I'm not sure what style or kind of clothes you tend to buy, but it may be time to clean out your closet, take them to a resale shop, and buy some new clothes with the dough. :) For people who have a hard time making outfits, buying basic pieces are best. (I.e. neutrals, solid colored tops, nothing too decorative) This makes it easy to "mix and match" with other pieces & accessories. Also, the magical solids + patterns lesson. If you're wearing a patterend skirt, wear a solid top, and vice versa. But maybe you already knew that. :) Solids on solids are okay, but can be kind of boring, so break it up with a cute hoodie or scarf, or a big chunky necklace.
Layering is also good, but can make you look bulky if you're wearing 4 different shirts. Sweaters over button-down shirts, bold tank tops under a basic t-shirt, or a long-sleeve shirt over a short-sleeve one can help you get more wear out of one piece of clothing, as opposed to wearing that shirt with the same outfit every single time.
Anyhow, not sure if that was what you were looking for. Clothes are something I do pretty well, so let me know if you have any more specific questions I can answer. :) Good luck! [ opinionated06's advice column | Ask opinionated06 A Question ]
EasyPeasy answered Wednesday January 3 2007, 11:38 pm: Make sure you have a few things that go with everything:
-A plain black top (if black is not your colour try a lower v-neck so it's not next to your face)
-A plain white top
-Plain medium or dark wash jeans (not skinnies, make sure the pattern on the pockets is not to colorful)
-Simple/plain flats or runners in a neutral color (navy, gray, black, white, beige)
-A simple skirt in a neutral color
-Plain tops and tanks to layer (in neutral colours, too)
Remember when you are shopping for clothing to look for classic neutral pieces that you can easily pair with a lot of the fun and flashy things that you have. Ask yourself before buying something you love: "Can you wear it with most of the clothes in your closet?" [ EasyPeasy's advice column | Ask EasyPeasy A Question ]

What do you want advice ON, exactly? You don't describe a thing in your closet, and expect us to be psychic and create a fabulous wardrobe for you.
I live in ultra trendy Los Angeles. I wear a lot of kimonos and dresses, sometimes over jeans. I am in love with plain, white Hanes t-shirts over shorts with a thick bracelet pushed up on my arm with cute flats or flip-flops.
becca08 answered Wednesday January 3 2007, 10:58 pm: your best bet would be to color coordinate. And lace shirts are so pretty under another top if the lace shirt is long enough. Sorry if that wasn't much help. I'd have to see the clothings. [ becca08's advice column | Ask becca08 A Question ]
