just really pisses me off.
i know that wasn't really a question, but still. (link)
|
No problem… I like "discussion questions", such as these. :)
I don't know if you've noticed, but every "clique" goes around bashing other "cliques". It's the way highschool is. You probably just noticed the "emo" remarks lately because you feel a connection to that group because of the music you listen to or the way you dress.
Almost every highschool student is going to have a problem with somebody, whether it's the preps, the "druggies", the nerds, whoever. But that doesn't make it right, it just shows the immaturity and shallowness of teenagers. I agree, it's stupid to judge people based on the way they dress or the things they like. It's just like your parents told you, people just say those things to make themselves feel better about themselves, and to mask their insecurities. Here's to some maturity. ;)

hey guys i really need help with this question. "Why do gangs exist?". i have looked everywhere but i cannont find a specific answer to this question. Any answers are fine. (link)
|
Well, I'm no professional, but I am very fascinated by gangs myself, since I don't live in an area where they are very prevalent.
To my knowledge, gangs mostly form because of a need for brotherhood or family. Most or all of gang members come from broken homes, with little parental support / involvement, education, opportunities, or feeling of self-worth. Basically, gangs are kind of the equivalent of teen pregnancy, but for guys. (Not to say that girls aren't found in gangs, but most of the time it is mostly male.) Many minority gangs, such as Crips or MS-13, are stemmed from feelings of hostility, non-acceptance in society, or vengeance toward the government. So they ban together, commit crimes, and create for themselves a feeling of unity, power, or invincibility that they were unable to find in their homes.

ok so heres the deal
Yes I'm underage, I don't need to be told off about that
It's just that I think that sometime in the near future I may be in a situation where it would be very cool to know something about drinking
Like, how do you avoid gettin caught, what is te appropriate time to drink at a party, and even what are some tips on turning down a drink in a social setting?
This is an honest question, if you're going to tell me I'm a bonehead I already know that, but please help me all you can anyhow.
(link)
|
There's nothing "cool" about knowing something about drinking. Wouldn't it be so much easier to not drink all together instead of posting some question on the internet about how to get away with something so dangerous like that? There's always the option of making a mature decision for yourself, or blindly following the crowd. Maybe this will inspire you ... ?
* Sixty percent of college women diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease were drunk at the time of infection.
*Approximately 240,000 to 360,000 of the nation's 12 million current undergraduates will ultimately die from alcohol-related causes--more than the number that will get MAs and PhDs combined.
*Individuals who begin drinking before the age of 15 are four times more likely to become alcohol dependent than those who begin drinking at age 21.
*Use of alcohol is associated with the leading causes of death and injury among teenagers and young adults.
*31.9 percent of youth under 18 years old in long-term, state-operated juvenile institutions in 2004 were under the influence of alcohol at the time of arrest.
*Students with grade point averages of D or F drink 3 times as much as those who earn A's.
*Rapid ingestion of alcohol can cause breathing difficulties and death.
As you can see, there's nothing glamorous about drinking-- unless you consider liver disease, throwing up, passing out, or jail time glamorous.
If you are faced with a situation where someone offers you a drink, there's nothing wrong with just saying "No, I'm good" or "I don't drink" and leaving. I read a magazine article one time about a girl who was always the one to get drunk, bring the beer, and drink with her friends. Later, in her college exam essay, she wrote that the person she admires the most was a girl at a party in highschool who never had a drink. She wished she had that kind of discipline and self-control, and admired someone who wouldn't crumble in a pressure-filled situation, especially as a teen.
I'm not trying to call you a bonehead. You're just asking yourself the same question that 100% of all highschool & college students have asked themselves. What you have to figure out is if you're going to be in the percentage that screws up, or the percentage that stands strong. Good luck. :)

EDIT: No, I am not offended by your rating at all. Iin fact, I find it quite generous since I hardly answered your question. :) Your choosing anonymity on a website since you were "oo embarrassed to ask anybody else", tells me that you are indeed ashamed of your decision, and don't wish for others to know. That saddens me, as I always think you should be proud of the choices you make. To assume "it's not going to ruin my entire life" shows great naivity as well. The outcome is beyond your knowledge, and can actually affect your life, just like a car ride or a date can. You never think that, but you just don't know. But anyhow, this is only my opinion and my advice, which, is what this site is for. :) (Hence, advice-nators.) But I wish you the best whatever decision you choose, and that if it does affect your life, it is in a positive way and will show you the consequences of your actions. Good luck! :)
Here are those citations you asked for. :)

Wicca, witch craft, and those religions centered around "magic" are very dangerous and can land you in a scary spiritual situation. Witch craft, fortune telling, and the like is simply demons trying to steal you from God with some false prophecies and powers. For the average person, religion and the belief in a higher power is a way of feeling accepted and loved, and I don't think a book of spells and some fairy dust can love you unconditionally the way Christ can.
But the first rule of witch craft that your sister mentioned really doesn't make sense to me. How can you possibly do what you want without hurting a soul? Unless you choose to live a perfect life, which, good luck with that, you're going to hurt somebody- it's inevitable. So then what, you fall back on some magic spells? With Christianity, everybody sins, that's how human beings are, but you have God's grace to forgive you. I wouldn't rule out Christianity just yet. Please let me know if I can answer any questions for you -- choosing the religion you're going to follow is such a serious decision, so don't take it lightly. :)

Thanks for the rating! And your opinion is not hurtful at all. Everybody graps and accepts things at different times, it's just a matter of what kind of person you are. I know some about other religions, but not enough to educate someone, as I am a Christian myself. Christianity, and any religion for that matter, can be a difficult concept to grasp, but that is where faith comes in. If you have a very scientific mind, I would suggest reading A Case for A Creator, by Lee Strobel. It explains a lot of things, specifically about creation and divine power, and is all around a great book. If there's anything else though, I can try to recommend some other books to you, I'm not much of a reader but I can find a few, or I can answer any questions for you. :)

I have a ton of clothes, yet I have an extremely hard time putting together a good outfit! Please, some detailed advice! (link)
|
Okay ... not sure if this is what you're looking for or not, but here goes. ;)
I'm not sure what style or kind of clothes you tend to buy, but it may be time to clean out your closet, take them to a resale shop, and buy some new clothes with the dough. :) For people who have a hard time making outfits, buying basic pieces are best. (I.e. neutrals, solid colored tops, nothing too decorative) This makes it easy to "mix and match" with other pieces & accessories. Also, the magical solids + patterns lesson. If you're wearing a patterend skirt, wear a solid top, and vice versa. But maybe you already knew that. :) Solids on solids are okay, but can be kind of boring, so break it up with a cute hoodie or scarf, or a big chunky necklace.
Layering is also good, but can make you look bulky if you're wearing 4 different shirts. Sweaters over button-down shirts, bold tank tops under a basic t-shirt, or a long-sleeve shirt over a short-sleeve one can help you get more wear out of one piece of clothing, as opposed to wearing that shirt with the same outfit every single time.
Anyhow, not sure if that was what you were looking for. Clothes are something I do pretty well, so let me know if you have any more specific questions I can answer. :) Good luck!

So i was supposed to get my shoes before Christmas but it never came. And today I finally got it.. after like a month of waiting.
And they don't even fit! My shoe size is 6 but apparently I need a 7.
And they cost $50 online and i don't want my mom to buy another pair. :[
I dont know what to do.. It's lke my fault and I'm wasting money.
Is it really my fault? It's bothering me.
One of my feet can't even get into the shoe.

Most online stores will let you return their products, just check their policy. Sometimes, you can return them directly to the store (if they have one) or send them back to the warehouse and they'll ship you a new pair. You just have to pay shipping costs.

hey im not the best with covering up zits
is there anyway to do it to make it look like its not even there?
any advice will make me happy:) (link)

Buy a concealer that is one shade lighter than your skin tone. (I love the Cover Girl brand ... not sure what it is called but it has a blue cap and its liquid). Then dab a little on the spot you want to conceal. I find that its easier if you let it sit for 1-2 minutes. Then use a sponge, concealer brush, or your finger and blend it. Blending is the most important part because it makes it look natural, and not like you have a circle of makeup covering a zit. :) Then just dust a little transluscent powder over it, blend again, and voila! :) Good luck.
