I've realised I have depression and I desperatley need to talk to someone.
I know who i can trust (its a teacher) and I'm so scared because Im not an open person, I cant talk about my feelings easily.
I've tried to go to the counsellor at college but I cant walk into the room.
Anyway, how can i talk to the teacher?
What do i say to begin the conversation?
if your both o.k about them 2 then you can start the conversation. Begin with a few seconds silence, then begin the conversation. Something like this for example "Will the thing is, I think I may have depression" she will reply then start talking about how you feel. Simple really. Hope that helps. Daniel. If not, just walk up to her after class and you could say " I was wondering if I could talk to you about something?" and if she says she can talk, you can tell her what is going on. [ darkprince13's advice column | Ask darkprince13 A Question ]

"Can I talk to you about something? , its really important.. " and then go on from there.
You do whatever you can to get help!
I'm proud of you!

Then one day I desided what could it hurt. I went to the office and made an appt. with my counsler, and it wasnt as bad as I thought. Trust me it takes a load off your shoulders. Cause you realize that you are really scared about what they are thinking and what they are going to say.
You really dont need to worry. Just walk in their office and ask if they have a moment to talk with you. They will listen no matter what. They will. Its just starting talking that is hard. Just tell them what ever it is. That is the only thing you can do.

Mr_Skittles answered Wednesday June 14 2006, 6:44 pm: The easiest way to do it is "I have a problem"
They'll probably say "Oh? What's that"
xxsima answered Wednesday June 14 2006, 4:39 pm: You can say 'Well, lately I've been stressing and I'm pretty sure that I have depression. Can I talk to you about it?' and if he/she says yes, then don't be afraid! Don't let your feelings bottle up, it will make it worse. The teacher is there for a reason, and if you feel like you can trust him/her, then just let everything flow.
pinkers answered Wednesday June 14 2006, 4:27 pm: If you trust this person you shouldn't be afraid, because they are probably a nice and understanding person. Just find this person at a private time and ask them if you can talk privately. [ pinkers's advice column | Ask pinkers A Question ]
