how to do a spilt Next year I will be trying out for my school's cheerleading team. I want to already know how to do a split before a try out for the team. I would like to some tips and pointers on how to do a split. Like what type of warm ups should I do before a split and what type of cool downs should I do after a spilt. If anyone had any helpful advice it be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

okk. me and amanda. do gymnastics. and warm ups that you need to do would be lunge then from a lunge point your toe and then put your head to your knee and then slide your legs down and you'll be in a split. just do alot of those and everyday. almost any excersise involving legs helps...butterflys, strattles, over strattles, lunges, etc.
hope i helped

stretttchhhhh those leggssssss before and after. butterflys, froglegs, bar stretches[1 leg up on bar or high surface...countertop, what ever and you slide the one foot as far as you can keeping the ground foot sturdy and not moving ]
well,u should definatley stretch your legs everyday act like you are doing a split and just stretch right to left to middle for about 15 min. a day and when you are finished stretching take 5 min.and make sure to cool off your muscles you have just streched make sure to drink a lot of water!Amber=) ]
