im a 13 year old female. my mom is very strict about "getting enough sleep" and i have a VERY early bedtime. i have to be off the computer by 8:50 pm and i have to be in bed and be watching a half hour tv show from 9:00 to 9:30. i HAVE to be sleeping by 9:30 pm. even if im not done with homework or want to read a couple more pages of my book, I HAVE TO BE SLEEPING. so i go to sleep at 9:30 pm and wake up at 6:45 am. I think i don't need that much sleep. my friends go to bed at 11:30 and they are still wide awake at school. and what makes it worse is that i have the SAME exact bedtime as my 9 year old sister. thats 4 years apart!! i don't think it's fair and i don't think its neccessary to be sleeping by 9:30 pm i feel if i went to bed at 10 or 10:30, i would still get the sleep i need. what time do you guys go to bed and do you think my moms being fair? how can i get my mom to change my bedtime? and shes very strict so i need some good ways to pursuade her with.

that is really really unfair. i can understand that your mom loves you and wants you to go to bed early but 9 30?!? my curfew is 10 and im the same age. then i talk on the phone. but yeahh i deffiently talk to her about it and tell her how you feel. i am not very good with strict parents...my dad is strict so i talk to my mom when i need help. i am sorry about the early bedtime. try talking to her. hope i helped

I'm a tennis player and I always wear soffee (sp?) shorts to play tennis in, run in, or lift weights in. Wearing a thong to workout is so unconfortable, so i was wondering what underwear someone would recomend? I have a couple pair of these jockey underwear that i've had forever, they're like those boyshort undies. I hate wearing bikini ones because you can see them in the shorts! Any advice on where i should go to get these miracle undies?! (link)

I'm foureen female. Here's my problem: I like my best guy friend, but I don't know how to tell him I want a more than friends relationship. He waits for me after classes, when I'm scared he calms me down. He really isn't like that to anyone else. I mean there have been times where we've come close to kissing. We always hint and stuff too it's just he hasn't made a move, and I really want him to. So does anyone know cirtain things to say or hints to drop to get a guy to make a move? I'll rate five. (link)

so i've been reading thru these questions and answring here and there, but then i finally realized that i need advice myself. ill rate you pretty high if you even read this twisted story...
me and my ex boyfriend had been going out for almost 3 months when he suddenly broke things off with me. pWe were good friends before we actually were going out...] When we were going out we were compeely comfortable with eachother, and when we first started going out there was no "comfort stage" as some people call it where we were awkward like new lovers. We live thru the woods from eachother so it was the perfect set up, whenever we needed eachother we could just meet halfway and we'd be together [weboth hate the phone].
however, the friday before he broke up with me, he told me hed call me[this was in school] and wed hang out with "the crew" [all of our mutal friends] he never called me that whole weekend and monday morning he broke up with me in a completely awkward and un like him self way. He hooked up with a friend of mine, and now he goes out with another friend of mine.
Heres the problem...i feel like i am over him, but i still find myself thinkin about him quite often. It doesnt help that i'm still sort of friends with our "mutal friends" who have drifted ever since we broke up, but my friend goesout with him!. i'm okay with that, or at least i think i am, but every once and a while ill have some outrageous dream that we get back together in the end and nothing changed, he loved me all along and the whole break up was stupid.
somebody please help i dont know what to do about my mixed feelings...as much as i want him back, i honestly dont want the dirtbag. i've had a hook up since them...with antoher dirtbag who is also my friend...it didnt mean much, i was smashed...and now i might have feelings for that guys older brother...but i still dont kno what to do about my ex.... your ex sounds like a jerk. i dont think i would go out with him again. Maybe your thinking about him alot cause your good friends. thats what it sounds like at least. i hope that you dont get to confussed. sorry this is pretty lame advice im in a hurry. but i would say your thinking about him cause of your friendship. i hope i helped =]

Next year I will be trying out for my school's cheerleading team. I want to already know how to do a split before a try out for the team. I would like to some tips and pointers on how to do a split. Like what type of warm ups should I do before a split and what type of cool downs should I do after a spilt. If anyone had any helpful advice it be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. (link)

okk. me and amanda. do gymnastics. and warm ups that you need to do would be lunge then from a lunge point your toe and then put your head to your knee and then slide your legs down and you'll be in a split. just do alot of those and everyday. almost any excersise involving legs helps...butterflys, strattles, over strattles, lunges, etc.

I know who i can trust (its a teacher) and I'm so scared because Im not an open person, I cant talk about my feelings easily.

Well I've known this girl for about a year now and we're really good friends, but I'm starting to like her more than a friend (if you know what I mean.) The only problem is I don't know if I should ask her out or not. ask her out. you only have one life to live. and if she does say noo then just dont make it awkward just make her laugh and stuff. most of the time...girls like guys but they dont know and they never ask them out so the girls are disappointed.

At school today, we were discussing the French Revolution in History class. The teacher was talking about how back then 97 % of French people were Catholic and they stuck firmly to tradition. We then started contrasting that to these times.
Then out of the blue he asked how many people believed in a Christian God. Not one person put their hand up. I didn't at first because I was embarassed, but then I did. I was the only one.
Later I was thinking.. I'm not sure it was right for my teacher to ask this. Is there any sets of rules on this type of thing? Like are teachers not meant to discuss issues like religion, politics, etc? I'm usually pretty closed-up about this kind of thing.
It really bothers me when I think about it, because I don't see why it was necessary. I graduate high school in a few months and was thinking of saying something to him at the end of the year. So, can someone let me know their opinion on this? Was it wrong for him to ask this?

i think it was wrong. he was singling you out. its good that you stood up to what you believe though. yeahh and teachers arent supposed to talk about religion. thats a law i think. tell your parents and see what they think.

My friend is going to kill herself next Friday.
She seems happy about it.
I've tried to change her mind, but that didn't work.
She doesn't eat, she's an insomniac, and she is very stressed.
She's been to shrinks but she says that they were a waste of her time.
She hates her parents because she can never talk to them, I guess.

im 14 and i wear a some makeup. just like a thin line of black eyeliner, soft eyeshadow colors, and black mascara. yeah, nothing out-of-this-world. anyway, i was wondering what you guys think is a good eyeshadow to match light blue eyes and light brown/long hair. oh yeah and a lot of freckles on the cheeks.
i usually do like a light brown or a light gray and i really like those. still, i wanted to try something new but i didnt want it to be like 'whoa, too much'
pink usually doesnt work for me. idk it just doesnt work with likee, the texture of my eyes.

okk. this is gonna sound crazy.. but orange. Orange brings out blue. so it will make your eyes look pretty. i have blue eyes and brown hair and i use orange. but im not talking about like bright neonish orange like a light orange it will be like its not there but bring out your eyes. i hope i helped

I asked a question earlier, on what the big deal girls had over celebrities and athletes with a six pack. I got great answers to that question, but then something else struck me when I read one of the answers I got:

The part I put in stars struck me, but why though? It's very true, and a lot of my guy friends have told me stories about when their girlfriends got mad or upset with them for saying a celebrity was hot. I'm not asking for the rights to go around saying so, or that I want to either, but what I have noticed is that a lot of the girls do that too. I've heard about maybe every single celebrity out there from girls, even my girlfriend, but even when I mention one [which I've always tried not to] I get a bad reaction and they are offended, sometimes mad.
So should I say something to my girlfriend about that? I mean I see it as unfair, mostly because while I have tried to say something to her about the situation, I hear the: oh but I have you and thats what I really care about... but I try saying that too and its not acceptable. Hallo!
O.K. so here's the deal. My brother takes me to school each morning in his car. Usually we would just leave at the last second, and get there in time. Now, we're leaving 30 minutes earlier to pick up his friend. I was o.k. with it, but now they're starting to smoke in the car and I get to school with my clothes smelling like smoke. Normally, I would just ask him to stop, but during last summer him and his ex-girlfriend had a baby when he was sixteen, and now I just feel bad for him a lot and I would feel guilty for asking him, because it's probably his way of dealing with the baby (Not that it's the right way.) What should I do?

alright. im in the same situation. i know that your brother seems like hes dealing with the situation but just ask him nicely that you dont really like smelling like smoke... and if hes like well im sorry thats the way i am. i doubt he will say that. i think he will see the situation for you and start smoking before and after they drive you to school
